Highest scoring FPL players in a single FPL season since 2002/03 (season-wise):
2002/2003(271 points), 2003/2004(242 points)- Thierry Henry
Henry smashed 271 and 242 FPL points in the first two seasons of FPL to set up the game on fire. Henry scored 24 goals, and 23 FPL assists in the first year of FPL- 2003. His 20 assists is still the highest in a single season of Premier League which is only equaled by Kevin De Bruyne in 2020. He turned out to be an even better goal scorer with 30 goals adding to the 6 assists the next year, finished with the most points again(242), and went on to win the golden boot. Safe to say, that he ruled FPL for the first few years!
2004/2005- Frank Lampard(269 points)
Lampard should arguably be the ‘Greatest FPL Player of all Time‘. Having played in the league every year from 2003-2015, what sets him apart from the rest is his incredible consistency. Lampard has missed just 4 Premier Leagues across 5 seasons from 2003-2007. Lampard scored 13 goals and created 18 assists to fetch 269 points and help Mourinho win his first Premier League in 2005. Perhaps, this won’t be the last time you will be seeing this name on this list of highest-scoring FPL players!

2005/2006- Thierry Henry(239 points)
It didn’t take Henry long enough to get back here with 27 goals(Golden Boot), and 8 assists to fetch 239 points. This was his last prolific season with the Gunners as he was injured for the most part of the 2006/2007 season before moving to Barcelona. Finishing 3 times on the podium out of the 5 seasons since FPL started should definitely put him among all-time FPL greats!
Henry’s 2005/06 Season FPL numbers:
- Never scored fewer than 24 goals in a Premier League season from 2002-2006- Set and Forget!
- Featured 4 times in the end-of-season FPL Dream Team continuously from 2003-2006 which is joint highest for a forward in FPL history.
2006/2007(244 points), 2007/2008(283 points)- Cristiano Ronaldo
For the FPL newbies, Cristiano Ronaldo was already an FPL star even before he became a world-hero. Ronaldo got 17 goals, 8 assists- 244 points in the 2006/2007 season to help Manchester United win their first PL title since 2003. This helped United start a run of their own and managed to win 4/5 upcoming seasons. He emulated himself the next year to score 31 goals(Joint highest at that time), 6 assists, and help himself to 283 points. His 283 points was the highest score in a single season at that time. He not only ended the year as FPL’s best but also finished as World’s best- Winning his first Ballon d’Or.
Cristiano Ronaldo FPL price from 2007/08 season
Ronaldo’s price during the 2007-08 season was 14.0 Million and still had more than 60% ownership at one point. He also remains the only player featured in the FPL game to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or to date.

2008/2009(226 points), 2009/2010(284 points)- Frank Lampard
Frank Lampard has not only been the backbone of Chelsea’s midfield in the last decade, but also for thousands of FPL managers. Lampard managed 12 goals, 10 assists in the 2008/2009 season. In the following 2009/10 season, Lampard unleashed the FPL beast in him to get 36 goal contributions-22 goals, 14 assists in 36 games averaging one attacking return per game! Lampard’s stellar season combined with Drogba’s 29 goals helped Chelsea win the Premier League. If there was a debate for the greatest FPL player of all time, Lampard would surely be in the mix, if not at the podium!
Lampard’s amazing FPL numbers:
- Most times(7) featured in the end of the season Dream Team in FPL History.
- Missed just 4 PL games from 2003-2007
- At least 24 appearances every season since FPL started in 2003 till 2015(His last season in PL)

2010/2011- Luis Nani(198 points)
Surprise Surprise! Yes, Luis Nani finished as the best FPL player in the 2010/11 season. He had just 9 goals, but got 14 assists to ensure that he finished on top. Nani set up his team-mate Berbatov who scored 20 goals to help Manchester United win the league that season. This was the only FPL season in which no player crossed more than 200 points. The runner-up spot that season was even more surprising with Charlie Adam from Blackpool getting 192 points courtesy 12 goals and 8 assists.
The 192 points scored by Charlie Adam were the highest points scored by a player from a promoted team until Bamford broke the record with his 194 points during the 2020/21 season
2011/2012(269 points), 2012/2013(262 points)- Robin Van Persie
Two consecutive seasons, playing for two different teams with different ambitions, Robin Van Persie had only one thing in mind- Scoring goals. Playing for Arsenal in the 2011/12 season, RVP scored 30 goals, 13 assists(FPL) in 38 games- 43 goal contributions in 38 games. Even more sweeter was the 45 bonus points he fetched that season. These contributions were not enough for Arsenal to win the league as they finished 19 points behind the Manchester teams.
Just a few days before Arsenal’s GW1 game against Sunderland in the 2012/13 season, Van Persie had made up his mind to move to ‘The Theatre of Dreams’. RVP started at the price of 13.0 due to his last season exploits. He had an equally great season at Manchester United scoring 26 goals, 15 assists, 49 bonus points, fetching 262 points from 38 games and more importantly the league title. Van Persie got 50 points more than second-placed forward-Luis Suarez(212 points). It was supposed to be Gareth Bale’s season with 21 goals, 9 assists, and 50 bonus points to end with 249 points– Only to fall behind the shadows of Van Persie(262 points). The 50 bonus points scored by Bale is however still the second most bonus points scored by a player in an FPL season.
RVP’s crazy FPL numbers from the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons:
84 goal contributions(56G+ 28 assists) from 78 games averaging 6.98 points/ game across two seasons. To add to it, he didn’t miss a single game across these two seasons– Set and Forget Captaincy choice!

2013/2014- Luis Suarez(295 points)
Although Suarez falls second on the all-time list behind Salah, this has to be the best FPL performance ever in a year from our point of view. Suarez secured 31 goals, 25 assists(FPL), and 40 bonus points helping himself to 295 points despite missing the first 5 games through suspension. What made these even more special was he had only 33 appearances(after missing the first 5 games through suspension) which led to him getting a record 8.9 points/game in FPL. Another thing to be noted here is that Suarez has these staggering numbers despite not being on penalty duties, with Steven Gerrard taking care of penalties! No wonder, the 2013/14 season FPL winning manager’s team name was ‘Captain Suarez(2634 points)‘ and he went on to captain Suarez 22 times!

Suarez 2013/14 FPL Season Highlights:
- 4 goals, 1 assist, 24 points against Norwich in GW14.
- 2 goals, 3 assists, and 22 points against Spurs in December
- 77 FPL points from just 4 games during a period in December.
- 13 double-digit returns
2014/2015- Eden Hazard(233 points)
Eden Hazard started the 2014/15 season slowly with just 3 goals and 2 assists from the first 10 GWs. This led to even a drop in his price from 10.0 to 9.9. Elsewhere his teammate Fabregas was ruling the roster with 9 assists and 1 goal from the first 10 weeks. Slowly, Hazard picked up form to get 14 goals, 10 assists, 42 bonus points, and 233 FPL points and ended the season at 11.4. He not only finished FPL’s best but also helped Chelsea win Premier League and get himself the Player of the Season award.
Surprising stat from the 2014/15 FPL Season – Eden Hazard had the same number of goals(14) and assists(10) the previous season but ended up getting only 202 points in the 2013/14 season compared to 233 points in the 2014/15 season. This difference is mainly due to the 42 bonus points he received in the 2014/15 season compared to 23 bonus points in the previous season.

2015/2016- Riyad Mahrez(240 points)
Leicester City shocked millions of football fans and did the seemingly impossible- Overcoming 5000-to -1 odds to win the Premier League title. The odds for Riyad Mahrez to be the best FPL player that season would have been even less. Mahrez started the season at a very low price of 5.5 due to just 4 goals & 5 assists in the previous season.
However, Mahrez started the season in amazing fashion smashing 5 double-digit hauls in the first 6 weeks courtesy of 5 goals and 3 assists. His price rose to 6.5 by GW8. He blanked just two times between GW9 & GW17 and reached his peak price of 7.4 by GW30. He did have a low key-end to the season with just 2 goals from the last 9 games but finished the season with 17 goals, 11 assists, 38 bonus points, and 240 points in total.

2016/2017- Alexis Sanchez(264 points)
Sanchez surely didn’t have the best of his days at Manchester United. But the Alexis Sanchez who played for Arsenal was a different FPL beast. He hit prime form in the 2016/17 season getting 24 goals, 11 assists, and 32 bonus points accumulating a total of 264 points.

Sanchez’s key stats from the 2016/17 FPL Season:
- 3 goals, 1 assist, 3 bonus points totaling to 23 points in GW14 against West Ham.
- 27 points in FPL DGW37 with a goal and assist against Stoke getting him 12 points followed by two goals against Sunderland which got him 15 points. What’s crazy is that this was not the highest individual score that week with North London rival, Harry Kane registering a whopping 31 points that week.
2017/2018(303 points), 2018/2019(259 points)- Mohammed Salah
Coming into the 2017/18 season, Salah didn’t have a great FPL history. He just had 34 points across 530 minutes for Chelsea before being loaned out to Fiorentina and Roma. But what followed in his first season at Liverpool was nothing short of history. Salah managed to get 32 goals, 12 assists, and 26 bonus points en route to his 303 points haul. He still remains the only player in FPL history to touch the magical 300-figure mark.
Salah slowed down(from his lofty standards) the next season getting 22 goals, 12 assists, and 18 bonus points to finish with 259 points. He once again finished on Podium 21 points ahead of the second-placed Eden Hazard who finished with 238 points. The surprising thing is that he got just 18 bonus points and didn’t feature even among the top 10 for bonus points despite finishing with the most points.
Salah’s 2017/18 FPL Season Highlights:
- Most goals(32), Most points(303) in a single season in FPL History.
- Most points scored in a single Gameweek in FPL History- 4 goals, 1 assist, 3 bonus points, 29 points against Watford in GW31.
- Surprisingly, Salah missed 23 big chances in his 2017/18 season- Most among midfielders.

- It was hoped that Salah would beat his own record of 303 points(2018/19 season) considering his initial form but just 16 points in the last 6 Liverpool games didn’t help the cause.
Fun Fact- In the final day of the season, Salah got one goal vs Wolves and Son got 2 goals vs Norwich City to finish with 23 goals each.
