FPL GW7 Differential picks to consider ahead of Deadline | ALLABOUTFPL

Gameweek 6 was an absolute disaster for a lot of the FPL managers as most of the heavy hitters barring the Spurs duo blanked. To compile our woes, it looked as though football returned back to normalcy as we saw only 19 goals in 10 matches, which obviously is by far the lowest of the season. That means making transfers for FPL GW7 is all the more tricky. It is high time we get our differential picks spot on as they could be the make or break in our mini leagues. In this blog, you will find the top 5 differential options for FPL GW 7.

As always, our differential article has five players with less than 10% ownership who have a high chance of returning for that particular GW and beyond. Check out our top differential options for FPL GW7 below!

Note: all player ownership at the time of writing, subject to change as we move close to the FPL GW7 deadline

FPL GW7 Differential Picks:

1. Christian Pulisic vs Burnley (A) £8.3 Mil TSB: 3.9%

Captain America is back!

Christian Pulisic was always going to be the best option to pick from among the attackers Chelsea have as we know and we have seen how good he is last season. But his injury problems meant that we had to wait a while to bring him in. But the wait is over, and we feel that FPL GW7 is the perfect time to bring the American in to your teams, ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Burnley.

Pulisic has had three starts in the last two weeks, so he is up to speed in terms of fitness. To make matters better, he was given only 20 minutes in their Champions League game midweek in Russia. Chelsea’s number 10 scored 1 goal and got 1 assist and played the key pass to other goal in the minutes he was on the pitch. He is back to full fitness and he is back to form.

And if you are still not convinced, then hear this out: The last time Pulisic played at Turf Moor he scored a hattrick!

2. Sadio Mane vs West Ham (H) £12.0 Mil TSB: 9.5%

Sadio Mane
Mane is quietly ticking along and it is about time we look at him.

It is absolutely crazy that Sadio Mane has made it to the differentials list. But such is the nature of FPL that everyone is leaning towards Mo Salah and as a result Mane slips under the radar. But that doesn’t mean he is not as feasible an option as Salah is. In fact we feel that he’s the better option. Not least because he is 0.4 mil cheaper than the Egyptian, but also because he has outscored Salah by 7 points in the last 5 gameweeks despite playing a game less.

In FPL GW7 Mane takes on West Ham who have been vulnerable defensively from the left hand side. In fact 5 of the 8 goals they have conceded have come from their left directly from crosses into the box. This makes Sadio Mane an even bigger proposition for this weekend.

The general feeling for FPL managers is that Salah gets more chances, plus he is one penalties. Firstly, the number of penalties have reduced in the last 2 weeks. Secondly, in the last 5 GWs, Mane has had 8 big chances in 4 matches as opposed to Salah’s 4 big chances in 5 matches. Time to rethink? We certainly think so!

3. Phil Foden vs Sheffield United (A) £6.6 Mil TSB: 8.4%

Foden will be a very good long term value for money option

It is hard to believe that we would be saying Phil Foden is the best asset to own from ManCity. But because of his price point and the fact that he is nearly matching Sterling in terms of points makes him a very tempting option. Foden now has returned at least a goal or an assist in each of his last 4 matches in all competitions( 1 goal, 3 assists). If we compare Foden ‘s stats with Sterling’s, they are astonishingly similar.

Sterling in Numbers:
Goals: 2
xG: 1.61
BC: 2
SiB: 8
A: 1
xA: 1.05
Points: 29

Foden in Numbers:
Goals: 1
xG: 1.50
BC: 3
SiB: 8
A: 1
xA: 0.39
Points: 25

It is clear to see that Foden is an incredible option for his price point. We still feel that if you can to bring Sterling in to your teams despite having all other big hitters, then you do it. If not, then Foden is more than a decent enabler to bring in ahead of Man City’s fixture at Sheffield United in FPL GW7.

4. Che Adams vs Aston Villa(A) £5.8 Mil TSB: 2.0%

Adams is starting to live up to expectations

It must have been frustrating to be a Che Adams owner for the first three GWs of the season as the ball just wouldn’t go into the back of the net for him. However, his consistency in front of goal has eventually told and he has registered 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 4 matches. He goes into FPL GW7 matchup against Aston Villa with the wind on his sail.

Southampton take on an Aston Villa side whose bubble may have burst last weekend at the hands of Leeds. They were massively overperforming defensively, and it finally told. Aston Villa have allowed 50 shots from inside the box in 5 games. Only Newcastle, Fulham, Leeds, West Brom, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace have allowed more. But all these teams have played one more game than the Villains.

Furthermore, Villa have an xGC of 7.81 but have conceded only 5 goals. All this points to a good outing for Saints’ attackers.

5. Ademola Lookman vs West Brom(H) £5.0 Mil TSB: 0.4%

It won’t be long before this lad says to us” Look man bring me in to your FPL sides”!

Last, but not the least, we have a Fulham attacker on the list who is not Mitrovic, which in itself shows how 2020 esque this FPL season has been so far. Ademola Lookman has had 9 shots on goal in the last two gameweeks, a tally that ranks third on the list for midfielders. He also scored a goal against Sheffield United and hit the post against Crystal Palace last time out.

Lookman takes on West Brom in FPL GW7, a side that has the joint worst defense in the league along with Fulham themselves and Liverpool. In fact we would like to stick our neck out and say that Lookman is the best FPL option for a fifth midfielder in your sides for the rest of the season. He may well turn out to be the Todd Cantwell of this FPL season.
