Author’s FPL GW 3 Captain pick:

1. Timo Werner vs WBA (A) £9.5 Mil TSB: 35.9%

Timo Werner FPL GW 3 Captain pick
Timo is in for a massive haul against WBA

Timo Werner hasn’t had the start which we FPL Managers expected with the Chelsea forward not scoring in his first two PL Appearances for Chelsea. Werner has already been sold by more than 3,00,000 managers and his ownership has dropped by around 15% over the opening two weeks ahead of a trip to Hawthorns in FPL GW 3. Timo hasn’t had a very bad as portrayed having had six shots on goal and got the assist for the penalty against Brighton. It could have been another assist to the tally had Jorginho converted his second penalty in two games against Liverpool.

It’s still early into this season but WBA look like the Norwich of the last season, West Brom have conceded 8 goals(Highest), 30 shots(3rd most), 24 Shots inside the box(Joint most), 14 SoT(Highest) and 8 Big Chances conceded (Highest) over the opening two weeks. Chelsea and Werner will look to exploit the defensive weakness of West Brom. Having been rested for the carabao cup, Werner will be eager to open his PL goal scoring account for chelsea come this weekend and he seems to be the perfect FPL GW 3 Captaincy candidate for me.

2. Kevin De Bruyne vs Leicester City (H) £11.5 Mil TSB: 38.5%

KDB FPL GW 3 Captain pick
KDB is a no brainer!

Kevin De Bruyne. Simply put the man is a pleasure to watch and is an even better FPL asset to own. The Man City attacker played an advanced roleas a number 10 in their first game of the season against wolves and ended up with a goal and assist taking home 13 points including three bonus points. Now that Aguero is injured he’s on penalties as well and he’s a very strong penalty taker which was evident in GW2 against Wolves further increasing his FPL appeal. KDB faces a leicester city side at the Etihad who are without one of their important player, Wilfred Ndidi who has been ruled out for atleast 12 weeks following an injury.

Talking strictly based on numbers KDB enjoyed a phenomenal 2019/20 FPL Season scoring 14 goals and registering a whopping 23 assists making him the only player to score more than 250+ points last season. One thing worth considering is that KDB’s home record is even better.

KDB 2019/20 Season Home Record:
Goals: 10 vs 4
xG: 5.37 vs 3.03
BC: 5 vs 1
SiB: 26 vs 15
A: 13 vs 10
xA: 11.59 vs 7.95
BCC: 20 vs 14

Post Restart KDB Home Record(GW30+ to GW38+):
Games played: 5(1)
FPL points: 55🔥🔥🔥
Goals: 4
Shots: 14 shots
Shots on target: 6

FPL GW 3 Differential Captain pick:

Richarlison FPL GW 3 Captain pick
Richarlison has had a great start to the season!

With all the limelight on fellow attacker DCL £7.2 Mil, TSB%(25.4%) and James Rodriguez £7.6 Mil, TSB%(23.6%) Richarlison is our differential captain pick for FPL GW 3. He’s been unlucky to have not scored in the opening two games but did register three assists and recorded 12 points against West Brom in FPL GW2 which saw Everton score 5 goals.

Richarlison has registered 12 shots on goal (2nd highest in the league behind salah), 10 shots inside the box(Joint highest in the league) and has had two big chances with an xG of 1.18. 4. Kane vs Newcastle (H) £10.5 Mil TSB: 16.5%

Kane FPL GW 3 Captain pick
Harry registered a massive haul against Saints registering four assists and a goal in FPL GW2!

Kane produced a stunning performance against Southampton playing a part in all five of spurs goals scoring one and assisting four goals for Son. Kane’s highest assist tally in FPL stands at 7 assists in the 2016/17 season and the spurs forward has made more than half of that in one game. He’s up against a Newcastle side who’ll be different from the Saints that they faced in GW2. Steve bruce will set up his team to set back and defend which plays into Kane’s aerial threat.

The magpies also looked poor against Brighton conceding three goals and have conceded 28 shots on goal, 16 shots inside the box and 9 on target in the opening two weeks. Having been rested for their Europa league Qualifiers fixture, Kane should be fresh and ready to fire against Newcastle.

Stat attack: Newcastle are poor in containing the opposition’s aerial threat and conceded the most shots on goal from headed attempts(106) last season.

5. Raul Jimenez vs West Ham United (A) £8.5 Mil TSB: 21.4%

Raul Jimenez FPL GW 3 Captain pick
Mr. Consistent Raul Jimenez

There isn’t a more consistent FPL forward in the last two seasons than Raul Jimenez who has picked up from where he left last season scoring two goals in two games for Wolves. Over the opening two weeks Jimenez has registered 8 shots, three on target, seven inside the box and had three big chances with an xG of 1.40. GW3 sees Raul Jimenez line up against a west Ham United who are winless in PL and to make things worse the hammers are without Diop and David Moyes who have tested positive for COVID-19.

West ham are another side who conceed a lot of header attempts on goal and Raul is strong aerially. Last season saw Raul register 25 shots from header attempts(2nd highest in PL) and score 5 goals from headers(Highest in PL). He headed home a Podence cross against in GW2 as well and could repeat the same against the hammers in GW3.

Raheem Sterling £8.5 vs Leicester City(H) is still owned by less than 6% managers and he could be a very good differential captain option. Raz enjoyed a rich vein of form post restart scoring the most goals(9) and registered the highest FPL points in the same period(86). Mo Salah isn’t enough spoken about as well, The liverpool attacker is playing arsenal at home and his home record is simply outstanding having scored a hatrick in GW1 against leeds. Last season Salah scored 15/19 goals at home making him the highest scoring FPL player at home.
