As FPL returns with the addition of unlimited transfers and the new announcements about additional game weeks (GW30+, GW31+, etc.) Most of the managers are talking about the FPL chip strategy they should adopt to get the best results in the coming weeks. In this blog, we’re going to break down the FPL chip strategy for you so that you don’t have to!
This blog will cover the FPL chip strategy for all the possible scenarios with respect to FPL chips that you haven’t used yet. In all this discussion, We are assuming that we are going to have only one DGW (GW30+) before the end of the season. We’ll be focusing on Wild Card (WC), Bench Boost (BB), and Free Hit (FH) first.
FPL Chip Strategy for the remainder of the season:
FPL Chip Strategy with Wildcard, Free Hit and Bench Boost
Since many people used their Triple Captain (TC) chip in GW24 (Remember Salah 16 pointer and Mane 1 pointer in the DGW), We’ll be adding FPL Triple Captain suggestions for FPL managers who haven’t used it yet in the later half of the blog.
1. No- Triple Captain, Available- Wildcard, Bench Boost, Free Hit
- Use unlimited transfers and BB in GW30+ (DGW)
- WC in GW31+
- FH later when you find a good option (GW38+ is a good option)
2. No- Triple Captain, Free Hit Available- Wildcard, Bench Boost
- Use unlimited transfers and BB in GW30+ (DGW)
- WC in GW31+
3. No- Triple Captain, Bench Boost Available- Wildcard, Free Hit
- Use unlimited transfers to attack GW30+ (DGW)
- WC in GW31+
- FH later when you find a good option (GW38+ is a good option)
4. No- Triple Captain, Bench Boost, Free Hit Available – Wildcard
- Use unlimited transfers to attack GW30+ (DGW)
- WC in GW31+
5. No- Triple Captain, Wildcard Available- Bench Boost, Free Hit
- If you like your GW38 team, then FH GW30+ to attack the DGW; BB later
- If you do not like your GW38 team then use unlimited transfers to set up your team for BB in GW30+ and the next few fixtures; FH later when you find a good option (GW38+ is a good option)
6. No- Triple Captain, Wildcard, Free Hit Available – Bench Boost
- Use unlimited transfers to set up your team for BB in GW30+ and the next few fixtures or play BB in a later GW based on form and fixtures
7. No- Triple Captain, Wildcard, Bench Boost, Available- Free Hit
- If you like your GW38 team, then FH to attack GW30+ (DGW)
- If you do not like your GW38 team then use unlimited transfers to set up your team; FH later when you find a good option (GW38+ is a good option)
8. No- Triple Captain, Wildcard, Bench Boost, Free Hit
- Use unlimited transfers to set up your team
Now we have considered all the scenarios when a manager does not have the TC chip available.
FPL chip strategy with Triple captain left
But, there are a few managers who may still have the TC chip with them. The chip strategy becomes a little more complicated in that scenario considering how powerful the TC chip can be for your rank.
9. Available- Triple Captain, WildCard, Bench Boost, Free Hit
- Use unlimited transfers to set up your GW30+ team; use either BB or TC in GW30+ and the other chip later
- WC in GW31+
- FH later when you see a good option (GW38+ is a good option)
10. Available- Triple Captain, Wildcard, Bench Boost, No- Free Hit
- Use unlimited transfers to set up your GW30+ team; use either BB or TC in GW30+ and the other chip later
- WC in GW31+
11. Available – Triple Captain, WildCard, Free Hit No- Bench Boost
- Use unlimited transfers to set up your GW30+ team and use TC in GW30+
- WC in GW31+
- FH later when you see a good option (GW38+ is a good option)
12. Available- Triple Captain, Wild Card, No- Bench Boost, FreeHit
- Use unlimited transfers to set up your GW30+ team and use TC in GW30+
- WC in GW31+
13. Available- Triple Captain, Bench Boost, Freehit No- WildCard.
- If you like your GW38 team then FH to attack GW30+ (DGW); use TC and BB later
- If you don’t like your GW38 team, then use unlimited transfers to set up your team for GW30+ and the next few fixtures; use either BB or TC in GW30+; use the rest of the chips later (GW38+ is a good option for FH)
14. Available- TC, Bench Boost No- WildCard, Free Hit
- Use unlimited transfers to set up your team for GW30+ and the next few fixtures; use either BB or TC in GW30+; use the remaining chip later
15. Available – Triple Captain, Free Hit No- WildCard, Bench Boost
- If you like your GW38 team then FH to attack GW30+ (DGW); use TC later
- If you don’t like your GW38 team, then use unlimited transfers to set up your team for GW30+ and the next few fixtures; use TC in GW30+; use FH when you find a good option (GW38+ is a good option)
16. Available- Triple Captain, No- WildCard, Bench Boost, Free Hit
- Use unlimited transfers to set up your team for GW30+ and the next few fixtures; use TC in GW30+
I hope this guide is useful for people deciding on their chip strategy. This is how we would advise you to use FPL chips in different scenarios purely focusing on attacking the DGW in GW30+.
I do understand that there are people who are more cautious and would want to wait to see how different Premier League teams perform in the first 3/4 weeks before deciding on their chip strategy.
Although it might be risky to attack the FPL DGW 30+ by betting on players without knowing their fitness level and form, this risk is hugely negated by the fact that this is DGW (where City, Arsenal, Sheffield United, and Aston Villa play twice) and you get to have two bites of the apple.
