Callum Wilson

With 8 game weeks gone by we have got some exiting set of players who are proving to be MUST OWNS in FPL this season so the important factor here is to get them as early as possible so that you don’t regret looking back at the decision, you have made!

Let’s look at 4 players, one from each position who are absolutely must owns in your FPL squads if you don’t already own them.

  • Nick Pope
  • Trent Alexander Arnold
  • Kevin De Bruyne
  • Tammy Abraham

GOALKEEPER:

NICK POPE BURNLEY 4.7 MIL 15% TSB:

Set and forget keeper?

After missing the entire 2018/19 season following a serious injury, nick pope is well and truly back putting in some amazing performances which have earned him three clean sheets so far this season.

With the number of clean sheets rare to come by, going for a premium goalkeeper has not worked out this season and budget keepers have topped the point charts so far.

Nick Pope has so far made 26 saves so far, 4th highest in the league this season and has kept 3 clean sheets that have earned him 32 points ranking behind Patricio, Ryan, and Dean Henderson.

Pope in Numbers:

  • Number of points:32 -4th highest (amongst Goalkeepers)
  • Number of saves:26- 4th highest (amongst Goalkeepers)
  • Bonus points: 2- 4th highest (amongst Goalkeepers)
  • BPS scoring:167- 2nd highest (amongst Goalkeepers)

Next Five Fixtures: LEI(A), CHE(H), SHU(A), WHU(H), WAT(A)

Although Ryan has outscored pope by 3 points so far this season, we all know how long and grueling the season could be and we are placing our bet on nick pope to be the set and forget goalkeeper for this season.

DEFENDER:

TRENT ALEXANDER ARNOLD LIVERPOOL 7. MIL:

How may I assist you?

The Liverpool full-back has justified his price tag with a string of consistent resulting in 40 points making him the joint-highest scoring defender along with foxes right-back Ricardo Pereira

TAA has the second-best minutes per chances(26) created with only Man city midfielder Raheem sterling having a better minutes(17) perchance record and also is the only defender to be in the top 10 of ICT(influence, threat, and creativity) scoring so far this season, this shows the contribution of TAA to the Liverpool attack.

With 2 clean sheets and four contributions so far this season, the attacking returns will surely increase in the coming game weeks also the return of Alisson will further add to the defensive stability meaning more clean sheet as well.

TAA in numbers:

  • POINTS SCORED: 40 (Joint highest amongst defenders)
  • GOALS SCORED: 1
  • ASSISTS: 3
  • BONUS POINTS: 3
  • BPS:197

Next five fixtures: Man United(A), Spurs(H), Aston Villa(A), Man City (H) and Crystal Palace(A)

So if you don’t own him it’s high time to get him in your FPL teams or risk regretting later

3. Kevin De Bruyne MCI 10 MIL 31.2% TSB:

Belgian Maestro

Well, this isn’t a tough choice, to be honest, KDB has been the highest-scoring player in FPL so far in spite of the fact that he missed and GW8 and was benched against Norwich city in GW5. Coincidentally Man city have lost both the matches that KDB didn’t start that shows how much the city attack is dependant on their star midfielder

KDB has had a goal or assist every 48 minutes so far this season and also has the most number of goal contributions(G+A) this season(11) earning 63 points in the process, having not called upon for international duty following an injury KDB should be fit for the game against crystal palace.

KDB in numbers:

  • POINTS SCORED: 63 -highest in FPL
  • GOALS SCORED: 2
  • ASSISTS: 9- Highest in FPL
  • BONUS POINTS: 10- Second highest in FPL
  • BPS: 246- second-highest in FPL

Having already raised 0.5 in price since the beginning of the season it would be foolish to not to have him in your FPL teams, so if you don’t own KDB now is the time.

4. TAMMY ABRAHAM CHELSEA- 7.7 MIL, 42.1% TSB:

No stopping Tammy!

The Academy graduate of Chelsea making his comeback this season after 3 long seasons of loan at Bristol City, Swansea City, and Aston villa has proved to be the best budget striker so far this season, Scoring 8 goals making him the highest-scoring player this season along with Sergio Aguero.

Tammy Abraham has had the highest shot on target (15) in the last 6 game weeks scoring 8 goals in the process, The forward already has three game weeks in which he has scored 13 or more points and offers everything you would want from a budget forward with his goal-scoring ability coupled with explosive potential.

Tammy in numbers:

  • POINTS SCORED: 54 -Highest in FPL
  • GOALS SCORED: 8
  • BONUS POINTS: 11- Highest in FPL
  • BPS: 246- Fourth highest amongst forwards

Having already raised by 0.7 MIL since the start of the season and with some exciting fixtures lined up we don’t think he’s going to slow down any sooner

Cheers for reading, let us know how many of the above mentioned four you own! Stay tuned for Captain picks for GW9 and also wildcard over the international break blog posts.
