FPL GW10 Team Selection- Transfer Plans and Strategy
Srini’s GW10 Team Reveal(Bus Team):
- Overall Points: 555
- Overall Rank: 727,912
- Free Transfers: 1
- Money in the Bank: 1.0 million
Potential Transfer Plans for FPL GW10:
First things first, The defense looks terrible with the Gabriel injured as well. Most of the Transfer plans will include Gabriel if he is ruled out for a few weeks. The latest we know from Arteta is that – “We are still assessing him. It doesn’t look bad at all. It was much better the next day. He has done some tests”. There are so many potential routes to go this week.
- Roll the Transfer: I am likely to do this if Gabriel is only ruled out for this week and re-assess with 2 Free Transfers next week. But this would mean a defense of Lewis, Leif Davis, and Faes starting this week which doesn’t look good at all. But with defender points anyways not coming this season, why not leave it as such!
- Gabriel to TAA with the Free Transfer: With 1.0 million in the bank, Gabriel to TAA is one of the moves to my mind. Liverpool have been good defensively and the tough fixtures of Chelsea and Arsenal are over now with better fixtures to come. TAA has been unlucky to get just one attacking return so far as he has been excellent with 3.4 xGI. The only issue with this move is that it uses up almost all the funds in the bank and blocks the Foden to Son move directly next week.
- Gabriel to Ait Nouri with the Free Transfer: This would mean saving up more than 1.5 million in the bank opening up funds to make the Salah transfer in GW11/GW12. There is also SOU(H) game in GW11 which could be a massive potential for Ait Nouri. The only caveat is that Ait Nouri is on 4 yellow cards- One yellow card away from a suspension.
- Foden to Saka with the Free Transfer: Going with this option would mean reversing/correcting one of the transfers from the last GW which makes it hilarious. Saka is a set-and-forget option and has always been a consistent performer. Although this is potentially a good transfer, there is no point reversing the transfer considering Foden also had a good game and was unlucky not to return. Patience should pay off as there is no point in switching premiums every other week as seen this season.
- Haaland and Rogers to Isak and Salah(-4): There is a temptation to get Salah considering the form he is in and he will be facing a Brighton side without Lewis Dunk. But I am likely to opt out of this move because it involves a hit and it also involves selling Haaland which I am not comfortable atleast for the next few weeks.
Final Update:
- I have chosen to roll the Transfer this week going ahead with the Bus team above. One more week for Foden before he becomes Son/Saka or even Bruno. 2 Free Transfers will help to re-assess the situation better for the upcoming week
- ESR vs Rogers and Davis vs Faes are very close benching calls than it looks like. I have gone with ESR and Davis which I am not comfortable with Rogers having the full week rest and Spurs also missing Van De Ven.

Transfer Strategy and Watchlist going ahead:
- Foden to Son(c) in GW11 to Target the Ipswich(H) fixture for Spurs
- Solanke to Brighton Forward/Jackson in GW12: While the Jackson move would be a direct switch going to Brighton Forward(Welbeck/Pedro if fit) opens up funds to get Salah/TAA. Jackson and Chelsea have brilliant fixtures from GW12 all the way to GW21.
- Haaland will very likely stay on the team- at least till GW11- and may leave only in GW12 if he is leaving the team at all. As mentioned earlier, I am not a fan of selling Haaland this week due to the 2 upcoming games vs Brighton and Bournemouth. Both teams are good attack-wise and won’t sit in a low block opening spaces for Haaland and more chances in general for Manchester City. Selling Haaland in GW12(A slightly tough run of fixtures for City) enables you a midfield of Salah, Palmer, and Saka along with TAA and Gabriel in defense.
- Manchester United Midfielder in GW11– Bruno/Garnacho

Surya’s GW10 Team Reveal(Bus Team):
- Overall Points: 552
- Overall Rank: 816498
- Free Transfers: 2
- Money in the Bank: 0.3 Million
Potential Transfer Plans for FPL GW10:
- I am very happy with how the team structure sits up right now even though it has 3 Premium Defenders. Still feel these 3 defenders are the best in the game, fixture-proof, and can get attacking returns any day as well along with the fact these 3 teams are probably the 3 Defenses in the league.
- Even though the team is in a good place to roll this week, Gabriel’s injury concern and Solanke’s form opens up options with 2 Free Transfers in hand. Solanke has been a disappointing wildcard buy in GW6 and has had just 2 shots in the last three games.
The potential routes I can go this week are:
- Roll the Free Transfer– This is the most likely option I am considering this week going into GW11 with 3 Free Transfers. This means starting Faes vs Ipswich even if Gabriel is ruled out. Rogers/ESR will be a close benching headache once again
- Gabriel to Ait Nouri- This helps to field a very strong 11 this week and opens up funds to upgrade Solanke in the upcoming weeks.
- Solanke to Raul Jimenez – This feels to be a bit of a jerk move considering the next 2 fixtures are not bad for Spurs and the money saved can’t be used anywhere else to strengthen the squad.
Final Update:
- I have decided to roll the transfer again carrying 3 Free Transfers into GW11 and then re-assess the situation again.
- I am honestly not sure about benching one among ESR/Rogers/Garnacho. This will go down to the wire and it might even end up on a roll of dice. If you are in a similar situation, back your gut feeling as all 3 are good players with good fixtures this week!

Transfer Strategy and Watchlist going ahead:
- Solanke to Isak/Jackson/Havertz in GW12: If Solanke is not leaving my team this week he is very likely to leave the team in GW12 after the fixture vs Ipswich(H) in GW11. Isak is back fully fit and has notched up more than 1.0 xGI/game in the last 2 matches. The fixture run from GW12 is also amazing except for GW14.
- Gvardiol to Saliba/Chelsea Defender in GW12: Gvardiol can be Saliba in GW12 if you are looking for a direct move and Doubling up on Arsenal’s defense for the better run of fixtures.
- But the other option is more exciting. By GW14, I can change up the structure of the team by doing Solanke to Jackson(By GW12), Gvardiol to 4.5 Defender(GW12), TAA to Konate(GW13) and Garnacho to Saka(GW14). This means having the players in my team for the fixtures I like the most- Solanke vs Ipswich(GW11), TAA vs Southampton(GW12), Gvardiol vs BOU, BHA(GW10, GW11), Garnacho vs Leicester, Ipswich, Everton(GW11-GW13). This helps to get Jackson, and Saka for the longer run of good fixtures as well!
