Sleeper Draft Fantasy FC Week 3
In this article, we are covering Hidden gems and less rostered players. The likes of Mbeumo, Semenyo, and Bailey are all good Differentials picks for this week but would have been already selected by other players in your draft league. So we are only covering players who are very less rostered and are Hidden Gems in your Draft leagues who you can possibly get from the Free market.
Nedeljkovic- Aston Villa
GW3 Opponent: Leicester City(A)
With Matty Cash ruled out for a month due to an injury- Nedeljkovic is the first choice right back for Aston Villa right now. He came on for Matty Cash vs Arsenal and played 74 minutes and looked good despite Villa losing the game. Emery has hinted that he likes to play Konsa as CB and Cash/Nedeljkovic as the right-backs.
Nedeljkovic is an excellent punt for GW3 as he is very likely to start. He could be a good pick long-term as well since Villa aren’t likely to sign a RB on the Transfer Deadline day.
Milenkovic- Forest
GW3 Opponent: Wolves(H)
Milenkovic from Forest is up against Wolves(H) in GW3. Wolves do not have the momentum on their side after losing 2-0 to Arsenal in GW1 and 6-2 to Chelsea in GW2. On the other hand, Forest put up a good defensive performance in GW2 vs Southampton keeping a clean sheet and restricting Saints to just 1 Shot on Target and 0 Big Chances.
Milenkovic also has good attacking threat and should have also got a goal in GW2 with 3 Shots inside the Box, 2 Big Chances and 1.0 xG.
Elanga- Forest
GW3 Opponent: Wolves(H)
Opponent Right Wingers vs Wolves:
- GW1: Saka- Goal, Assist,12 Points
- GW2: Madueke- 3 Goals, 20 Points
Wolves have conceded 12 chances from their Left flank so far(2nd Highest) indicating a clear Weakness on Ait Nouri’s side. Elanga plays exactly there- On the Forest right wing which makes the case for a strong matchup. Although Elanga has not returned with any goals/assists so far he has good numbers with 5 Chances created(1 Big Chance created). He is also corner duty and put in 9 crosses(2 accurate crosses) in GW2 which suggests that there are good chances of Elanga getting attacking returns.
Tavernier- Bournemouth
GW3 Opponent: Everton(A)
Tavernier got a goal in the 1-1 draw vs Newcastle in GW2. Across the 2 games, Tavernier put up good underlying numbers- 7 Shots, 2 Big Chance Involvements, 7 Chances Created, 1.42 xG. He also put in 9 crosses, Took 4 corners, and 2 Free Kicks into the box.
Up against an Everton side who have conceded 7 goals from 2 games and are ranked 2nd worst in the league for Expected Goals Conceded and Big Chances Conceded, Tavernier should fancy his chances to get some attacking returns in GW3.
Hutchinson- Ipswich
GW3 Opponent: Fulham(H)
Even though Ipswich have not hit the ground running, we should remember that they have played Liverpool and Manchester City in the first 2 games. Hutchinson is one of the integral players in the Ipswich squad having got 10 goals and 6 assists in the Championship last season. From the 2 games so far, Hutchinson had 3 shots, recorded 0.28 xG, and was getting into good attacking positions.
Fulham’s numbers away from home last season were not the best with only 24 Goals scored(6th worst) and 37 conceded(6th most) which is bang average in both departments.
Evanilson- Bournemouth
GW3 Opponent: Everton(A)
Evanilson made his Bournemouth debut in GW2 playing 72 minutes in the 1-1 draw vs Newcastle. He did look good with 3 Shots(2 Shots on Target) and recorded one Big chance with 0.75 xG. Evanlison is a clinical striker as seen from his exploits at Porto last season getting 25 goals, 7 assists from 42 games. If you are not sure thinking if he can fit into Intense Premier League football, he got 4 goals, and 1 assist from 7 games in the Champions League last season.
Evanilson couldn’t ask for a much better game than Everton to start scoring for his new club. Everton have been in poor form starting the season losing 4-0 to Tottenham and 3-0 to Brighton in the first 2 games.
Other Honourable mentions:
- Leif Davies
- Pedro Neto
- Sugawara
- Tielemans
- Szmodics
- Wissa
