EURO Fantasy Best Midfielders to Target
Kevin De Bruyne, Price: 9.5m, TSB: 21%
Fixtures:
While KDB did not play much for Belgium during the Euro qualification phase (only 1 game), he is nailed in the Belgium midfield, and will be instrumental in their attack if they are to have a good tournament like the bookmakers predict. He is on corners and set pieces and they have great fixtures for the entirety of the group stage. In 99 appearances for his nation, he has amassed an impressive 26 goals and 49 assists!
Bruno Fernandes, Price: 9m, TSB: 18%
Fixtures:
Bruno is a “must own” for the Group stage in my opinion, just looking at Portugal’s fixtures alone. He picked up 6 goals and 8 assists during the Euro qualifiers. He will be second to Ronaldo on penalties, but he is nailed, on set pieces and is the heartbeat of this Portugal midfield. He will provide a good captaincy fallback if all fails as well, since Portugal play on last day in each of MD1-MD3.
Most Assists in Euro Qualifiers:
- Bruno Fernandes: 8
- Mbappe: 5
- Pukki: 5
- Dumfries: 5

Bukayo Saka, Price: 8.5m, TSB: 11%
Fixtures:
You may have noticed that I left out Bellingham and Foden from this article, but they are equally good picks and they should of course also be considered. I’ve selected Saka simply because he is the cheaper of the three players and he is also on some set pieces. He is nailed in the England team and he had a good qualification phase with 4 goals and 2 assists.

İlkay Gündoğan, Price: 7m, TSB: 6%
Fixtures:
My choice of the Germany midfielders would be İlkay Gündoğan. The penalties and price edge it for me and there is also the bonus of ball recoveries with Gündo compared to the other attackers. There is a great wealth of talent in this Germany team, however the other attackers such as Wirtz and Sane could be subbed off early in some of the games, whether it be to give the fringe plays minutes or to push for a goal if needed. It should also be noted that since Kroos has been reintegrated into the team in one of the holding midfield roles, this has given Gündo the chance to push up into the central attacking midfield role, which bodes quite well for the Germany captain.

Dominik Szoboszlai, Price: 7m, TSB: 13%
Fixtures:
The talisman of the Hungarian team. 100% nailed, on penalties, set pieces and corners. This is the kind of midfield pick that can get you points even in the tougher games. He picked up 4 goals and 5 assists in the qualifiers. He also loves taking a long shot, and of course we will be awarded with extra points if one of these were find the back of the net.
Christian Eriksen, Price: 7m, TSB: 3%
Fixtures:
The central midfielder is the talisman and is integral to everything that Denmark does. Even though he may not be as prolific as he once was, he will be on penalties, set pieces and corners and is usually nailed for 90+ minutes. He also picked up 1 goal and 3 assists in the qualifiers and they will be aiming for nothing less than 3 points against Slovenia in MD1, which will be their easiest group stage fixture on paper.
Eriksen Stats in Euro Qualifiers:
- Matches: 6
- Goals: 1
- Shots per game: 2.5
- Assists: 3
- Big Chances Created: 5
- Key Passes per game: 3.8
- Ball Recoveries per game: 6.5

Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Price: 6.5m, TSB: 5%
Fixtures:
Turkey probably has one the best MD1 fixtures from an attacking perspective as they face minnows Georgia, the only nation at Euro 2024 to be making their debut at the European Championship. Çalhanoğlu is on set pieces, corners and is a key figure in the Turkey team with 18 goals and 15 assists over his 84 appearances. It will be important to monitor Turkey’s friendly fixtures leading up to the tournament; if it looks like Semih Kılıçsoy starts ahead of the out of form Cenk Tosun, then Çalhanoğlu will most likely be on penalties as well! Credit to @EnesGnerDoan23 for providing clarity here on the penalty situation for Turkey.
Xherdan Shaqiri, Price: 6.5m, TSB: 1%
Fixtures:
If you are looking for a slice of the Switzerland attack against Hungary in MD1, followed by Scotland in MD2, then look no further than Shaqiri. He’s on penalties and set pieces for his nation and the 32-year-old will be looking to go out on a high as this may be his last major tournament. He picked up 2 goals and 3 assists in the qualifiers.
Shaqiri Stats at Euro Qualifiers:
- Matches: 7
- Goals: 2
- Assists: 3
- Shots per game: 1.7
- Ball Recoveries per game: 3.6
- Chances Created: 25
- Big Chances Created: 7
- Big Chances Missed: 2

Marcel Sabitzer, Price: 6.5m, TSB: 1%
Fixtures:
While Austria has tough fixtures in MD1 and MD3, people who are planning to use a chip like the Wildcard in MD2 can afford to target Sabitzer who is facing a Poland team who were not that impressive in qualification. He provides a good threat from the attacking midfield role, and he is on penalties for Austria, picking up an impressive 4 goals and 2 assists in qualifiers. He has also played an instrumental role in Dortmund making it to the UCL final this year.
Dušan Tadić, Price: 6.5m, TSB: 0%
Fixtures:
Serbia’s midfield maestro, and the most capped player in the national team with 106 caps. He picked up 2 goals 4 assists in qualifiers and 9 goals and 13 assists for Fenerbache this season! Similarly to Sabitzer, he can be a decent option to target in MD2 with the Wildcard/Limitless when they have a great fixture against Slovenia. He is on set pieces and corners and will be playing behind two strikers in Mitrovic and Vlahovic, who know how to find the back of the net.
To conclude, similar to my Defenders thread, (which you can read here: Euro Fantasy Defenders to Target at Every price point), I have created a table below using Opta data. It illustrates the numbers after analyzing the attacking performance and creative output of the midfielders mentioned in this article, together with their underlying statistics during the Euro 2024 Qualifiers.
