Matchdays and Deadlines:
EURO 2024 Fantasy Football works by matchdays. There are seven matchdays in total, corresponding to the three rounds of games in the group stage, plus the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The deadline for every Matchday is listed here.
Gameweek | Deadline | Number of Matches |
Matchday 1 | 14 June 21:00 CET | 12 |
Matchday 2 | 19 June 15:00 CET | 12 |
Matchday 3 | 23 June 21:00 CET | 12 |
Round of 16 | 29 June 18:00 CET | 8 |
Quarter-finals | 05 July 18:00 CET | 4 |
Semi-finals | 09 July 21:00 CET | 2 |
Final | 14 July 21:00 CET | 1 |
- The deadline for every matchday will be the first kick off for that matchday.
- You can however make substitutes and captaincy changes for that matchday even after the Matchday deadline. More on substitutes and Captaincy covered below.
- Any transfers you make after the deadline will only come into effect for the following matchday.
Substitutions in Euro Fantasy
From the 15 players, you have picked you need to start 11 players and have 4 substitutes. Your 11 should have any viable formation (at least 3 DEFs, 1 GK, 2 MIDS, 1 FWD).
Unlike FPL, EURO Fantasy has Manual Subs. That means that if any of your starting players doesn’t score as many points as you would have liked, you can sub them off for a player on your bench who is yet to play and who you might think will score you more points later in the matchday.
After all matches on a single day have finished and before the next matches within that matchday kick off, you can:
• Sub out a maximum of 4 players (unless they’ve been sent off), and replace them with any of your subs whose teams are yet to play within the matchday. Any players you sub out will score 0 points for that matchday.
TIP: A key way to utilize the substitutions the best is to bench players who have fixtures late in the Matchday (i.e. Group E/F) so that if unfancied players score points early in the Matchday, you can hold their points. Hence, try have a squad that covers matches from different days within a Matchday.
Automatic Substitutions in Euro Fantasy
Auto Subs still occur, as you can order your bench to priorities players coming on. Key things to note:
- Once you’ve made Manual Subs or Changed Captain, if players in your Starting XI don’t play, they won’t be automatically subbed out. In simple terms, Auto subs become invalid if manual subs are made.
- If you switch bench order after Matchday has started, this counts as a Manual Sub, so no Auto Subs will occur after this in the Matchday.
TIP: Order your bench before the 1st match in a Matchday. So if you don’t make Manual Subs, the Subs that automatically come on have the highest points potential.
Transfers in Euro Fantasy
First things first, you can make unlimited transfers till the tournament starts, ie. Matchday 1 Deadline.
You will be given a certain number of Free Transfers per Matchday(listed below), and any further transfers to those will result in -4 from the Overall score. Managers will be provided with unlimited transfers up until Matchday 1, and between Matchday 3 & Round of 16. You can only roll a max of 1 transfer to the next Matchday in the group stages.
Points to Note:
- If you use your Wildcard or Limitless chip, then no free transfers get carried forward.
- Once the knockout stage starts, you can’t carry any free transfers forward between matchdays.

Chips in Euro Fantasy
There are 2 Chips available in Euro Fantasy. You can use these chips in any of the Matchdays except for Matchday 1 and Matchday 4(Round of 16) where you get unlimited transfers.
- Wildcard – Unlimited transfers, keep the same squad after the Matchday deadline has passed. If you’ve made transfers then played your Wildcard, those transfers and points deductions will be removed.
- Limitless – Unlimited transfers, no budget restrictions! Squad returns to what it was before after the Matchday passes.
Scoring Points in Euro Fantasy
The general points scoring is similar to FPL with Defenders getting 6 points for a goal, Midfielders getting 5 points and Forwards getting 4 points. Defenders and GKs get 4 points for a clean sheet while Midfielders get one point. For GKs, there is one point for every 3 saves made.
The given below image summarizes the points for all players in Euro Fantasy- Irrespective of their positions.
Key Difference between FPL and Euro Fantasy- Points scoring
FPL | 2024 Euro Fantasy | |
Goals outside the Box | No points | +1 point |
Ball Recoveries | No points | 3 Ball recoveries= +1 point |
Winning a penalty | +3 points | +2 points |
Bonus Points/Player of the Match | The Top 3 players as per BPS system are awarded 3,2 and 1 Bonus Points respectively | Only one players gets the Player of the Match award. This award is decided by UEFA’s technical observer panel. This player gets +3 points |
Other Key Points in Euro Fantasy:
- Clean Sheets – Points given when played at least 60 mins, if subbed and the team then concedes they keep their points.
- Red Cards – Continue to be penalized for goals conceded after being sent off. You can move captaincy from red-carded players, but can’t sub these players.
- Penalties- When a penalty is awarded for handball, no points are awarded or deducted
- Assists – Given whenever he plays final pass, cross, header, or shot that leads to a goal. Includes set pieces, rebounds, and assisting own goals. When it comes to passes, it must be deemed an intentional pass to count as an assist. Miscontrolled touches or other unintentional passes that go straight to a team-mate are not counted. Players also get points for an assist if a goal is scored on the rebound when they’ve shot against the post or bar – or if the rebound comes off an opposing player.
- Extra Time & Penalty Shootout – Points will continue to be scored in ET but not in penalty shootout
How Captaincy works in Euro Fantasy
Applying the armband will double that players points for that Matchday. You can change your captain to another player from your squad whose team are yet to play. Your original captain’s double-points bonus will be lost, and your new captain’s score for that matchday will be doubled.
If your captain doesn’t score as highly as you’d like, you’ll have the option to switch to another player who is in action on a later day within that matchday. This gives you the chance to double the score of a different player you think will do better. However, bear in mind that if you aren’t happy with your new captain’s score, you won’t be able to change back. And you can’t ever select a captain who’s already played in that matchday.
Example with a scenario:
The above image contains the Matchday 1 schedule. For example, You are captaining Havertz in the first game vs Scotland. He blanks and scores only 2 points. Then you can switch your Captaincy to Mbappe before the Austria vs France game.
TIP: To best utilize captaincy, give the armband to someone playing on the first few days of the Matchday, then if they don’t score points, pass on to those who play later.
