FPL GW3 Transfer Targets
Ruben Dias MCI Β£5.5
Projected Points GW3-6: 17.5
With back-to-back clean sheets, Manchester City reminded us who the best defense in the league is. Manchester City now embarks on a run of good fixtures which sees them have the 2nd easiest fixtures for defenders over the next 5 GWs making their defensive assets great picks if you can nail the one who is more likely to play.
Team | GW3 | GW4 | GW5 | GW6 | GW7 |
Man City | SHU (A) | FUL (H) | WHU (A) | NFO (H) | WOL (A) |
For now, I think, Dias still remains their best defensive option for expected minutes, as he should continue to start most games. Man City has also shown just how good defensively they are to start the season with only a 0.62 xGC. Also, in the two games Man City havenβt conceded a single big chance!
While his 0.07 xGI per 90 mins last season was poor, Dias does make up for it with his high likelihood of clean sheet points. I know Man City options can be frustrating to own, but with this type of fixture, they are worth the risk.
Phil Foden MCI Β£7.5
Projected Points GW3-6: 19.2
With 7 chances created against one of the best defenses in the league in Newcastle, Foden was magnificent with a man-of-the-match performance. With the injuries and departures of key figures in the Manchester City attack, Foden seems to have an increase in his expected minutes in the upcoming GWs as he plays the KDB role.
In the next 5 GWs, Manchester City has the 2nd easiest attacking schedule making a double up in the attack with Haaland a high upside play. With a 0.51 xGI per 90 minutes last season, Foden has the explosive underlying stats which can lead to multiple double-digit hauls. With great underlying stats, awesome fixtures, and an increase in his expected minutes, Foden should be a transfer target for most managers.

Nicolas Jackson CHE Β£7.0
Projected Points GW3-6: 20.4
With back-to-back 1-pointers, Nicolas Jackson has not delivered as the striker for Chelsea. Despite his back-to-back blanks, Jackson should still be at the forefront of the forward options to bring in this GW, as Chelsea has great upcoming fixtures, and Jackson has posted good enough underlying stats to make a punt on him worthwhile. Fixtures are king in FPL, and Chelsea has the best set of fixtures from an attacking perspective over the next 5 GWs giving Jackson plenty of opportunities to finally deliver for fantasy managers.
In a limited sample size, Jackson has put up 0.69 xGI per 90 minutes showing that he has gotten good chances to score. With amazing fixtures and good underlying stats, moving to a Jackson this GW, is the type of gamble that could pay off massively if it hits.
