Top Transfers Ins and Outs Ahead of FPL GW21
Chelsea wingback James makes the top of the transfers out list after a hamstring injury and a relatively poor run of form, with 708k managers shipping him out. Gallagher comes in 2nd with 467k transfers after a sudden positive COVID test.
235k managers have had enough of Bernardo’s blanks, and 222k managers are eager to swap out Salah despite one more game against Chelsea before heading off to AFCON. Vardy sees 201k managers take him out after a hamstring injury.
On the flip side, West Ham duo Bowen and Antonio make the top two of the top transfers in list, with 608k and 362k managers bringing them in respectively. Their double gameweek makes it no surprise that they are hot prospects at the moment.
Son sees 234k managers bring him in to target the fixture against Watford, and Watford forward Dennis sees another 176k transfers in after a goal in GW20. Finally, Everton’s Demarai Gray makes the 5th place spot of the list, with 152k managers eager to target Everton’s double gameweek in GW21.
The 3 transfer combinations we will be focusing on are: Gallagher to Bowen, Lacazette to Antonio, and James to Reguilon.
Top Three FPL GW21 Transfer Trends Combinations
FPL GW21 Transfer Combination 1:
Conor Gallagher (£6.2) to Jarrod Bowen (£6.6)
The news of Gallagher’s sudden positive COVID-test result has prompted 29.6% of managers to make the swap to one of the hottest prospects heading into DGW21: West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen.
With favourable double fixtures, Bowen is coming off of a glorious 14 point haul with a hat-trick of assists against Watford. He is an excellent captaincy shout for this Double Gameweek.
Additionally, he is the first among sub-£7m midfielders for shots on target (18), shots in the box (33), big chances (9), and big chances created (7). He is also 2nd best among sub-£7m midfielders for touches in the box (92) and total shots (45).
Who do West Ham face in GW21?
West Ham play Crystal Palace away and Norwich at home in GW21. For away games only, Crystal Palace are worst for chances conceded from set pieces (13) and 3rd worst for total shots conceded (146). In all away games, they have only kept 1 clean sheet.
More importantly, the Norwich game at home will be one West Ham could run riot against. Norwich are worst for shots on target conceded (104), 2nd worst for total shots conceded (290), 2nd worst for shots in the box conceded (190), and joint worst for total goals conceded (42).
Bowen, Antonio, and possibly other West Ham attacking assets could go big in this first Double Gameweek!
FPL GW21 Transfer Combination 2:
Alexandre Lacazette (£8.4) to Michail Antonio (£7.8)
Lacazette’s blank in GW20 as well as a tough fixture to Man City in GW21 sees 14.8% of managers set their sights on West Ham forward Michail Antonio.
Antonio scored an assist against Watford, claiming 5 points for owners. With a favourable Double Gameweek, he is another standout pick from the West Ham side.
Among all forwards, he is 2nd best for total shots (51), 2nd best for shots in the box (41), 2nd best for big chances (12), and joint 1st for touches in the box (98) and big chances created (6).

FPL GW21 Transfer Combination 3:
Reece James (£6.3) to Sergio Reguilon (£5.4)
Chelsea’s Reece James’ hamstring injury is a clear sign for managers to look elsewhere for defensive options. One of the more nailed and better attacking defenders from the Spurs defense would be Sergio Reguilon, with 86% of managers already making the swap.
In the last 5 gameweeks, Spurs have conceded the least amount of big chances (1), the least amount of shots on target (8), the 3rd least amount of total shots conceded (31), and the 4th least amount of shots in the box (18).
While Conte appears to still be getting to grips with the new squad at his disposal, it seems that he has worked on solidifying the defense, while giving the wingbacks such as Emerson Royal and Sergio Reguilon a bit of attacking freedom.
Owners of Reguilon from the last gameweek may be disappointed after his 0 pointer, but he is worth a hold and is a decent James replacement, as Spurs have decent fixtures in the long run and still have 3 favourable fixtures in hand, meaning he could be seeing a double gameweek very soon.
Who do Spurs face in GW21?
Spurs play Watford away in GW21. Despite having a couple of games off for rest, Watford conceded 5 big chances (joint worst), 6 shots on target (joint 2nd worst), and 4 goals in their game against West Ham in GW20. They are still the only team yet to keep a clean sheet.
This would be the standout single GW fixture to target in this gameweek, with Reguilon being a good James replacement.
That has been 3 potential transfer combinations that FPL managers could consider prior to the Gameweek 21 deadline. Hope this blog provided a bit of insight on viable FPL moves you could take!
