Welcome to the FPL Gameweek 4 Captaincy metrics blog. This week is an interesting one for captaincy as Liverpool face newly promoted Burnley(A). The top FPL Gameweek 4 Captain Picks include Haaland, Salah, Ekitike, Joao Pedro, and Mateta. Let’s see who comes out on top of the captaincy metrics.
This season, we have a 2/3 returns record. Last season, the metrics finished with 686 pts(26/38 returns), the metrics had a “26/38 returns record” in the 23/24 season, 31/37 “returns record” in the 22/23 season, and “30/38 returns record” in the 21/22 season. Total metrics points: 14 + 4 + 18 = 36 points
Note: “Returns” ~ player topping the metrics getting points returns and not necessarily the highest scoring option of the week.

FPL GW4 Captaincy Metrics
FPL GW4 Captaincy poll ~ Wisdom Of the Crowd

Mo Salah tops the captaincy metrics with 42% of the votes and will be facing Burnley. Haaland(vs Kosovo), who scored 5 goals in one game during the INTL break, is 2nd in the captaincy poll with 17% of the votes. Ekitike is 3rd in the captaincy poll with 8% of the votes, Isak is not expected to star,t which means Ekitike’s minutes aren’t a concern in the short term.
Arne Slot on Isak in the pre-Burnley press conference: Don’t expect Alex(Isak) to be on for 90 minutes in every game over the next few weeks. He missed pre-season, so it’s going to be a challenge. But we signed him for six years, not the next few weeks. Fans have to bear that in mind if they see him not playing.
The top five in the captaincy poll is completed by Joao Pedro, who’ll be facing Brentford(A,) and Mateta, who’ll be facing Sunderland(H).
Marseca on Joao Pedro: There is a “question mark” over Moises Caicedo, Joao Pedro, Estevao, and Andrey Santos for Saturday’s game because of their demanding South American international break.
