Best Mid-Priced FPL Midfielders (£6.5 -£8.0 Million) | 25/26 Season

Welcome back, fellow FPL obsessives! Hope the spreadsheets are flying and the drafts multiplying—because if you haven’t torn your team apart at least ten times already, are you even really playing FPL?

Last time, we talked about the budget midfielders—those little plug wires that quietly power your FPL racing car. But now, we’re moving up the grid. Today’s focus is on the mid-priced FPL midfielders (£6.5m–£8.0m)—the turbochargers of your squad. Not as flashy as the premium engines, but boy, can they accelerate your season when tuned just right. Fun fact: Two midfielders in this bracket zoomed past the 200-point finish line last year. So buckle up—we’re about to rev through the sweet spot of value and potential!

Best Mid-Priced FPL Midfielders

Arsenal Midfielders

Best Mid-Priced FPL Midfielders - Arsenal
  • Declan Rice (£6.5m) – MID, Arsenal – 7.4% TSB
  • Martin Ødegaard (£8.0m) – MID, Arsenal – 3.3% TSB
  • Noni Madueke (£7.0m) – MID, Arsenal – 1.7% TSB
  • Leandro Trossard (£7.0m) – MID, Arsenal – 1.5% TSB
  • Gabriel Martinelli (£7.0m) – MID, Arsenal – 1.4% TSB

Rare to see so many mid-priced Gunners as differentials (less than 10% ownership), but there’s a good reason for that. Like ghosts trapped in a Gothic manor, these Arsenal mids drift in shadow. Possessing power, but cursed by an ominous fixture list, they haunt Gameweeks 1–6 with uncertainty. Madueke—an enigma from a parallel plane. Trossard and Martinelli? Restless spirits are rumoured to vanish soon. Until the mists clear, steer your FPL chariot clear of this haunted house.

Morgan Rogers (£7.0m) – MID, Aston Villa – 25.3% TSB

Best Mid-Priced FPL Midfielders - Morgan Rogers

A cartoon rocket with a cape and blazing boots—Rogers is your superhero mid! In a fixture schedule that reads like a child’s candy wish list, he’s already soared through pre-season with 2 goals. With 161 points last season and a stat sheet louder than a Saturday morning toon, Rogers isn’t just value—he’s FPL animation incarnate.

Tielemans? A background character. This is Rogers’ show.

Even if you want to save that £1.0m, there are better £6.0m assets, in fact, even better £5.5m assets.

Watkins–Rogers is a must-have for those AVL fixtures.

Antoine Semenyo (£7.0m) – MID, Bournemouth – 5.2% TSB

Justin Kluivert (£7.0m) – MID, Bournemouth – 4.8% TSB

Best Mid-Priced FPL Midfielders - Semenyo

Bournemouth assets are being criminally overlooked this time. Probably, people are getting shortsighted by their opening fixture. But beyond that, they sit joint top on fixture ratings.

From the depths of myth, Semenyo and Kluivert rise like twin titans. Semenyo, the brute force—storming box entries like Hercules in a bar brawl. Kluivert, the sly trickster—flicking penalties and key passes like he’s weaving illusions.

Best Mid-Priced FPL Midfielders - Semenyo vs Kluivert

They racked up over 320 FPL points combined last season. Choose your myth: thunder or finesse. Either way, let at least one guard your team’s gate.

If there’s a choice between the two, I would go with Kluivert as he is on penalties.

Do note: Kluivert has missed most of the pre-season games due to an injury, do watch out for injury updates going into GW1 if you’re planning to consider him over Semenyo.

Enzo Fernández (£6.5m) – MID, Chelsea – 4.2% TSB

Best Mid-Priced FPL Midfielders - Enzo Fernandez

I have seen a few drafts with Enzo Fernández based on the new rule that helps defensive midfielders. So I thought of analyzing the Argentine’s appeal. But I realized our brother @chewiefpl has done a detailed thread on how many points Enzo would have scored with the new points system.

A stone statue in a Roman forum—noble, immovable, and perhaps more ornamental than effective. Enzo’s appeal grows under new rules favouring defensive mids, but even his enhanced 145-point projection feels like a relic. When Caicedo shadows him with nearly the same numbers at a £1.0m discount, it’s best to admire Enzo from afar like a marble bust—beautiful, but best left untouched.

PS – Do check out his thread. He has covered Bruno, Rice, and Gabriel-Saliba too. Very interesting inferences.

Ismaïla Sarr (£6.5m) – MID, Crystal Palace – 2.2% TSB

Eberechi Eze (£7.5m) – MID, Crystal Palace – 9.1% TSB

Eze is the jazz mage—dancing in the final third with spells of dribbling flair. Sarr, on the other hand, is a warrior bard—direct, loud, and always storming the castle. Their stats are so evenly matched, it’s a poetic duel.

But in this tale, saving the extra gold (aka £1.0m) makes Sarr the bard of choice. The Crystal Palace pre-season form sings loudly this pre-season. Join the choir. Having 2-3 out of Sarr, Eze, Mateta, and Muñoz is a necessity, especially GW4 onwards.

Iliman Ndiaye (£6.5m) – MID, Everton – 12.1% TSB

Ndiaye is a high-wire circus act, no net. Daring. Dazzling. And very likely to fall. On pens, with good fixtures and a goal against Man Utd in preseason, yes—but Everton’s attack is less carnival, more graveyard. Only the boldest of ringmasters will bet on this act, because:

  1. Everton scored 42 goals last season – only the relegated teams scored fewer. Basically, don’t expect many goals from Everton players
  2. There are many better options at the £6.5m price point – Kudus, Sarr, etc.

If you seek glory and chaos, Ndiaye is your tightrope. For the rest, safer ground lies elsewhere.

Phil Foden (£8.0m) – MID, Man City – 3.2% TSB

Foden is the elven prince returned from exile, glistening in World Cup silver and glory. His Club World Cup form was mythic—3 goals, 1 assist, lightning in his boots. With De Bruyne’s shadow fading, Foden may claim the throne of creativity in Pep’s enchanted dominion. He’s low-owned, high-magic, and ready to enchant FPL realms once again.

Bryan Mbeumo (£8.0m) – MID, Man Utd – 17.2% TSB

Matheus Cunha (£8.0m) – MID, Man Utd – 10.9% TSB

Mbeumo and Cunha are two knights newly sworn to the Red Kingdom. But their blades aren’t yet sharpened for this terrain. No penalties for Mbeumo. Harsh opening quests await—battles with dragons like Arsenal, Man City, and Chelsea. Let them gather their bearings before you summon them to your court. For now, a noble wait.

Morgan Gibbs-White (£7.5m) – MID, Nott’m Forest – 4.7% TSB

Here’s a maniac workhorse who is supremely fit, keeps racking up FPL points and is on penalties for a team which qualified for European football last season.

SeasonFPL PointsStarts
2024/2515434
2023/2414235
2022/2314536

A relentless forge-dwarf hammering points week after week—Gibbs-White is a player of grit, sweat, and iron. Forest’s fixtures are favourable, and the stage is set. He may not dazzle like a firework, but like a good forge tool, he delivers strength, durability, and end product.

Mohammed Kudus (£6.5m) – MID, Spurs – 26.1% TSB

Brennan Johnson (£7.0m) – MID, Spurs – 3.4% TSB

In the land of Tottenham, two gods emerge—Kudus, the chosen one, and Johnson, the trickster rogue with a sharper dagger. Kudus leads in ownership, but Johnson quietly conquers the numbers. Shots, goals, involvement—he edges the duel. With Son gone and Maddison down, both carry Spurs’ fate on their backs. But Johnson’s been here longer—his sword is sharper.

Take the rogue. Johnson maybe worth the extra £0.5m outlay.

A host of other assets have not been mentioned, including big names like Gakpo, Elanga and Gordon. The reason ranges from xMins risk to fixture difficulty. That doesn’t mean they are bad resources. It just means they are wait and watch while there’s more value elsewhere.
