FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Buy, Hold & Sell

GW13 saw most of the big guns deliver, including Salah, Palmer, and Saka. Many managers captained or even triple-captained these FPL behemoths. As a result, the average score was the highest since GW3.

GW14 marks the first mid-week gameweek of the season. Teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Brighton have fixtures turning in their favour, while Brentford and Nottingham Forest face tougher schedules. With the busy December period ahead, careful planning is crucial.

So, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want 😊

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY

PS – I am not mentioning Salah, as he is non-negotiable at this point. I assume he is already in your team.

Chelsea Chargers

Nicolas Jackson (£8.1m) – FWD, Chelsea – 26.1% TSB

Cole Palmer (£11.0m) – MID, Chelsea – 57.4% TSB

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY- Palmer and Jackson

Imagine outshining Salah in his current scintillating form—that’s precisely what Nicolas Jackson has managed to achieve. Since the start of last Premier League season, he leads in non-penalty goals scored:

  • 22 – Nicolas Jackson
  • 20 – Mo Salah

But it doesn’t stop there. Jackson also boasts the best shot conversion rate in the Premier League this season (25.8% for players with 25+ shots).

Among forwards this season, Jackson ranks:

  • 1st for Goal Involvements
  • 1st for Assists
  • 2nd for Shots on Target
  • 2nd for Key Passes
  • 3rd for Shots in the Box
  • 3rd for Big Chances
  • 3rd for xG
  • 3rd for Goals Scored
  • 3rd for Big Chances Created
  • 3rd for xGI
  • 3rd for xPts
  • 3rd for BPS
  • 3rd for FPL Points

What truly sets Jackson apart is his stellar away form—he is the top-scoring forward in away games this season. Chelsea now faces Southampton away, a fixture where Jackson shone the last time he faced a promoted side away, delivering 12 points.

Jackson isn’t the only Chelsea star making waves. Cole Palmer is also excelling:

Among midfielders, Palmer ranks:

  • 2nd for Shots
  • 2nd for Shots on Target
  • 2nd for Key Passes
  • 2nd for Goals
  • 2nd for xGI
  • 2nd for xPts
  • 2nd for BPS
  • 2nd for FPL Points
  • 3rd for Bonus Points
  • 3rd for xG
  • 2nd for Big Chances Created
  • 3rd for Big Chances
  • 3rd for Goal Involvements
  • 3rd for Assists

This week, both players face a Southampton side struggling defensively, ranking:

  • 18th for Big Chances Conceded
  • 18th for Goals Conceded
  • 19th for Shots Conceded
  • 19th for Shots in Box Conceded
  • 19th for Shots on Target Conceded
  • 19th for xCS
  • 19th for xGC
  • 20th for NPxGC
  • 20th for Shots from Set Pieces Conceded

With several key players—Ramsdale, Downes, Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek, and Dibling—unavailable, Palmer and Jackson have the perfect opportunity to dismantle the Saints’ defense.

Beyond this gameweek, the pair also benefit from a favorable run of fixtures, making them enticing picks for the weeks ahead.

Hence, I strongly recommend buying both Palmer and Jackson—emphasis on the AND.

Bournemouth Bombers

Francisco Evanilson (£6.0m) – FWD, Bournemouth – 2.7% TSB

Justin Kluivert (£5.4m) – MID, Bournemouth – 2.1% TSB

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY- Kluivert and Evanilson

While Wood, Cunha, Pedro, and Wissa have been grabbing all the attention as budget forwards, Evanilson has quietly and consistently delivered under the radar.

Over the last eight gameweeks, Bournemouth ranks 6th in both xG and goals scored—a remarkable feat considering they faced Arsenal, Man City, and Aston Villa during this period.

During this time, the Brazilian forward stands out among forwards with:

  • 1st for Goal Involvements
  • 1st for Assists
  • 2nd for FPL Points
  • 2nd for Bonus Points
  • 3rd for BPS
  • 3rd for Shots on Target

With Iraola’s team set for an intriguing and favorable run of fixtures in December, Evanilson could prove to be an exciting differential pick.

His partner in crime, Justin Kluivert, has quietly been making a significant impact. Over the last six gameweeks, Kluivert has been a standout among midfielders, ranking:

  • 2nd for Shots on Target
  • 2nd for Big Chances
  • 2nd for xG
  • 2nd for Goals
  • 2nd for xGI
  • 2nd for xPts
  • 2nd for FPL points

The FDR rating of 4 against Spurs shouldn’t be a concern—Ange Postecoglou’s side has managed only three clean sheets all season. Beyond that, Bournemouth’s fixtures are highly favorable, presenting a promising run ahead.

While owning both Evanilson and Kluivert might be overkill, depending on your squad structure, picking either one could prove to be a savvy choice.

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD

Matheus Cunha (£7.1m) – FWD, Wolves – 23.4% TSB

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Hold- Cunha

Over 53,000 managers have already sold Cunha this week following just one blank, but it’s important to note that this blank came after a strong run of four consecutive returns.

Since GW5, among forwards, Cunhadinho has ranked:

  • 1st for FPL points
  • 1st for BPS
  • 1st for Bonus Points
  • 1st for Goal Involvements
  • 1st for Key Passes
  • 1st for Big Chances Created
  • 1st for xA
  • 2nd for goals scored
  • 2nd for Assists

His medium-term fixtures still look promising, making him a solid option moving forward.

Therefore, I’d say keep hold of Cunha—he’s worth hanging on to until Christmas, no need to gift him away just yet!

Jarrod Bowen (£7.4m) – MID, West Ham – 6.3%

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Hold- Bowen

32,000 managers have parted ways with Bowen, frustrated by his third blank in four games. However, the fixtures are now looking much more favorable for the Hammers.

Even during the challenging run up to GW13, Bowen ranked in the Top 10 among midfielders for:

  • Shots on Target
  • Goal Involvements
  • Key Passes
  • xA
  • Assists
  • FPL Points

Looking ahead to GW14, Bowen faces Leicester, who are struggling defensively, ranking:-

  • 20th for Shots in the Box conceded
  • 19th for Big Chances conceded
  • 19th for Goals Conceded
  • 18th for Shots conceded
  • 18th for NPxGC
  • 18th for xGC
  • 18th for xCS
  • 1 Clean Sheet

So, hold tight to Bowen—he’s got a great chance to deliver with these favorable fixtures ahead.

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL

Bryan Mbeumo (£7.8m) – MID, Brentford – 35.8% TSB

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Sell- Mbeumo

“You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”

― The Dark Knight

How the mighty have fallen. Mbeumo, once an essential pick, now finds himself in a shocking slump. His stats over the last four gameweeks are nothing short of dismal:

  • 0 shots on target
  • 0 big chances
  • 0 goals
  • 0 big chances created
  • 0 throughballs attempted
  • 0 successful throughballs

What’s even more surprising is that during these four gameweeks, he faced Fulham, Bournemouth, Everton, and Leicester—teams where you’d expect returns.

With his fixtures now becoming more difficult and his form in freefall, it might be time to cash in on his increased price and part ways with Mbeumo.

Chris Wood (£6.6m) – FWD, Nott’m Forest – 22.8% TSB

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Sell- Chris Wood

Forest enjoyed a fantastic run of fixtures up until GW10, during which Wood scored 66 points, placing him just behind Haaland among forwards.

In GW11 and GW12, Wood faced tough opponents in Newcastle and Arsenal, resulting in blanks. In GW13, he had a favorable matchup against Ipswich and returned 9 points. From GW14 onwards, Forest’s fixtures take a turn for the worse.

With a multitude of budget forwards vying for your attention, it’s wise to part ways with the Kiwi star.
