FPL GW4 Transfer Targets & Watchlist Based on Eye Test & Stats

Welcome to FPL PAZ’s Transfer Targets and Watchlist, where I highlight the THREE best transfer targets in each position for the upcoming gameweeks. The goal is to give managers a watchlist for both the immediate gameweek and future gameweeks. All picks are analyzed with stats, fixtures, and current form. LET’S GET INTO IT:

FPL GW4 Transfer Targets

Andrew Robertson LIV £6.0

Projected Points GW4-9: 28.6

Robertson has been one of the best values in FPL this season as he is just 2 points behind defender points leaders Trent Alexander-Arnold despite costing 1 million less. Robbo has started all 3 games and has played more minutes than the aforementioned TAA. Robbo has also shown great underlying stats with a 0.25 xGI per 90 minutes and getting in great positions.

One last nugget in recent games is that Robbo seems to be taking more of the corners over TAA, giving Robbo more point-scoring opportunities. Lastly, over the next six GWs, Liverpool and Robbo have the 3^rd easiest schedule for defenders, making him a great medium-term hold, especially for managers wildcarding this GW. With great underlying attacking numbers, great fixtures, and a decent price tag, Robbo is one of the defenders in my watchlist.

Yankuba Minteh BHA £5.5

Projected Points GW4-9: 25.6

With the Brighton fixture swing in GW4 and the underperformance of some high-price midfielders, many managers will be looking at Minteh going into GW4. Minteh has done himself wonders in the first 3 GWs with 2 assists and is looking a massive threat with a 0.61 xGI per 90 minutes. Brighton also has two great home fixtures coming up against Ipswich and Nottingham Forrest.

Chances created- 5(1 Big chance created)
Expected Goal Involvement- 1.37
Goal Involvements- 2(Both assists)

There is a worry that his minutes might be managed in GW4, given his two 90-minute appearances on international duty with Gambia, but given he should be back in training the days before, I would not worry about this. With such a cheap price and allowing many managers to fund that coveted move to Salah in either GW4 or GW5, Minteh is one of the midfielders on my watchlist.

Joao Pedro BHA £5.7

Projected Points GW4-9: 31.2

With goals in back-to-back games, the Joao Pedro bandwagon is in full effect. He was always a preseason darling, especially in the analytics community, but some people (including myself) did not go there, given his tough opening fixtures. Moving forward, Joao Pedro should be the main forward on everyone’s watchlist, given the value he presents.

**Note:** Pedro was an unused sub in the 1st game & is not expected to start the second game too for Brazil.

Pedro is a 90-minute man with penalties who now has two great upcoming home fixtures. Pedro’s underlying stats do leave something to be desired, with only a 0.39 xGI per 90 minutes, but now that his fixtures get easier, that should improve. With many managers trying to fund a move to Salah in GW4 or GW5, moving a player like Isak to Joao Pedro to open up funds is something managers should consider.
