Euro Fantasy Bargains: Key Players Under €6.5m
While conducting hours of research, I decided to set a benchmark for the budget picks, therefore all players listed below are valued between €4 million and €6 million across all positions and many of which are favoured for guaranteed minutes. Are you ready? Let’s go!
Budget Enablers: Goalkeepers
- Romania – Moldovan/Nita- Moldovan likely to start
Romania GK(likely Moldovan) is the standout option, Romania is 7th on the list for lowest predicted goals against in the group stages
- Albania – Berisha/Strakosha- Both are priced at 4.0 Million and ahead of the Euros Albania had two friendlies and both the GKs played a game each and it could go either way, both are 4.0 Million.
- Austria – Pentz- Likely to start
- Hungary – Dibusz- Not guaranteed with Gulasci(4.5) back, Gulasci started ahead of Dibusz in Hungary’s last friendly before the Euros
- Czechia – Kovar/Stanek- Stanek is the likely starter
- Turkey – Bayindir- Gunok(4.5) likely to start

Budget Enablers: Defenders
Abdülkerim Bardakcı (€4.5m) – Türkiye
The Turkish centre-back playing for Galatasaray started five of the Crescent-Stars European Qualifiers where he secured three clean sheets for his nation. Bardakci presents himself as a solid option to have in our fantasy team as he excels in ball recoveries, interceptions, duels and tackles won.

Maximilian Mittelstädt (€4m) – Germany
Coming off a successful season with his club, VfB Stuttgart, Mittelstädt made his international debut for Germany in March, scoring a goal in one of these games. He is poised to represent his nation competitively in the forthcoming Euros. Lowly priced and set to be the first-choice left-back for Julian Nagelsmann, Mittelstädt is a compelling option among defenders to keep your eye on.

Hancko, Slovakia (€4.5 DEF)
- He will be a great Budget Differential in MD2, MD3
- 3 Goals, 2 Assists, 4 Clean sheets from 10 games in Qualifiers
- Assist, CS in Last Friendly vs Wales
- Slovakia good defensive team as well- 5/10 CS in Qualifiers(Joint 3rd)
Loïc Négo (€4m) – Hungary
The 33-year-old right back started four of his country’s six European Qualifiers matches, contributing two assists for Magyarok. Négo, priced as low as €4 million, provides excellent value as he can be an explosive attacker in transitions and can free up funds for more expensive players.
Loïc Négo Stats in Euro Qualifiers:
- Appearances- 6(4 starts)
- Shots per game- 1.2
- Big Chances missed- 2
- Chances created per game- 1.2
- Balls recovered per game- 4.2
Do note: Bolla played ahead of Loic Nego in Hungary’s last friendly ahead of the Euros and Nego’s spot is in danger. Bolla was involved in all three goals vs Israel from right wing-back and linked up really well with Dominik Szoboszlai.
Other 4.0 Million defenders options to consider:
Bancu who plays as a LB for a defensively strong Romania is a nailed starter and costs only 4.0 Million, a good option if you’re not going with Moldovan in goal
4.0 Million defender Wout Faes is also a guaranteed starter for Belgium and good for ball recoveries, he played both the friendlies ahead of the Euros. In the second friendly he created a big chance and picked up an assist in the game.

Budget Enablers: Midfielders
Nicolae Stanciu (€5.5m) – Romania
Starting all ten matches for Tricolorii in the European Qualifiers, Stanciu stands out among the budget friendly midfielders. The 31-year-old midfield maestro is in charge of set-piece duty for Romania and often scores from range, making him one to watch in the group stage.
Jorginho (€5m) – Italy
Though the 32-year-old Arsenal midfielder only played three European Qualifiers for Italy, Jorginho could be a prominent option for Gli Azzurri. With alternative penalty takers like Ciro Immobile and Domenico Berardi omitted from the final Italian provisional list for the Euros, Jorginho could return to penalty duties for his country.
Kristjan Asllani (€5.5m) – Albania
The 22-year-old youngster started seven of the Red and Blacks’ European Qualifiers, contributing a goal and an assist. While Asllani may not be prolific in front of goal, his creativity and passes into the final third, coupled with his defensive mindset, ball recoveries, and clearances, make him a top option to consider for our fantasy teams.
Key Stat: Kristjan Asllani had an impressive 5.9 balls recovered/game during the Euro Qualifiers
Oleksandr Zinchenko (€5.5m) – Ukraine
Playing in a more attacking role for Ukraine than he does for his club, Arsenal, Oleksandr Zinchenko started seven of eight matches during the Euro Qualifiers contributing one goal and an assist, playing a crucial role in the playoffs, aiding his team’s qualification to Euro 2024. The Blue-Yellows’ captain is ready to help his team go further in the contest and could become an exciting pick down the line.
Honourable mentions:
Both Saša Lukić of Serbia and Adam Gadzag of Hungary, priced at €5.5m, as well as Nemanja Gudelj of Serbia and İsmail Yüksek of Türkiye, priced at €5m, could prove to be compelling alternatives down the line. These players have secured significant minutes and could be valuable assets for your fantasy team.
- Chakvetadze at 4.5 Million playing as a CAM/Number 10 for Georgia.
- Cerin – Slovenia, only 5.0 Million, he’s also on corners and freekicks, no penalties tho which is taken by Sesko

Budget Enablers: Forwards
Georges Mikautadze (€5m) – Georgia
Starting eight of ten matches during the Qualifiers, Mikautadze scored three goals for Georgia, including a penalty against Cyprus. Since making his international debut in March 2021, the 23-year-old attacking talent priced has scored nine goals in 24 caps for Georgia. Georges Mikautadze is a rising star and a good budget enabler to have if you’re looking to spread your budget elsewhere.
Mikautadze scored the second goal vs Montenegro, Georgia’s only friendly ahead of the Euros which they won 3-1.

Barnabás Varga (€6m) – Hungary
During Hungary’s European Qualifiers, the veteran 30-year-old scored four goals in four of six starts, matching up with talismanic figure Dominik Szoboszlai goal tally of four. Varga, with a non-penalty goals per 90 of 0.97, is primarily an attacking threat and is reasonably priced for Euro fantasy managers to take advantage of.
Top Players for Non Penalty Goals/90 in Euro Qualifiers:
- Lukaku- 1.98
- Amdouni- 1.11
- Hojlund- 1.06
- Barnbas Varga– 0.97
- McTominay- 0.96
- Ronaldo- 0.87
Barnabas Varga(6.0 Mil, Forward) in the last friendly for Hungary ahead of the Euros scored twice and picked up an assist, he had a game-high three big chances in the game against Israel.

Róbert Boženík (€6m) – Slovakia
The 24-year-old striker has started seven of Slovakia’s previous seven games, but has only scored once. It’s difficult to vouch for his prolific stature because Slovakia is considered an underdog in Group E, where opponents such as Belgium, Ukraine, and Romania are formidable opponents. Nevertheless, Róbert Boženík is an excellent option for managers searching for a low-cost player with reliable minutes.
In Slovakia’s last friendly before the Euros against Wales, Róbert Boženík scored a goal in a 4-0 win and had three shots on goal(most in the game)
I hope this article helped you identify a few low-cost enablers for your team. Best of luck with your picks.
