PORTUGAL
How far can the Golden Generation of Portugal led by Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes go into this particular Euros?
- FIFA World Ranking – 6
- Qualification Record – W10, D0, L0
- Goals For – 36
- Goals Against – 2
Strengths:
The Only team to not even draw a Single Match in Qualifying, Portugal scored 36 Goals (3.6 per game) and conceded only 2 in 10 Games. They kept 9 Clean sheets and have one of the most balanced sides going into the Tournament. They are the 3rd Favorites behind France and England to win the whole thing this summer. Their abundance of quality in Midfield and attack is their Greatest strength with quality players like CR7, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Rafael Leao possibly starting. Add to that people like Diogo Jota, Joao Felix who can make an impact off the bench, they look frightening to opposition defenders.
Weaknesses:
No major weaknesses except perhaps their Defense is not as strong as their Attack, although they did manage to keep 9 Clean sheets in the Qualifiers. Cancelo, Nuno Mendes and Dalot are all good going forward but not the best defensively. Also Martinez as a coach can be a bit underwhelming with his tactics against the Top teams.
Portugal Euro 2024 Predicted Lineup:
- Diogo Costa is firmly the team’s Top Goalkeeper having established himself after the Euros in 2020.
- At the back Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo are sure shot starters. The question is will it be Antonio Silva or Goncalo Inacio as Dias’ partner. Both started 5 Qualifiers each. Similarly one of Nuno Mendes or Diogo Dalot will play the other Fullback position.
- In Midfield Bruno Fernandes is nailed to start and is the New Talisman of the team. Palinha/Ruben Neves and Vitinha should start behind Bruno.
- Up top Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva & Rafael Leao look certain starters with Jota & Felix coming on as Impact subs.
Portugal Predicted XI (4-3-3): Costa; Cancelo, Dias, Inacio/Antonio Silva, Mendes/Dalot; Palhinha/Neves, Vitinha, Fernandes; Bernardo Silva, Ronaldo, Leao.

- Penalties – Ronaldo

Top Euro 2024 Fantasy Players from Portugal:
- Bruno Fernandes (9 Mid) – Bruno Fernandes has now established himself as the Talisman for his Country. Creates chances for fun.
- Scored 6 Goals, had 8 Assists in the Qualifiers. Averaged around 3.5 Ball Recoveries per game. On all corners and some free kicks. Nailed on to play 90 minutes.
- Being 1 million lesser than CR7, he looks essential to me.
- Cristiano Ronaldo (10 Fwd) – Never count out Cristiano Ronaldo in a major tournament. Excellent Group games, super attacking fixtures and on penalties.
- Got 10 Goals and 1 Assist in the Qualifiers with an average Goal attempt of 5.23 per game.
- Finished as the Top Goal-scorer in the Saudi league this past season.
- Joao Cancelo (6 Def) – Super Attacking Fullback, Favorable Group with lots of Clean sheet potential.
- Got 3 Goals in Euro Qualifying. Good for Ball Recoveries with an average of 4 per game. One of my Top 3 Defender picks for the Group stages.
- Notable Mentions – Diogo Costa (5 Gk) – Like Pickford, 0.5 underpriced in my opinion. If you cannot reach Cancelo, he would be my pick from the Portugal Defense.

Türkiye
Can the Crescent Stars repeat their Semi-final showings of World Cup 2002 and Euro 2008 and live up to their Tag of “Dark Horses”?
- FIFA World Ranking – 40
- Qualification Record – W5, D2, L1
- Goals For – 14
- Goals Against – 7
Strengths:
The Midfield looks strong with Calhanoglu, Ozcan and Kokcu the heartbeat of the team. The morale will be high with many young players like Guler and Akturkoglu hoping to take the next step forward. They will also get a lot of support in Germany being the neighbours and fan support goes a long way in International Tournaments.
Weaknesses:
Defensive injuries to Kabak and Soyuncu could destabilize their entire defensive solidity. Up front they lacked a Focal Point and it seemed Enes Unal would be able to pick up the mantle, only to lose him to injury too in a training incident.
Turkey Euro 2024 Predicted Lineup:
- Cakir should start in Goal with a Back 4 of Celik, Bardacki, Kadioglu, and one of Demiral/Akaydin.
- The Midfield base should be Calhanoglu and Ozcan with the dynamic duo of Akturkoglu, and Guler on the wings. Kokcu should be the Playmaker and up front it should be either Yildiz or Tosun.
- Türkiye predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Cakir; Celik, Demiral/Akaydin, Bardacki, Kadioglu; Ozcan, Calhanoglu; Guler, Kokcu, Akturkoglu; Tosun/Yildiz.
Turkey Euro 2024 Set Piece Takers:
- Penalties – Calhanoglu
- Free Kicks – Calhanoglu
- Corners – Calhanoglu
Turkey Euro 2024 Top Fantasy Players:
- Hakan Calhanoglu (6.5 Mid) – The Turkish Talisman on all set pieces and Penalties. Plays Georgia on the 1st Matchday which is the weakest team in the competition ranking-wise.
- Had another brilliant season for Inter with 13 Goals and 3 Assists in 32 Games. Also good for Ball Recoveries and most likely to get Man of the Match points if Turkey wins.
- Arda Guler (6 Mid) – One Player who could have a Breakthrough in Euros if he can remain injury-free and play all the games.
- Even for Real he impressed with the limited game time, getting 6 Goals in 10 Games. Could be the most exciting pick from this Turkish team.
- Abdulkerim Bardakci (4.5 Def) – Besides Celik who is 5 Million, Bardakci is perhaps the best option from the Turkish defense. Has a big Goal threat which showed when he got 4 Goals in 27 Games for his club. Also got 1 more in the 5 Games he played in Euro Qualifying. Has a decent average of 3.7 Ball Recoveries per game.
- Notable Mentions – Kerem Arturkoglu (7 Fwd) – Showed what he is capable of in the Group stages of the UCL last season. Had a very promising season where he got 12 Goals and 6 Assists in 37 League Games. Also managed 2 Goals in the Qualifiers with an average of 2.25 Shots per game. The only downside is that he is listed as a Forward in the Fantasy Game.

CZECHIA
Can the Surprise Quarter-finalists from the last Euros make another deep run in this Tournament as well?
- FIFA World Ranking – 36
- Qualification Record – W4, D3, L1
- Goals For – 12
- Goals Against – 6
Strengths: Contrary to the free-flowing attacking team of the last Euros, this team is more defensively solid, restricting their opponents to only 5.11 Expected Goals Conceded (XGC), which was the fifth lowest in Euro Qualifying. The Midfield Anchor of Soucek and Sadilek will keep things tight against most teams. Up front Patrik Schick and Adam Hlozek will carry the Goal-scoring burden of the team.
Weaknesses: A common problem of the Czech teams in the past has been their inability to perform well against the Stronger opposition. In a group where they have Free-scoring Portugal and a confident Türkiye, the core of the team needs to step up a gear if they have any ambitions to reach the Knockout stages.
Czechia Euro 2024 Predicted Lineup:
- Jindrich Stanek should get the nod over the Talented Upcoming Goalkeeper Matej Kovar from Manchester United.
- Expect a Back 3 or a Back 5 formation with Zima, Brabec, and Holes as the Center Backs. Jurasek and Coufal should start as the wingbacks.
- At the Midfield Engine Room will be Soucek and Sadilek with Provod playing as the Playmaker of the team.
- The Strikeforce Duo of Schick and Hlozek will lead the line.
- Czechia predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Stanek; Zima, Brabec, Holes; Jurasek, Soucek, M Sadilek, Coufal; Provod; Schick, Hlozek.
Czechia Euro 2024 Set Piece Takers:
- Penalties – Schick
- Free Kicks – Sadilek
- Corners – Sadilek/Provod
Top Czechia Euro 2024 Fantasy Choices:
- Patrik Schick (7 Fwd) – What a Euros he had in 2020. Finished as the joint-highest scorer with CR7. Had a decent season for Bayer Leverkusen where he scored 12 Goals in 29 Games.
- Games against Türkiye and Georgia will help him get his Goals, but the only worry is he starts off with Portugal. Also on Penalties.
- Tomas Soucek (6 Mid) – We all know that Soucek loves to get a Goal from a Set piece using his Towering presence. Gets forward more often even though he plays in a Defensive Pivot and loves a long shot.
- Got 3 Goals and 1 Assist in the Qualifiers which included a Penalty, although Schick was not on the pitch at that time.
- Also a good source of Ball Recoveries with an average of 4.5 per game.
- David Jurasek (4.5 Def) – A Super Attacking Defender who plays as a wingback and takes Corners. Averaged 2.2 Key passes per game which was the 2nd highest among Defenders after Dumfries. Also took 6 Corners and got an Assist. I would prefer him to Coufal on the opposite wing.
- Notable Mentions –Jindrich Stanek (4 GK) – In a group which has Georgia, one should expect a minimum of 1 Clean sheet. Against the rest, you can expect loads of saves. Stanek is an experienced Goalkeeper with a safe pair of hands and for 4 million you cannot ask for much more.

GEORGIA
Can Khvicha Kvaratskhelia lead the Crusaders to a Memorable Major Tournament Debut? Or will they become the Tournament’s Whipping boys?
- FIFA World Ranking – 75
- Qualification Record – W3, D3, L4
- Goals For – 14
- Goals Against – 18
Strengths: The Talisman Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is one of the Best Young Players coming up and you would not be surprised if he gets a Big Money Move to one of the Top Most clubs in Europe soon. Georgia are a brilliant Counter-Attacking side with fast and pacy wingers ready to damage against Slow and ageing Defenders.
Weaknesses: The Midfield and Wing-backs are the big weaknesses of this Team. At the Center of the park, most teams would easily control the ball over the Georgians while the Wing-backs are actually Wingers who have been converted to play that role.
Georgia Euro 2024 Predicted Lineup:
- Giorgi Mamardashvili will be the one between the sticks. Captain Guram Kashia will play alongside Lasha Dvali and Solomon Kvirikvelia as the Center Backs. The wing-backs should be Otar Kakabadze and Levan Shengelia.
- Giorgi Chakvetadze, Nika Kvekveskiri, and Giorgi Kochorashvili will line up in Midfield with Chakvetadze playing as the Playmaker.
- Up top it will be one of Budu Zivzivadze or Georges Mikautadze who will be partnering with Talisman Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Georgia (5-3-2): Mamardashvili; Kakabadze, Kvirkvelia, Kashia, Dvali, Shengelia; Chakvetadze, Kvekveskiri, Kochorashvili; Mikautadze/ Zivzivadze, Kvaratskhelia.
Georgia Euro 2024 Set Piece Takers:
- Penalties – Kvaratskhelia
- Free Kicks – Kvaratskhelia
- Corners – Kvaratskhelia/Chakvetadze
Top Euro 2024 Fantasy Choices from Georgia:
- Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (7 Mid) – 7 Million seems a bit much for any player of the lowest-ranked team, but you cannot take Kvaradona for granted, as he can put up a show on his own (as he has shown multiple times for Napoli).
- A Fast, pacy winger with immense dribbling skills playing OOP as a Forward, On Penalties and all set pieces and nailed for 90 minutes. He may just be a surprise sleeper pick.
- Got 4 Goals and 1 Assist in Qualifying with an average of 3.56 attempts per game.
- Giorgi Chakvetadze (4.5 Mid) – Probably the only 4.5 Mid who will start regularly. That too an Attacking one. 1 Goal, 3 Assists in 6 Qualifiers with 1.2 Shots and 1.2 Key passes per game. Also has a share of corner duties.
- Giorgi Mamardashvili (4.5 GK) – A reliable Goalkeeper who made the Most Saves in Euro Qualifying and also had the Highest Expected Goals prevented in La Liga this past season.
- Notable Mentions – Georges Mikautadze (5 Fwd) – A Budget Forward who got 13 Goals and 4 Assists for his club Metz last season.
- Also, got 3 Goals in Euro Qualifying with an average of 2 Attempts per game. He should be fairly nailed up top.
