FRANCE
Can “Les Blues” claim the Missing part of the jigsaw under Manager Didier Deschamps to complete the set of World Cup, Nations League, and Euros?
- FIFA World Ranking – 2
- Qualification Record – W7, D1, L0
- Goals For – 29
- Goals Against – 3
Strengths:
England may be the Bookies favorites, but it is France which is the team to beat. Incredible squad depth across all positions and a plethora of young attacking options makes them the Favorites in my opinion. Plus the motivation will be high after the heartbreak of the 2016 Final loss at home & the Penalty shootout loss to Switzerland at Euro 2020. In Kylian Mbappe they have the best player in the world who will be ably supported by the Genius All Rounder Antoine Griezmann. In Defense they have the Best center-back in the Premier League – William Saliba and one of the best Left backs in the world – Theo Hernandez. A very balanced Midfield trio of the Real Madrid Boys Camavinga & Tchouaméni with Rabiot as the backup if needed.
Weaknesses:
No major weaknesses in this Squad. The French team will miss the experience of Varane at Center Back and his leadership skills & calmness. Konate/Upamecano are decent center-backs but nowhere close to the level of Varane or indeed Saliba. That’s where France will miss Lucas Hernandez who is ruled out due to a long-term injury. At right back Pavard is a solid option but his attacking threat is limited & Clauss (his backup) is not the best defensively.
France Euro 2024 Predicted Lineup:
Maignan will start as the Goalkeeper provided he recovers from his minor injury. The Back 4 will be Pavard/Clauss, Konate, Saliba & Theo. Expect Pavard to play in a Back 3 as a Center Back with Saliba & Konate while Theo bombs forward from Left back.
The Midfield will be the trio of Tchouaméni (if he is fit), Camavinga/Rabiot, and Griezmann as the Attacking Midfielder.
Mbappe on the left, Dembele on the right & one of Giroud/Thuram playing as the Central Striker.
France XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Pavard/Clauss, Konate, Saliba, Theo Hernandez; Tchouaméni, Camavinga/Rabiot, Griezmann; Dembele, Giroud/Thuram, Mbappe.

Top Euro 2024 Fantasy Choices from France –
- Mbappe (11 Fwd) – Can only start with the Best Player in the World right now. The Captain of France is a Monster in Major tournaments winning the Golden Boot in 2 Consecutive World Cups. On Penalties & corners too.
27 Goals, 7 Assists in 29 Matches in the French League. 9 Goals & 6 Assists in 8 Qualifying Matches. That’s almost 2 Attacking returns per game. 4.75 Attempts per game. Ignore him & your Euro Fantasy season is ruined.
- Theo Hernandez (5.5 Def) – One of the Best Attacking left-backs in the world right now. Theo has firmly established himself in the French Starting 11 in the last couple of years. For A.C Milan he had another brilliant season with 5 Goals & 7 Assists in 38 Matches.
2 Assists in Euro Qualifying & close to 5.3 Ball Recoveries per game. Your ideal blend of Attacking Returns & Ball Recovery points in 1 player. Can’t ignore him, can you?
- Antoine Griezmann (9 Fwd) – If you want to double up on the French attack, this is your guy. He is the heartbeat of the French team and will be the most influential player after Mbappe.
Has had a great season for Atletico with 22 Goals, and 7 Assists in 43 Games for them.
1 Goal & 1 Assist in Euro Qualifying but always steps up on the Big Stage.
- Notable Mentions – Olivier Giroud (8 Fwd) – Definitely his final major tournament for France. He will want to go out with a Bang before he moves to the MLS in the Summer.
3 Goals & 1 Assist in Euro Qualifying. 16 Goals & 8 Assists for A.C Milan in 40 Games.

The Oranje will be aiming to win a Major Tournament after their European Championship victory in 1988. Guess where they won it? In Germany…

Strengths:
Koeman’s Dutch side often play with a long ball approach against the stronger sides while they dominate the ball against the lower-ranked teams. In a decent group, they will be taking the former approach. Their Defense is in better shape compared to the attack, even if they are missing a couple of crucial defenders. Major threat at Set pieces.
Weaknesses:
The form & fitness of Depay will be a concern for the Dutch side. Although Depay usually reserves his best for his country. Their Left Back/Left Wing Back Daley Blind is no longer a Top Quality defender and often gets done for pace. Expect the opposition to target that side of the Dutch Defense.
Netherland Euro 2024 Predicted Lineup:
Verbruggen should start the Tournament as the Goalkeeper, but his position is not nailed.
The Dutch will in all likelihood play with a Back 3 setup. Van Dijk & Ake are nailed and I expect one of De Vrij/De Ligt to start as the last Center Back. Dumfries & Blind should start as the Wingbacks, although Frimpong has made a strong claim with his performances for his club this season.
De Jong is nailed to start if he remains injury-free with 1 of Koopmeiners/Schouten predicted to start beside him. In the tougher games, we may see Gravenberch start to strengthen the Midfield.
Up top it should be the trio of Gakpo, Simmons, and Depay with Weghorst as the Impact sub.
Netherlands XI (3-4-2-1): Verbruggen; De Vrij/De Ligt, Van Dijk, Ake; Dumfries, De Jong, Koopmeiners/Schouten, Blind; Simmons, Gakpo; Depay

- Penalties – Depay/Van Dijk/Gakpo
- Free Kicks – Gakpo

Top Euro 2024 Fantasy Choices from Netherlands:
- Virgil Van Dijk (6 Def) – The Best Player of the Dutch Team. What has made him the Top pick is his manager saying that Van Dijk may take penalties for the Dutch. Whether it’s a Bluff or not, time will tell. Brilliant at set pieces and averages around 6.25 Ball Recoveries per game. A Lot will depend on the Penalty factor but even without that Van Dijk is a solid pick.
- Denzel Dumfries (5.5 Def) – Unlike his club, Dumfries is a different animal for the Dutch team. Had a brilliant Euros last time. Plays as a Winger compared to a Wingback and takes up some really advanced positions. Got 5 Assists in Euro Qualifying which was the highest for a Defender. The only reason I prefer Van Dijk is because of him being on penalties potentially and the slight rotation with Frimpong for Dumfries.
- Cody Gakpo (7.5 Fwd) – Has surpassed Depay as the Attacking focal point for the Dutch. A Very good creator (3.2 key passes) and Goalscorer (2.2 shots) with 3 Goals in 5 Games in Qualifying. Could also put his hand up for penalties. On Free kicks and corners too.
- Notable Mentions –Xavi Simmons (7 Mid) – Had a very good season for Leipzig with 10 Goals and 13 Assists in 40 Games for his club. Featured in more Qualifying matches than Gakpo & Depay combined. A very solid option who will be on the radar of many clubs if he performs well at the Euros. Memphis Depay (7.5 Fwd) – If fit, Memphis is the Talisman of the Netherlands. Just look at the last few major tournaments for proof. On Penalties too, the question is can he stay fit to start all the games?

AUSTRIA
Austria will Target to reach the Knockouts for the 2nd Consecutive Euros. Can they go one better than the Round of 16 showing in EURO 2020?
- FIFA World Ranking – 25
- Qualification Record – W6, D1, L1
- Goals For – 17
- Goals Against – 7
Strengths: The Attacking Midfield of the Bundesliga Veterans Sabitzer, Laimer and Baumgartner. They will be responsible for most of Austria’s goals and knowing their Group, they will need to outscore their opponents to go through to the Knockout stage.
Weaknesses: Key injuries and absence of Captain David Alaba will be a major blow. The Defense will be a lot weaker without Alaba’s cool head & experience. 2 more major injuries to midfielder Xaver Schlager and first choice goalkeeper Alexander Schlager will be damaging to their squad.
Austria Euro 2024 Predicted Lineup
Predicting the Starting Goalkeeper will be tough. Expect one of Pentz/Linder to start in Goal with a Back 4 of Posch, Lienhart/Wober, Danso & Mwene.
At the Engine Room of the Midfield will be Siewald & Grillitsch. Above them is the Creative trio of Bundesliga Veterans Sabitzer, Laimer, and Baumgartner.
Arnautovic will probably be an Impact sub with Gregoritsch starting from the get-go.
Austria (4-2-3-1): Schlager; Posch, Lienhart/Wober, Danso, Mwene; Seiwald, Grillitsch; Laimer, Baumartner, Sabitzer; Gregoritsch.

- Penalties – Arnautovic/Sabitzer
- Free Kicks – Sabitzer
- Corners – Sabitzer
Top Euro 2024 Fantasy Choices from Austria
- Marcel Sabitzer (6.5 Mid) – Highly influential player. He likes to shoot, create chances, and is on all set pieces, even penalties when Arnautovic is not on the pitch.
Got 4 Goals and 2 Assists in 8 & Games but he played only an average of 47 minutes in those games. Has had a good finish to the season for Dortmund.
- Christoph Baumgartner (6.5 Mid) – The 2nd best-attacking option behind Sabitzer for Austria. He got 3 Goals and 2 Assists in the Qualifying campaign and will likely be playing just behind the Striker.
- Stefan Posch (4.5 Def) – The best asset from the Austian Defense. Has averaged about 1 shot and 1 key pass per game during the Qualifiers. He has 2 Assists to his name. Great Ball Recovery stats with almost 4.5 per game.
- Notable Mentions – Konrad Laimer (6 Mid) – The Bayern Man plays much higher up the pitch for his country compared to his club. Got 2 goals in the Qualifiers and is slightly cheaper than both Sabitzer and Baumgartner.

POLAND
Can Poland repeat their 2016 Heroic showing and reach the Quarter Finals yet again?
- FIFA World Ranking – 28
- Qualification Record – W4, D3, L3
- Goals For – 15
- Goals Against – 11
Strengths: Robert Lewandowski. The Talisman and Captain of Poland will once again have the responsibility of carrying Poland’s hopes and passage to the Knockouts. Zielenski will hope to feed Lewandowski with some delicious passes. This Attacking duo is the main strength of Poland. At the back the duo of Bednarek & Kiwior along with Szczesny will hope to keep things tight.
Weaknesses: The lack of a Quality Midfield besides Zielenski will lead to creativity issues. In a group where they have to outscore opposition, this does not bode well for Poland. Their wing backs are defensively not the best which will cause further problems for their slow Center Backs.
Poland Euro 2024 Predicted Lineup:
Poland have favored a 3-5-2 in the last few months. Szczesny will start in goal with a Back 3 of Bednarek, Kiwior and Dawidowicz. The Wing Backs will be Frankowski and Zalewski.
A Midfield trio of Zielenski, Piotrowski, and Slisz will play behind Lewandowski and Swiderski with Milik coming on as an Impact Sub.
Poland (3-5-2): Szczesny; Bednarek, Dawidowicz, Kiwior; Frankowski, Piotrowski, Slisz, Zielinski, Zalewski; Swiderski, Lewandowski
Poland Euro 2024 Set Piece Takers:
- Penalties – Lewandowski
- Free Kicks – Lewandowski/Zielenski
- Corners – Zielenski/ Zalewski
Top Euro 2024 Fantasy Choices from Poland:
- Robert Lewandowski (9.5 Fwd) – The Talisman and Captain is still their Main Man. On Penalties and nailed on for 90 minutes, he has become a more All Round Player. 3 Goals and 2 Assists in Euro Qualifying. Had a mediocre League campaign for Barcelona with 22 Goals and 9 Assists in 44 Matches.
- Piotr Zielenski (6.5 Mid) – The Creative Lynchpin of the team. On all set pieces, his influence and price point in Fantasy makes him a much more appealing Fantasy option. Got 1 Goal and 2 Assists in 9 Qualifying matches.
- Przemyslaw Frankowski (4.5 Def) – The Best Option from the Polish backline. 1 Goal and 1 Assist in Euro Qualifying with an average of 3.1 Ball Recoveries per match. A Cross Machine with approx. 5.4 Crosses attempted per match. Got 3 Goals & 2 Assists for his club this season. Picked up 8 & 11 Attacking returns in the last 2 seasons for his club. Given full license to bomb forward.
- Notable Mentions – Jakub Kiwior (4.5 Def) – A Nailed starter offering good set piece threat. His real value comes from his excellent Ball Recovery stats with an average of 5.9 per game in Euro Qualifying.
