5 Must-own Players for Euro Fantasy MD1

5 Must-own Players for Euro Fantasy MD1: Mbappe
  • Kylian Mbappe (€11m-Forward): Probably the best player in the world right now and I believe he must be the first name you bring to your team. Excellent season, excellent form, great stats during the qualifications, on penalties, captain of the nation, guaranteed minutes, and so on. There is actually no reason to avoid owning him because no matter which team he faces, he is always capable of hauling in every game for France just in the previous World Cup.
  • Harry Kane (€11m-Forward): He is just another must-own striker with great form and wonderful stats during the whole season for the club and Euro qualifications. The captain of England -the favorite of the tournament- leads the front line of his nation while a lot of quality youngsters will play behind him. Although I find it too risky not to go with either of him or Mbappe, I find the French forward slightly more appealing. I believe if both teams are in a situation winning the game, England is the team that tries to hold the result while France probably goes for more goals.

  • Bruno Fernandes (€9m-Midfielder): In my opinion, he is definitely the only must-have midfielder among all the players in the game. He had 14 goal contributions in 10 games (6 goals+8 assists) during the qualification, as well as a great quality recently playing for Manchester United. Portugal might have the easiest group and I also find him more secure than C. Ronaldo in terms of playing 90 minutes or even starting the game.
  • Federico Dimarco (€5m-Defender): Italy faces Albania in the first match of the group stage and it seems essential to have at least one Italian player in your team. While they haven’t been doing well in attack recently, owing their most nailed defender at this price is a no-brainer for me. He also had such a brilliant season with Inter, so whatever your chip strategy is, he must find his way to your team for MD1.
5 Must-own Players for Euro Fantasy MD1: Maximilian Mittelstadt
  • Maximilian Mittelstadt (€4m-Defender): The most attacking defender from Germany with a reliable performance for the national teams lately, is available at the lowest possible price at his position! For me, there is no doubt that he is an essential player, and since Germany plays the opening game as the host and the lineup is available before the deadline, we can be assured whether he starts the game (if not, Tah €4.5m is the best alternative).

5 Dilemmas Answered for Euro Fantasy MD1

Who are the best Mid-price Midfielders?

Best Mid-price Midfielders for Euro Fantasy MD1: Calhanoglu

It actually depends on your chip strategy, if you plan to use a chip for MD2, Eriksen €7m, Szoboszlai €7m and Calhanoglu €6.5m are the talismans of their teams (on penalties, corners, and set pieces) and all face relatively easy opponents in MD1 while having a difficult fixture in MD2. But if you don’t use a chip for MD2, then Gundogan €7m and Shaqiri €6.5m are the midfielders who are on penalties and capable of attacking returns, while not facing a difficult opponent in MD1 & MD2.

Rodri €6.5m is also another option in this price bracket which is on pens and also capable of ball recoveries, though the first two games against Croatia and Italy are taught ones.

Who should I pick as my 3rd Forward?

There are 3 options for me. Lukaku €9m always does great (and also on pens) for Belgium and with their relatively easy fixtures, he is the best 3rd forward you can get. The second is Havertz €7.5m who I believe is the best-attacking asset from Germany according to their recent results, especially because there is a question that which German Midfielder is really the best fantasy-wise. The third option is Ronaldo €10m and the real concern is about his minutes. If we ensure that he starts and gets enough minutes, he is even comparable to Lukaku according to the great fixtures for Portugal and you know, of course, he always does a great job.

Should I go with Premium Midfielder?

Best Mid-price Midfielders for Euro Fantasy MD1: Bruno Fernandes

As I mentioned above, Fernandes €9m is just the best midfielder of the game and De Bruyne €9.5m comes next for me. Portugal and Belgium both have easy fixtures during the group stage and both two definitely have excellent forms. The other three premium midfielders, Bellingham €9.5 & Foden €9 & Saka €8.5m, all play for England and had a great season with their clubs, but I’m not sure that they can perform the same for their national team because they will have different roles. So these English midfielders are not attractive options for me because we really don’t know who will be nailed in this tournament, at least for MD1.

Who is the best €5m/€4.5m Goalkeeper?

Who is the best €5m/€4.5m Goalkeeper for MD1 - Pickford

I really believe that €5m is the maximum you should pay for a goalkeeper for MD1. Costa €5m is the best for me according to the easy fixtures of Portugal, while Pickford €5m stands in second place as a part of England’s solid defense. The thing with Pickford is that Stones €5m and Guehi €4.5m are other options from England’s defense with the same or lower price, while as for Portugal, Costa is the cheapest one who is insured to play. Verbruggen €4.5m is also a great pick from the Netherlands for the first round if you plan to use a chip in MD2 (when he faces France). Lunin €4.5m is also another good choice with relatively good fixtures in the first two matchdays, which is very appealing if you don’t use a chip in MD2.

Which Mid-price Defenders are worth to pick?

These are my favorite €5m/€4.5 defenders for MD1: Tah €4.5m (Germany), Dimarco €5m (Italy), Stones €5m and Guehi €4.5m (England), Kounde €5m (France), Castagne €5m and Vertongen €4.5m (Belgium). The others that might be risky are Widmer €4.5m (Switzerland), Grimaldo €5m (Spain), Kristiansen €4.5m (Denmark), Konoplia €4.5m (Ukraine).

5 Punts for Euro Fantasy MD1

5 Punts for Euro Fantasy MD1 ~ Chiesa
  • Italian Attacker: Although Italy hasn’t done well in attack recently, some may believe that it’s still worth it to gamble on their forwards against Albania as one of the easiest features in the group stage. Scamacca €7m is my favorite with his wonderful performance for Atalanta recently, and Chiesa €7.5m is also an option who is probably on penalties (if not Jorginho). The issue with these two is that they are Forwards in the game which means they occupy one of three forward positions and it is not ideal at all. Among the midfielders, Barella €7m has had a constant high performance but still not very attacking. Jorginho €5m is also a very cheap option and maybe on pens, but he actually missed his last 4 penalties for the national team so probably Chiesa or someone else will take them.
  • Christian Eriksen €7m: Despite not having a great season with Manchester United, he is still the main man for Denmark as he recently proved once again during the friendlies. They will face Slovenia in their first matchday and I believe this is the easiest game among their three matches in the group stage, so a great chance for him to rise again after what he has been through in Euro 2020.
5 Punts for Euro Fantasy MD1 ~ Maehle
  • Joakim Maehle €5.5m: Another interesting option from Denmark which was such a great fantasy asset in Euro 2020. He is available again as a defender, and this time not as cheap as before. But I still believe he can be a good punt for MD1.
  • Hakan Calhanoglu €6.5m: Turkey will face Georgia in their first match and it’s surely their easiest fixture during the tournament. Georgia has the worst FIFA ranking among all 24 teams in the tournament this year and Turkey can take advantage against them. Calhanoglou is the talisman of the team who basically does everything (on penalties, corners, and set pieces) and can be a great pick for MD1.
  • Dumfries €5.5m/Frimpong €5.5m: Netherlands is another team with an easy fixture in MD1 and a difficult one in MD2. Although it’s a question that which one of these two starts (or maybe they both start), I believe Dumfries and Frimpong are the best assets from the Netherlands to go with. They both play such attacking positions and are capable of delivering assists or goals as well as gaining points for the clean sheet. Frimpong has relatively better form and I prefer him over Dumfries, who is more experienced for the national team.
