Well, Finally Euros is almost here. No more days without Football and more importantly Fantasy Football. In this article, the architects behind AllAboutFPL – Surya and Srini reveal their Euro Fantasy MD1 Team & Drafts with justification and reasoning.

2024 Euro Fantasy MD1 Team

Surya’s Euro Fantasy MD1 Team Reveal:

Key Notes:

• This draft has 0 million in the bank and is made with the thought of having an open Chip Strategy of using Limitless and Wildcard whenever needed rather than committing to a plan.
• This Draft has also good Captaincy options that are spread across all the days
• The forwards pick themselves and are easily the best in the game- Mbappe, Lukaku and Harry Kane.
• The Defence comprises of 5 attacking full-backs playing for good teams and are nailed- Dimarco, Dumfries, De Cuyper, Mittelstadt, and Cancelo who have great chances to get points in both offense and defense.
• De Cuyper is the most differential among these players who is likely to play the first few games due to an injury to Theate.
• Moldovan and Berisha are the only likely starting 4.0 million Goalkeepers at the moment and they rotate really well too. Verbruggen was considered as an option but injuries to midfielders De Jong and Koopmeiners does not sound well for the defense.
• Saka and Writz are coming off from brilliant domestic seasons for their clubs and will be key players for their country to go deeper in the tournament. Bruno Fernandes is a no-brainer considering he is Top for Chances created among all players and also got 6 goals, and 7 assists from 10 games in Qualifiers.
• Rodri(6.0) is a ball recovery magnet and might be on penalties as well. Points for ball recoveries and an extra point for goals from outside the box make Rodri a great budget pick at 6.5 million
• Chakvetadze(4.5) is probably the Best Budget enabler in the game- Nailed to start at CAM position and has 1 goal, and 3 assists in qualifiers.

Alternate Plans:

• Hancko(4.5 DEF) and Baumgartner(6.5 MID) are two punts which really interests me but their tough fixtures for MD1(vs Belgium, France) are the only concerns. Both of them could come into the team for MD2.

• Cerin(5.0) is another Budget enabler who might come into team ahead of Chakevetadze. The 5.0 million mid creates lots of chances and is also on set pieces.

Srini’s Euro Fantasy MD1 Team Reveal:

Key Notes:

• There is one million in the bank in this draft as there are still plans to make a few changes if needed. The Chip Strategy here is to attack with Limitless and Wildcard in MD2 and MD3. Then consolidate for the rest of the season. So this team is basically for MD1 and will be more Differential compared to the Template teams.
• The template forward line is broken. Going without Kane is a big risk, but Depay is owned by only 3% managers compared to Kane who is already 47% owned. Depay got an assist in the final friendly and had a game high seven shots on target and 2 Big Chances. He may not outscore Kane, but he can be a great punt having performed consistently well for the Netherlands over the years- 45 goals, and 31 assists from 92 games.
• Erisken(7.0 and just 4% owned), Szoboszlai(7.0), and Gundogan(7.0) are three players who are on penalties and set pieces for their team. They are also talismanic players, and excellent chance creators as well apart from their goal-scoring ability. These players will be good for ball recovery too! De Bruyne doesn’t need any introduction as well.
• Faes(4.0) is a great budget enabler at just 4.0 million covering Belgium’s defence.

Alternate Plans:

• The positions of Writz(7.5) and Theo Hernandez(5.5) are still pretty much undecided. It can easily be Bruno Fernandes(9.0) + Tah(4.5) at the time of the deadline.
• Saka(8.5) can also come in for Writz(7.5) to get coverage from the English attack. It could be a safer choice to get.
• TAA(Priced at 5.5 DEF) is expected to start in the first game vs Serbia in Midfield and can be an excellent punt to come in the place of Theo Hernandez.
• Guler(6.0) can also be a great one-week to punt to attack the MD1 fixture vs Georgia.
