Welcome back to another captaincy metrics blog, The popular FPL Gameweek 36 captain picks include Haaland, Saka, Foden, Palmer and Isak. Haaland came of the bench to score a goal, Palmer picked up only an assist in GW35 across two games, Isak is in red hot form but Newcastle are not very strong away from home. Let’s see who amongst the five players tops the captaincy metrics this week, will it be Haaland or someone else?

Haaland takes the top spot in the captaincy poll with a whopping 36% of the votes ahead of facing Wolves at home in GW36.

Isak who is in red hot form takes the 2nd spot in the captaincy poll this week ahead of facing Burnley(A).

Palmer who picked up an assist in the 2nd game of DGW35 is third in the captaincy poll this week.

Foden is the 2nd Man City attacker in the top five of the captaincy poll this week ahead of facing Wolves at home. Saka complete the top five of the captaincy metrics.

Palmer is top of the table with an xG of 7.98 in the last six games, Palmer has also had 20 shots inside the box and 10 big chances. The Chelsea attacker also has created 20 chances in the last six games which is the highest amongst the five players in comparison.

Isak is 2nd ahead of Haaland registering an xG of 6.34 in the last six games along with 10 big chances, and 20 goal attempts in the box.

Haaland who picked up a goal last gameweek from the bench is third with an xG of 4.89, he has also registered 17 shots inside the box, and 10 big chances.

Foden is only 4th with five big chances in the last six games and an xG of 3.12.

Saka is last with an xG of 2.29 in the last six games. The Arsenal attacker has created 15 chances and has registered 15 goal attempts in the box

Newcastle have registered a xG of 13.83 during the period. They have had 76 shots inside the box and 22 big chances which is also the highest amongst the five teams in the table.

Man City are 2nd in the table with an xG of 12.94. The Blue are also first for goal attempts in the box(84) in the last six games

Chelsea are 4th in the table with an xG of 11.63. Poch’s team have also registered 56 shots inside the box and 20 big chances in the last six games.

Arsenal are 5th with an xG of 11.39 and have had 18 big chances in the last six games along with 77 goal attempts in the box.

We will use DraftHound’s odds for a Team scoring at least one goal in the Gameweek and the Odds of Scoring more than 2.0 goals in the Gameweek as a whole.

Man City are top with a 94% odds of at least 1 goal in the double gameweek and a 67% odds of scoring 2+ goals this week.

Arsenal are 2nd in the table and have a 92% odds of at least 1 goal in the gameweek and an 60% odds of scoring 2+ goals this week.

Chelsea are 4th in the table and have 87% odds of at least 1 goal in the gameweek and a 42% odds of scoring 2+ goals this week.

Newcastle United are 5th in the table and have 83% odds of at least 1 goal in the gameweek and a 33% odds of scoring 2+ goals this week.

With the help of the Anytime Returns Tool, I have derived the Safety Rank, which helps in determining the Safest Captaincy Option of the week, while I have used the Projected Points Tool to determine the Explosion Rank, which helps in determining the Most Explosive Option of the week. 

Haaland is top of the projection rank table with an anytime returns projection of 74% and a 8.2 points projection in FPL Gameweek 36 vs Wolves(H)

Palmer takes the 2nd spot with an anytime returns projection of 63% and a 6.5 points projection ahead of facing West Ham(H)

Foden takes the 3rd spot with an anytime returns projection of 61% and a points projection of 6.5

Saka takes the 4th spot having an anytime returns projection of 58% and a points projection of 6.3

Isak takes the last spot with the Newcastle United forward having an anytime returns projection of 57% and a points projection of 5.7.

In the Fifth and Final Phase of the article, I have aggregated the Ranks derived above to pull out the Cumulative Rank Factor (CRF). The Candidate having the lowest Cumulative Rank Factor is the most ideal Captaincy Option according to this metric. 

Haaland. Tops the Gameweek 36 captaincy metrics becoming the best captain for FPL GW36 according to our captaincy metrics

Haaland comfortably takes the top spot with a cumulative rank factor(CRF) of 7. Teammate Foden is 2nd with a CRF of 10. Palmer takes the 3rd spot with a CRF of 11, Isak is only 4th with a CRF of 14 and Saka is last with a CRF of 17.
