FPL GW29 Transfer Targets & Watchlist Based on Eye Test & Stats

Watchlist, where I highlight the THREE best transfer targets in each position for FPL GW29 and beyond. The goal is to give managers a watchlist for both the immediate Gameweek and future Gameweeks. All picks are analyzed with stats, fixtures, and current form. LET’S GET INTO IT:

FPL GW29 Transfer Targets

Pedro Porro TOT £5.7

Projected Points GW29-34: 22.0

Porro made his return from injury to reward managers with a nice 7-pointer. Porro now becomes a great transfer for both managers looking to FH in 29 and those who are not looking to free hit, given his great upcoming fixtures of Fulham, Luton, West Ham, and Nottingham Forest. Spurs have the 4^th easiest schedule for defenders over the next six GWs which gives Porro good chances for clean sheets.

Porro is also extremely attacking, with a 0.29 xGI per 90 minutes. Those not on Free Hit could also look at Udogie at just £4.9 and save that money to invest it in other areas on your team. Nevertheless, Spurs defenders are great transfers this week, and Porro is at the top of my defender watchlist.

James Maddison TOT £7.9

Projected Points GW29-34: 32.7

With a goal and an assist in the last two games, Maddison is bringing back the form he showed pre-injury. Maddison is a great footballer with great upcoming fixtures, and the Spurs attack runs through him. I would consider bringing in Maddison in a free hit, and if you are not free hitting, I would also bring him if you want to save money from a player like Son to perhaps bring in Haaland back or Salah back down the line.

Maddison has great underlying stats with a 0.55 xGI per 90 minutes. Spurs have the 3^rd easiest schedule over the next 6 GWs, so a double-up on the attack can be fruitful. Amazing fixtures, on set pieces, playing for a great attacking side; Maddison is one of the best midfielders on my watchlist for GW29.

Ivan Toney BRE £8.1

Projected Points GW29-34: 34.4

With 4 straight blanks, many managers are growing tired of Ivan Toney. However, he remains at the top of my forward watchlist going into GW29 as he has a great fixture in blank GW29 and has good fixtures moving forward. Brentford has the 5^th easiest schedule for attackers over the next 6 GWs, which gives him a good upside and a differential upside as we have a limited amount of forward spots.

Toney’s stats are decent, with a 0.43 xGI per 90 minutes, but we know he is on free kicks and penalties, and with great fixtures, he has high haul potential. Lastly, Toney is one of the best captains in GW29, as he and Son should be the 2 realistic options. Good fixtures, the talisman for his team, and a proven player, Toney is a great forward in my watchlist for GW29.
