FPL GW17 Transfer Targets
Pau Torres AVL AVL Β£4.7
Projected Points GW17-23: 23.5
With back-to-back clean sheets against Manchester City and Arsenal, Aston Villa defenders have to be back on our radar. I know we have had a bad experience with Cash but the fixtures are there for Aston Villa to keep keeping clean sheets. Pau Torres seems like the best option, given his good minutes, and he does carry some attacking threat, with 2 goals scored this season and a 0.10 xGI per 90 minutes.
Aston Villa also has the 4th best defensive schedule over the next 6 GWs, including the best fixture in GW18 against Sheffield United at Home. With good fixtures, nailed minutes, and some attacking threat, Pau Torres is a player firmly on my watchlist.
Cole Palmer CHE Β£5.5
Projected Points GW17-23: 34.9
Palmer has been a revelation this season, with 5 goals and 3 assists since becoming a regular starter in GW7. At his current price, he continues to be a gift, and I would still look to bring him in. Palmer has amazing upcoming fixtures, with the 3rd easiest fixtures for attackers over the next six GWs.
Palmerβs underlying stats are also good for his price, with a 0.51 xGI per 90 minutes. There is a worry about rotation for Palmer; however, he remains so integral for Chelsea that he needs to start most games. With good stats, great fixtures, and the gift of being on penalties, Cole Palmer remains my favorite midfielder to bring in this GW.
In GW16, Palmer faces a Sheffield United team who have conceded 20 goals(highest in the League) in 7 away games and are without an away clean sheet
Dominic Solanke BOU Β£6.6
Projected Points GW17-23: 31.7
With a goal in GW16, Solanke rewarded managers and myself for recommending him as a buy last GW. Solanke remains a great buy this GW as he is as consistent as it gets during a time in which we are losing players to injury, rotation, etc, each GW. Solankeβs fixtures also make him a great buy, as he has the 4th easiest schedule for attackers over the next six GWs.
Since GW11, heβs top for shots(22), shots inside the box(21), 2nd big chances(8), xG(4.55) and xGI(4.8) amongst all players.
Moreover, with Haalandβs injury, this opens up the door to switch to Solanke for his 3 great upcoming fixtures and then switching back to Haaland. Lastly, I know itβs a meme at this point about Bournemouth not getting a penalty, but this is a great thing to have because, as we have seen, they can happen at any minute. With good fixtures, good form, and good underlying stats, Solanke remains as the highest priority forward on my watchlist.
In GW17, Solanke faces a Luton side who have conceded the most big chances(34) and xGC(21.1) in away games. They are also without a clean sheet so far this season away from home
