Welcome back to another captaincy metrics blog, Haaland and Salah are amongst the top FPL Gameweek 7 Captain Picks but with this week being a double gameweek a certain Carlton Morris has also emerged as a captain option for some managers. Let’s see who tops the captaincy metrics this week!

FPL GW7 Captaincy Metrics
FPL GW7 Captaincy poll ~ Wisdom Of the Crowd
Haaland comes out on top of the captaincy poll for FPL Gameweek 7 with 68% of the votes. Carlton Morris is second with 9% of the votes, The Luton Town talisman will face Everton and Burnley in DGW7. The top five is rounded off by Salah, Ward Prowse, and Bowen.

Underlying Numbers of the FPL Gameweek 7 Captain picks
Erling Haaland tops our picks for Underlying Numbers. With 31 Shots Inside the Box, 15 Big Chances in total, and an xG total of 7.88, as he leads the Attacking Stats factor for players in consideration. All the other four players combined together have had 15 big chances whereas Haaland alone has had 15 big chances!
Mohammed Salah comes in behind Haaland for Underlying Numbers. With 14 Shots Inside the Box, 5 Big Chances in total, and an xG total of 3.76.
Bowen, with 12 Shots Inside the Box, 5 Big chances, and an xG total of 2.83, takes the third spot.
Luton Town’s Morris comes fourth behind Bowen with 10 Shots Inside the Box, 3 Big Chances, and an xG total of 2.52. (He has played a game less than the rest)
Ward Prowse gets the last place with 3 Shots Inside the Box, 2 Big Chances, and an xG of 1.59(He has played a game less so far than the rest)

Underlying Numbers of the Candidate’s Teams
Manchester City have the best underlying numbers of the teams in comparison to the last 6 games. A total of 73 Shots Inside the Box and 21 Big Chances, helps in boosting their xG to 13.90, which is the highest of all teams in question.
Liverpool come in behind City, with 67 Shots Inside the Box, 23 Big Chances in Total, and xG at 13.26.
West Ham come behind Liverpool with 49 Shots Inside the Box, 16 Big Chances in Total, and an xG of 9.17.
Luton Town take the last spot with 49 Shots Inside the Box, 10 Big Chances in Total, and an xG of 6.66. (Luton have played a game less than the others)

Fixture Difficulty of the candidate team in FPL GW7
In the Third Phase of the Article, we look at the Fixture Difficulty of our 5 Candidates.
We will use Drafthound’s odds for a Team scoring at least one goal in the Gameweek and the Odds of Scoring more than 2.0 goals in the Gameweek as a whole.
Man City take the first spot, with a 89% chance of scoring at least 1 goal this Gameweek and a 45% chance of scoring more than 2 goals this Gameweek.
West Ham are behind Man City, with an 87% chance of scoring at least 1 goal this week, and a 42% chance of scoring more than 2 goals.
Liverpool have a 83% chance of scoring at least 1 goal this week, and a 33% chance of scoring more than 2 goals.
Luton Town have a 85.5% chance of scoring at least 1 goal this week, and a 19% chance of scoring more than 2 goals. Pretty low odds of 2+ goals in spite of the double!

Projections Rank of our FPL Gameweek 7 Captain Picks
In the Fourth Phase of the article, I have used the Anytime Returns and Projected Points Tools available at Fantasy Football Hub. With the help of the Anytime Returns Tool, I have derived the Safety Rank, which helps in determining the Safest Captaincy Option of the week, while I have used the Projected Points Tool to determine the Explosion Rank, which helps in determining the Most Explosive Option of the week.
Erling Haaland has the highest Anytime Returns Projections at 76%, while his Projected Points stand at 8.7 for the week.
Morris has an Anytime Returns Projection at 60%, and the Projected Points at 8.1 this week, giving him the joint second spot.
Mohammed Salah has an Anytime Returns Projections at 61% and Projected Points at 6.4, which puts him joint 2nd spot with Morris.
Bowen has an Anytime Returns Projections at 42% and Projected Points at 5.1, which puts him in fourth place.
Lastly, Ward Prowse has an Anytime Returns Projections of 42% while the Projected Points stand at 5.1 pushing him to the last spot.

Conclusion – Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 7 Captaincy metric analysis
In the Fifth and Final Phase of the article, I have aggregated the Ranks derived above to pull out the Cumulative Rank Factor (CRF). The Candidate having the lowest Cumulative Rank Factor is the most ideal Captaincy Option according to this metric.
Erling Haaland comes out on top of the metrics, topping the table with a CRF value of 4. A CRF of 4 is the lowest possible CRF possible in our metrics.
Haaland is followed by Mohammed Salah who takes the second place with a CRF value of 10
Bowen takes third place with a CRF value of 12. Morris and Ward Prowse are last, with a CRF value of 15.
