FPL GW33 Tips – Key Questions/Dilemmas Answered

1) How to set up your Wildcard team for FPL GW33?

How to set up your Wildcard team in FPL GW33?

A few FPL managers still have the Wildcard chip available and can stay ahead of the curve by using it in GW33 to finish the season strong. Using the Wildcard now can help you set up a balanced squad for the upcoming double gameweeks, especially when you don’t have the Free Hit available.

The core of your Wildcard team will be around players from Liverpool, Man City and, Man United, Brighton. Getting triple-ups from these teams will help you attack the doubles in GW34 and 37. Newcastle double in GW36 and having one or two defenders plus Alexander Isak can be great for that week.

Arsenal doesn’t have any doubles for the season’s remaining games, and their overall fixtures are tricky. It’s okay to avoid Arsenal players on a Wildcard in Gameweek 33.

Another thing to consider is if you have the Bench Boost chip available. If you do, get budget but high-value options, especially if you plan to use BB in GW34. The Newcastle defensive double-up alongside Isak or even Solanke (if the budget is tight) looks good.

2) What players to target with regular ‘Free Transfers’?

What players to target with regular ‘Free Transfers’?

Starting with goalkeepers, Ederson plus Iversen is a well-balanced combination in goal. It’s a bit extra money for a starting goalkeeper. Still, Ederson gives you a sure-shot starter in the Man City defence, which is tricky to nail otherwise.

Coming to defenders, You can double up on the Newcastle defence on a bench boost with Sven Botman, who provides excellent value. Fabian Schar at £5.1m is better as he provides a lot more attacking threat.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s performances after playing the inverted wing-back role have gotten better. In the last 3 games, he has scored 19 points, getting 4 assists despite keeping no clean sheets. He is looking quite creative, which is also good for his bonus points potential.

Luke Shaw covers off the Man Utd defence. There is good potential for clean sheets if Man Utd can sort out their defence, plus he has a good attacking threat—a viable option if fit and okay to start.

Brighton is conceding goals, but Pervis Estupiñán is playing very high up the pitch, even dropping into attacking midfield positions. Better than Steele, especially if you are going with one Brighton defensive option.

Coming to midfield, Jack Grealish from Man City is a strong midfield option. Grealish has been getting regular game time this season. He looks like a nailed option on the left side of the Man City attack, with Foden still getting back into the team. Marcus Rashford is still a good pick from Man United. It makes sense to get him back for the Man United double in GW34.

Mohamed Salah is another excellent pick to jump on right now. The Liverpool attacker has 12 attacking returns in his 11 last games, scoring 41 points. He has scored 4 in his previous 3 games, scoring 26 points. With other choices slightly irregular in terms of minutes, Salah is comparatively safer for starts and is quite attacking.

The other option in midfield is the double-up on the Brighton attack. They are cheap and provide a lot of value. Mitoma + March is an excellent combo to have for GW33 and beyond.

Considering the majority of managers have Haaland in their teams. The other two spots are where you can get creative. Diogo Jota is a significant differential to jump on right now. He has scored 4 goals in his last 2 games, and the streak can continue with a double in GW34.

Depending on your funds, Dominic Solanke/Alexander Isak will take the 3rd striker spot. Both forwards have been in great form for their respective teams and have potential in the upcoming games.

3) Is it okay to sell Kane Ahead of FPL GW33?

Is it okay to sell Kane Ahead of FPL GW33?

Harry Kane is the 2nd highest-scoring FPL player this season, just behind Haaland. He has 30 attacking returns (24G+6A) and has single-handedly led Tottenham in the attack. Considering his price, he is occupying a premium slot among forwards right now.

The issue with Kane is that he has no double gameweeks coming up, and Tottenham will struggle if he is not firing. The alternate premium pick to go for is Mohamed Salah. He has a double in GW34 and decent fixtures around.

Plus, many managers can only field one of Kane or Salah as per the structure of their team. The better option right now is Salah, and selling Kane does allow you to change the team structure or even improve on other players in your squad. There are good alternatives in Jota/Isak, who have additional fixtures and are currently playing for teams in better-attacking form.

Going without Kane is still risky, as he is scoring goals regularly. He has only blanked once in the last 6 games, and his ownership will be pretty high.

If you are trying to play safe, holding Kane is still an option. But it’s worth it if you want to be aggressive, and selling him helps you get to Mohamed Salah, Trent or even a Jota.

4) What to do with Arsenal players right now?

What to do with Arsenal players right now?

Arsenal is still top of the Premier League and has been brilliant all season. They have a lot of good FPL picks that provide high value. Like Harry Kane and Tottenham, Arsenal also doesn’t have any double gameweeks from now till the end of the season.

Their fixtures from GW33-36 are against trickier oppositions. If there was a time to let go of your Arsenal players, that time is right now. Players from Man City, Liverpool, Brighton and even Man United have good points potential with additional double fixtures from GW34-37.

Arsenal has only kept 1 clean sheet in their last 6 matches, and their defenders are a sell. You can go for Trent, Shaw or even a Man City defender if you are okay with taking some risk.

It gets tricky with the attackers. Martinelli, Saka and Odegaaard rank among the season’s top 4 highest-scoring MIDs. Arsenal’s attack has ranked among the top 2 for xG, and goals scored throughout the season. They can score goals despite the challenging games ahead.

If you want to protect your current rank and consolidate your position, you can hold 1 Arsenal attacker. But suppose you want to catch up on your mini-league rivals and gain rank. In that case, the more aggressive strategy is to sell them and go for players having double gameweek fixtures in the coming weeks.

That will be all from my side for this week! All the best for FPL Gameweek 33, and I will see you all next week.
