FPL GW24 Captaincy poll ~ Wisdom Of the Crowd
Without any surprises, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland tops the polls yet again. He’s followed by Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Tottenham’s Harry Kane. The candidate’s list is rounded up by Haaland’s teammate, Riyad Mahrez, and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.

Underlying Numbers of the FPL Gameweek 24 Captain picks
Marcus Rashford tops our picks for Underlying Numbers. With 15 Shots Inside the Box, 6 Big Chances in total and an xG total of 3.27, as he leads the Attacking Stats factor for players in consideration.
Haaland, with 13 Shots Inside the Box, 9 Big chances and an xG total of 2.86, gets beaten again and gets the second spot.
Harry Kane rounds up the podium places at third amassing 18 Shots Inside the Box, 4 Big Chances, and xG total of 2.78.
Riyad Mahrez gets fourth place with 7 Shots Inside the Box, 4 Big Chances, and an xG of 2.24.
Bukaya Sako gets the last spot with 16 Shots Inside the Box, 1 Big Chances, and an xG of 1.69.

Underlying Numbers of the Candidate’s Teams
Manchester City have the best underlying numbers of the teams in comparison in the last 6 games. A total of 54 Shots Inside the Box and 23 Big Chances, helps in boosting their xG to 12.28, which is the highest of all teams in question.
Arsenal come in behind Manchester City, with 71 Shots Inside the Box, their 9 Big Chances in Total and xG at 10.33 pushes them below Manchester City in our tables.
Manchester United come in behind Arsenal with 51 Shots Inside the Box, 13 Big Chances in total, and an xG of 9.36.
Tottenham come in last with 52 Shots Inside the Box, 10 Big Chances in Total, and an xG of 7.54.

Fixture Difficulty of the candidate team in FPL GW24
In the Third Phase of the Article, we look at the Fixture Difficulty of our 5 Candidates.
We will use Drafthound’s odds for a Team scoring at least One goal in the Gameweek and the Odds of Scoring more than 2.5 goals in the Gameweek as a whole.
Manchester City lead the teams with an 87% chance of scoring at least 1 goal this Gameweek, and also have a 40% chance of scoring more than 2 goals this week.
Manchester United come in behind City, with a 85% chance of scoring at least 1 goal this Gameweek and a 38% chance of scoring more than 2 goals this Gameweek.
Tottenham are behind United, with an 80% chance of scoring at least 1 goal this week, and a 29% chance of scoring more than 2 goals.
And lastly, it’s Arsenal who have a 78% chance of scoring at last 1 goal this week, and a 25% chance of scoring more than 2 goals.

Projections Rank of our FPL Gameweek 24 Captain Picks
In the Fourth Phase of the article, I have used the Anytime Returns and Projected Points Tools available at Fantasy Football Hub. With the help of the Anytime Returns Tool, I have derived the Safety Rank, which helps in determining the Safest Captaincy Option of the week, while I have used the Projected Points Tool to determine the Explosion Rank, which helps in determining the Most Explosive Option of the week.
I have then averaged the Two Ranks to churn out the Average Rank Factor, which I have used to determine the Safest yet Explosive option.
Erling Haaland has the highest Anytime Returns Projections at 77%, while his Projected Points stand at 8.1 for the week.
Marcus Rashford has an Anytime Returns Projection at 65%, and the Projected Points at 7.3 this week, just behind the Manchester City talisman.
Harry Kane has an Anytime Returns Projections at 65% and Projected Points at 6.8, which puts him in third place.
Riyad Mahrez has an Anytime Returns Projections at 64% and Projected Points at 6.1, which puts him in fourth.
Bukayo Saka has an Anytime Returns Projections of 44% while the Projected Points stand at 5.0, pushing him to the last spot.

Conclusion – Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 24 Captaincy metric analysis
In the Fifth and Final Phase of the article, I have aggregated the Ranks derived above to pull out the Cumulative Rank Factor (CRF). The Candidate having the lowest Cumulative Rank Factor is the most ideal Captaincy Option according to this metric.
Erling Haaland, comes out on top this week, with a CRF Value of 5.
Marcus Rashford and Riyad Mahrez come behind Haaland,with a CRF value of 10 each.
Harry Kane comes fourth with a CRF value of 15.
And lastly, Bukayo Saka rounds up our tables with a CRF value of 18.
