FPL GW23 Scout Picks
FPL GW23 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper
Truth be told Ederson has been a disappointing asset for owners who brought him after the World cup break with City keeping only 2 clean sheets in 7 games since restart, they have however conceded only 7 goals(8th best) but from only an xGC of 5.4(2nd best). Ederson has scored only 21 points in the 7 games.
But with a double gameweek coming up, it was hard to look past him in our scout picks for GW22. Ederson has an excellent home game against Aston Villa and then a tricky trip to Arsenal, but one clean sheet and a couple of save points against Arsenal would guarantee 10 points for Ederson.
Man City have the highest odds of a clean sheet this week with a 55% chance of CS vs Aston villa, the odds are low for the Arsenal game which is expected. Man City have a 29% chance of CS vs Arsenal which is also slightly more than Arsenal’s odds of CS vs Man City(27%)
FPL GW23 Scout Picks Defenders
Luke Shaw did not live up to the double gameweek expectation losing the CS in both games scoring only 6 points. However, he got an assist in the first game plus was guaranteed to keep CS vs Palace until Casemiro got a red card which led to 10-man Man united conceding a goal late in the game vs Palace.
He was also influential in Sancho’s goal against Leeds and could have got the assist as well. He’s in great form and his attacking threat is very high, Shaw could be a solid option as Man united once again play against Leeds.
Gabriel has a Double Gameweek vs Brentford and Man City at Home. Arsenal along with Newcastle and City are the Top 3 defensive sides in the league and it is a good move to have an Arsenal defender considering Arsenal have 2 Double Gameweeks in the next 3 Gameweeks. Newcastle have a blank in GW25, City defenders minutes are unpredictable as well. So it makes sense to target an Arsenal defender. Among Arsenal defenders, Gabriel has the highest goal threat and hence makes the cut.
Trippier doesn’t need explanation. He simply fetches you a minimum of 9 points every week. Playing a Bournemouth side at home who has scored just 1 goal from the last 6 games is just an added bonus.

FPL GW23 Scout Picks Midfielders
Saka and Odegaard
- 2 Doubles in next 3 Gameweeks
- Confirmed fixture in GW28
- Nailed to start all the games, No rotation risk
- Saka- Likely to be on penalties as well and has returned in 4 out of the last 6 games, 4 out of the last 5 home games.
- Odegaard- 5 goals, 4 assists, 71 points from last 9 games including 4 Double Digit Hauls
Mahrez is the most in form Man City Midfielder at the moment with 3 goals, 4 assists, 46 points from 7 games since the World Cup break. Surprisngly he is still a good differential option at just 11% ownership right now. He makes the cut ahead of KDB and Grealish as seen by better underlying numbers and output since the World Cup in the below image.

Rashford is in “The form of his life” and is too difficult to ignore despite the blank in GW25. We should plan our squads in such a way that we can bench his for GW25 blank rather than transfer him out. Rashford has failed to score in only one game since GW17 and has 7 goals, 2 assists, 66 FPL points from 8 games during this period.
Mitoma completes the midfield who is in excellent form of his own. 7, 8, 6, 10, 11- These are the FPL returns from the 5.2 Midfielder over the last 5 Gameweeks. Over the last 5 GWs, Only Rashford and Fernandes has more FPL points than Mitoma in the league, but it is to be noted that the Manchester United boys have played 2 extra games during this period.

FPL GW23 Scout Picks Forwards
Haaland despite a dull game against Spurs in GW22 can’t be ignored as a Captaincy option due to the Double Gameweek against Villa, Arsenal. He has good underlying numbers and would be keen to prove a point to silence the critics! Do check out our Captaincy Metrics before locking your Captaincy pick.
Harry Kane punished his sellers with a goal once again in GW22 against Man City. With just 5 blanks from 22 games, he can be consistently relied upon to deliver the goods. Leicester City are Harry Kane’s favorite opponents- Kane has 18 goals, 4 assists from 15 games against Leicester City averaging 1.46 attacking returns per game in the Premier League. Leicester have conceded the most goals in the League and are without a clean sheet since the World Cup break. Some things are certain in life and Harry Kane returning against Leicester is almost certainly one of them.
