FPL GW10 Review ~ Key stats:
FPL Gameweek 10 Review Notes – Sunday Games
- Saka and Martinelli both played exceptionally well against Liverpool. Saka had the 2nd highest xG of 1.89 (also the 2nd highest npxG) where he took 4 shots (highest in the game) and Martinelli had the highest xA of 1.03 this week among all players. Martinelli had the highest npxGi of 1.51 this week. Arsenal are not only on top of the point table but also had the 2nd highest team xG in GW10 which reflect their brilliant form. Xhaka again looked lively in the attacks.
- Liverpool looked awful defensively yet again. Diaz was playing well but subbed off with an injury early in the game. Despite that, he managed to get the highest xA 0.48 in the squad with an assist to his name. Núñez seems to be slowly adapting to the team having the highest xG 0.54 for them and scoring 1 goal where he took 3 shots. Salah was not involved in the attacks and was taken off at 75’.
- Bowen topped in both xG 1.93 and npxG 1.17 this week among all players. He’s on penalty duty for West Ham. Bowen had several assist opportunities and could’ve had a bigger day. Lucas Paquetá (top xA in the team with 0.40) and Scamacca (2nd highest xG 1.02 in the team) also had a wonderful game this week. West Ham had the highest team xG of 3.44.
- Eze had the highest xGi of 1.03 for Crystal Palace this week. Zaha was relatively quiet in the first half but in the second half with some tactical changes by the manager, he played better. He took the highest amount of shots (4) in the game. Ayew could’ve assisted Zaha but he was selfish.
- Martial had the highest xA 0.58 for his team despite playing only 28 mins before he went off injured. Antony (Brazilian) now has 3 goals in his last 3 league games and he got the most amount of xG 0.61 for his team this week.
FPL Gameweek 10 Review Notes – Saturday Games
- Foden was the best player on the pitch with the most xGi 1.13 (xG 0.62, xA 0.51) for City whereas Haaland had the highest xG for them with 0.73 (2nd highest xGi with 1.09 for them). Foden and Haaland took 4 and 5 shots respectively. Grealish had xGi of 0.73 playing only 30 mins after coming on from sub. Mahrez also had a good game having the third highest xG 0.46 (scored 1 goal, took 4 shots) in the team. Man City scored 31 goals in their last 7 home games.
- Newcastle scored 4+ goals back to back this week. They had a team xG of 2.45 having scored 5 against Brentford. Almiron could be on the watchlist who’s been in terrific form lately. He had the highest xG of 0.90 for his team this week. Trippier had the highest xA 0.63 (3rd best among all) for them.
- Christie had the highest xG 0.81 (5 shots taken) for Bournemouth this week. Solanke had two assists in the game where he had the highest xA 0.57 for Bournemouth. Bournemouth haven’t been beaten since their 9-0 defeat to Anfield five games ago.
- Leicester are still not looking good at the back but their defender Castagne had the highest xA 0.64 this week among all teams.
- Chelsea looked impressive in the attack. Havertz topped in the xG (1.05) list for his team this week (scored 1 goal). Gallagher had the joint 3rd best xA 0.63 this week with Trippier among all players. Mount (got 2 assists) and Pulisic (scored 1 goal) both looked impressive in the attacks.
- Toney scored a goal from a penalty but his performance was not up to the mark where he had only npxG of 0.05.
- Familiar names Kane and Son had the highest xG 0.62 and the highest xA 0.51 respectively for Spurs this week. Kane hasn’t had a blank since their very first game of the season.
- Despite having more team xG (0.90) than Spurs (xG 0.77), Brighton couldn’t break the deadlock. Mitoma played brilliantly after coming on from the bench and had the highest xG 0.38 in the squad.
