FPL GW8 Scout Picks

FPL GW8 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper

Nick Pope is the highest scoring Goal Keeper in the game with 36 points so far. Newcastle are 6th worst for shots conceded but are 7th best for xGC in the league which means more save points for Pope. Pope has racked up 28 saves and 6 bonus points already. Up against a Bournemouth side who have most xG(2.53) in the league, Pope is a no-brainer.

FPL GW8 Scout Picks- Defenders

Trippier is the second highest scoring defender in the game with 30 points and looks like a must own considering how strong Newcastle are in defense and have good fixtures- Bournemouth, Fulham and Brentford in the next 3 games. Trippier is on corner and free kicks which adds to his attacking and bonus potential. Bournemouth have conceded 100 crosses down their left flank(where Trippier operates) which is 25 more than any team in the league⁣ which adds his appeal for GW8.

Cancelo has 5 returns from 6 games(3 clean sheets, 1 goal, 1 assist) which makes him the highest scoring defender with 33 points. City have the best xGC in the league and their GW8 opponent Wolves have scored the least goals(3) in the league which makes Cancelo a top GW8 pick. Apart from this, Cancelo also had 3 assists from 2 UCL games in the past 2 weeks.

Saliba takes up the third defender slot. Arsenal had 2 clean sheets so far and Saliba has played very minute getting a goal and assist on the way.

FPL GW8 Scout Picks- Midfielders

Martinelli has not put a foot wrong this season with 3 goals, 1 assist this season and had risen in price from 6.0 to 6.5. He should fancy his chances in GW8 against Brentford.

Bowen has not started well this season with 0 goal contributions from 6 games, but could be a great differential option considering the great fixtures. Everton have conceded 28 chances from their left flank(Highest among all teams) this season. This is where Bowen operates which makes him a solid Differential option ahead of GW8. Foden has 1 goal, 3 assists from 6 games so far but is spoken of very little at moment at just 7.4% ownership. He was rested in the midweek Champions League and made immediate impact with City completing a 2-1 comeback win only after the substitutes came. This means Foden should surely start in GW8 as both Grealish and Mahrez looked poor in UCL game.

Maddison has a difficult Spurs game in GW8, but completes the midfield largely due to the upcoming fixtures from GW9- Forest, Bournemouth, Palace, Leeds, Wolves.

FPL GW8 Scout Picks- Forwards

Haaland is a no-brainer considering the form he is in as he has returned in all of his 8 games(6 PL, 2 UCL) in his City career so far. He also takes up the arm band as he tops almost all the metrics like Expected Goals, Big chances in the league.

Kane is the second premium in our GW8 Scout Picks squad largely due to the tempting fixture vs Leicester City. Kane has 20 attacking(17 goals, 3 assists) returns from 14 games⁣ vs Leicester City over the years. He has silently had a good start- 5 goals, 1 assist, 40 points from 6 games this season⁣.

Isak completes the squad after an impressive start in his first 2 Gameweeks in Premier League against Liverpool and Palace. From 2 games, he has 3 big chance involvements with a Non-Penalty Expected Goal Involvement of 0.8 per game which looks good from a FPL point of view.
