It’s just one week into the season, but here we are considering whether to wildcard or not. This season with unlimited transfers available after GW16 due to the World Cup break, an early Wildcard isn’t bad actually this time around. We are definitely not recommending to Wildcard in FPL GW2 but there is no right or wrong in FPL. This blog is for managers who are keen on Wildcarding in GW2. In this article, we will look at the best Wildcard drafts to consider ahead of FPL GW2.

The metrics will be posted based on the votes. PS: The poll has been slightly slow this week, so do look at the result and then vote. The votes are updated and might take a bit to show on the screen, Apologies for the same.
FPL GW2 Wildcard Drafts
Pros of playing Wildcard in FPL GW2:
- Easy route to must-own players like Salah and Haaland if you haven’t got them in GW1 and got behind due to price changes.
- Go to the Team structure which you want without multiple hits.
- Can go three strikers formation in Nunez-Jesus-Haaland which most teams us missed having in GW1.
- Take advantage of spotting Differentials if you have already spotted them. Some players might be Differentials now, but highly owned around GW6.
Cons of Playing Wildcard in FPL GW2:
- Pre-mature strategy with not much of sample space and data. Some teams will take time to settle down and a few change in tactics could change their fortunes.
- GW3 might be a good time to Wildcard if with more info and Chelsea vs Tottenham fixture goes out and all the big teams have a good run of fixtures.
- Uncertainty around the fitness of players like Perisic and Doherty.
FPL GW2 Wildcard Draft 1:
- Kulusevski/Saka/Bowen are good options to consider in place of Diaz.
- Double up on City defense with Walker and Cancelo. City looked really strong in defense.
- Use the 0.5 in the bank to upgrade Walker to Perisic when Perisic is fully fit. Can switch the 8.0 slot to Foden a little later when he nails down his spot to Double up on the City attack.

FPL GW2 Wildcard Draft 2:
- Dream front three of Darwin, Jesus and Haaland which could be template in the coming weeks.
- Saliba looks to be the 4.5 million defender in the game till GW8 considering the fixtures and his man-of-the-match performance against Palace.
- Rodrigo/Aaronson is the Differential pick due to the Leeds great fixtures and can be moved to Bruno/Neto/KDH depending upon the form in coming weeks.
