Alexander-Arnold’s injury makes it no surprise he leads the charge for most transfers out, with 236k managers replacing the game’s most expensive defender. Wolves forward Jimenez is replaced by 208k managers as a result of his red card suspension.

Bowen (102k) makes yet another appearance on the top transfers out, followed by Coutinho (88k), the only player on the list without some sort of doubt or suspension. Ramsdale wraps up the top 5 transfers out list with 86k managers looking for other goalkeeper options.

On the flip side, Robertson is the hottest property heading into GW31, with 130k managers bringing him in. Havertz follows closely, with 110k managers eager to get in on the Chelsea attack.

Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka makes another appearance on the list, with another 89k managers impressed by his recent streak of returns. The two big premiums of Salah (80k) and Kane (76k) wrap up the final two spots of the list as managers look to target their fixtures towards the end of the season.

The 3 transfer combinations we will be focusing on are: Cash to Rüdiger, Dias to Robertson, and Saiss to Cancelo (very defensively-oriented choices).

After a couple of blank gameweeks for Chelsea, interest for Chelsea assets, particularly the investment in their defensive assets, has risen again. Chelsea’s Rudiger will be among the names talked about to bring in.

Among all Chelsea defenders in the last 6 gameweeks, Rudiger has registered the most shots (5), shots on target (2), and touches in the box (5). In the last 5 Premier League fixtures for Chelsea, Rudiger has returned an average of 4.8 points, consisting of 4 clean sheets.

James would be an exciting prospect too, provided he is deemed fit to play. Given Tuchel’s tendency to rotate, those looking for a safer, nailed asset should consider Rudiger.

FPL GW31 Transfer Combination 2:

Ruben Dias (£6.2) to Andy Robertson (£7.3)

Dias‘ injury rules him out until past GW31, which prompts managers to set their sights on one of the hottest prospects heading into GW31: Liverpool’s Andy Robertson.

Part of the reason could be due to Alexander-Arnold’s doubt, many managers opting for Robertson as their defensive cover. While it may be a smart move to hold onto Trent, managers with the capability of doubling up on Liverpool to include both Trent and Robertson could benefit massively, given Liverpool’s defensive stability and with one more game in hand.

In the last 8 Premier League games that he has started in, Robertson has returned in all of them, including 4 double digit hauls. He has registered 6 assists and 7 clean sheets. That’s an average of 9 points a game!

Statistically in the last 6 gameweeks, he has registered 12 key passes, 2 big chances, and 14 touches in the box. With an xAssists of 1.28, he is a clear creative force in the Liverpool attack.

FPL GW31 Transfer Combination 3:

Romain Saïss (£5.1) to Joao Cancelo (£6.9)

17% of managers have begun the swap from Saiss to Cancelo. Their lack of double gameweeks meant many managers diverted away from City assets, including prolific assets like Cancelo. Now, with City’s favourable lineup of fixtures coming up, many are making the return to the City wingback.

In the last 6 gameweeks, Cancelo’s stats are overshadowed by other assets who benefit from the boost of the double gameweeks. However, Cancelo still registers a decent amount of touches in the box, shots taken, and entries into the box. Among City defenders, he would be the standout pick, given his tendency to get involved with the attack.

Who do Man City face in GW31?

City play Burnley away in GW31. City are favourites this week for a clean sheet according to Drafthound, with 64% odds for a clean sheet. City also remain one of the better teams in terms of defensive stability, being 2nd best for shots conceded, shots in the box conceded, and big chances conceded.

With Burnley’s xGC of 1.38, Cancelo could also get a goal too. City’s fixture run towards the end of the season (and with a potential double on the horizon) makes Cancelo a good hold.

City have only conceded 6 big chances in the last 6 gameweeks.

That has been 3 potential transfer combinations that FPL managers could consider prior to the Gameweek 31 deadline. Hope this blog provided a bit of insight on viable FPL moves you could take!
