UCL Fantasy | MD6 | Differentials To Consider Ahead of Tuesday’s Deadline

We are back again one final time this season for the group stages of Uefa Champions League 21/22 after my last UCL Fantasy Differential blog for MD5, Before we begin the UCL Fantasy MD6 Differentials blog, as always I would like to give thanks to everyone who takes time out and reads my blog, I really appreciate it and keeps me motivated to keep going, so a big thank you 🙂

Also, if you like my content, feel free to drop me a follow on Twitter for more updates: @FPLRossoneri.

Now let’s get back to why you are here in the first place: UCL Fantasy MD6 Differentials, after MD5 now there are 11 teams that have already qualified for the knockout stages of the Uefa Champions League, hence we might again see some rotation especially with the likes of Ajax, Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Manchester United who have already qualified as winners of their respective groups.

Looking at the MD6 fixtures, there are some great fixtures and teams to target for differentials like Dortmund vs Besiktas, PSG vs Club Brugge, Juventus vs Malmo, and Benfica vs Dynamo Kyiv.

Along with this UCL Fantasy MD6 Differentials article, you can find the link to all our Champions League Fantasy blogs here. We have separate blogs for captaincy and Differential do check it out on the link.

All data used in this article has been taken from FBREF

UCL Fantasy MD5 Differentials (<10% TSB)

Jonathan David~LOSC Lille, 7.8M, TSB: 0%

Johnathan David~LOSC Lille
Can J David help Lille get to the R16?

Jonathan David has been a revelation so far for Lille in Ligue 1 ever since his arrival from Gent last year, he played a major part in helping Lille dethrone PSG and become the champions in France last year.

Last year saw him score 13xG & 2xA in 29 league starts & he’s only gone on to improve even further on those performances this year.

So far in Ligue 1, Jonathan David has already scored 11xG from 13 starts with an xG of 9.4 which puts him on top of the scoring charts even ahead of the likes of Kylian Mbappe.

Per 90 minutes J David boasts an xG+xA of 0.88 which suggests that if Lille are to score, it will most likely be via J David.

In the Champions League so far LOSC Lille are top of their group and in MD6 need a win away at VfL Wolfsburg which in their current form is more likely.

J David costs only 7.8M & is owned by 0% of managers in UCL Fantasy so he can be your uber differential for MD6.

Mario Pasalic~Atalanta, 7.9M, TSB: 0%

Mario Pasalic~Atalanta
MD5: 5 pts

Looking at every Matchday so far, I think my differential article is incomplete if I don’t include an Atalanta player in it :D.

The likes of Duvan Zapata, Davide Zappacosta & Robin Gosens have all been mentioned in my previous articles, this time around its Mario Pasalic’s turn to feature as the differential in MD6 in UCL Fantasy.

Mario Pasalic has been quietly racking up the numbers recently in Serie A playing as LW/RW/AM & even as FWD in one of the games for Gasperini’s Atalanta.

In 11 starts so far Pasalic has been involved in 12 goal contributions: 7xG+5xA with an overall xG+xA of 8.2, this might suggest that he’s over-performing at the moment but I would argue he is in quite the form of late.

He even banged in a hat trick from left-wing vs Venezia last week so he can be a great differential to target for this upcoming MD6.

Atalanta again are one of those teams who have something to play for in MD6, a win over Villarreal can seal their progress to the last 16 of the Champions League this year.

Mario Pasalic like Johnathan David is also 0% owned in UCL Fantasy and at 7.9M, he can be your go-to man if one of your midfielders is rumored to be rested or injured for MD6, perfect as my UCL Fantasy MD6 Differentials pick.

Alejandro Grimaldo~Benfica, 4.7M, TSB: 1%

Alex Grimaldo~Benfica
MD5: 7pts

I have been a long-time fan of both Alex Grimaldo & Alex Telles when he used to play in the Portuguese league. Alex Grimaldo is your modern-day wingback who likes to attack and get on the scoresheet once in a while.

This year so far in the Primeira Liga, Grimaldo has produced 2xG & 3xA in 10 starts from left wing-back which in my opinion is quite a good return.

He also has 1xA, 14 ball recoveries & 3 clean sheets so far in UCL Fantasy for Benfica.

In Group E, Benfica are again one of those teams who can qualify for the R16 if they win their remaining game vs Dynamo Kyiv & hope that Bayern Munich does them a favor by beating Barcelona.

According to Drafthound, there is a 75% chance of a Benfica win vs Dynamo Kyiv in MD6 & a clean sheet could also be on the cards.

Alex Grimaldo is currently only owned by 1% of UCL Fantasy managers, if you are looking for a reliable source of points for MD6 for a budget, then look no further than Grimaldo as your UCL Fantasy MD6 Differential.

Notable Mentions: Reece James~5.3M-TSB:9%, Thomas Meunier~5.5M-TSB: 5%, Alex Telles~5.4M-TSB: 0%

Kevin De Bruyne~Manchester City, 11M, TSB: 4%

UCL Fantasy~MD6~Differentials~Kevin De Bruyne~Manchester City
KDB fit to play in MD6

Kevin De Bruyne is arguably one of the best midfielders if not the best in the world, just to put that into context, KDB in the last 2 seasons in the Premier League has had 51 goal contributions with 19xG & 32xA in just 60 games.

Also, I think KDB is one of the few players when fit is safe from the “Pep Roulette” which is the case in MD6 of UCL Fantasy.

Pep Guardiola will want to have one of his main men(KDB) fit and firing for the busy Christmas fixtures with enough minutes under his belt and this dead rubber game vs RB Leipzig is the perfect way to do it.

KDB is only 4% owned at this moment and can be a massive differential in MD6 and the best part is, we will be getting the Man City line-up confirmed before the UCL Fantasy deadline which is great especially for managers playing their Limitless/Wildcard chip this matchday.

Alex Sandro~Juventus, 5.8M, TSB: 7%

UCL Fantasy~MD6~Differentials~Alex Sandro~Juventus
Juventus vs Malmo: Need I say more?

Juventus were decimated by Chelsea in MD5 with a 4-0 humiliating defeat at Stamford Bridge, and this is the reason I feel Max Allegri will play a strong 11 vs Malmo to get the players to forget what happened in the last MD.

Alex Sandro has already got 1xG and boasts the second most ball recoveries in the Juventus backline with 25 BRs to his name.

Again in MD6 Sandro can easily bag a goal or assist vs Malmo & add to that an almost certain clean sheet, he could be in for a big points haul in MD6.

Alex Sandro is currently only owned by 7% of UCL Fantasy Managers out there and he could be a good differential especially if budget is not a problem for you or you are playing your Limitless chip in MD6.

Darwin Nunez~Benfica, 7.6M, TSB:1%

UCL Fantasy~MD6~Differentials~Darwin Nunez~Benfica
Darwin Nunez can be a good differential with TSB:1%

Nunez is another form player playing a weak team in MD6, he will be looking to improve his goal tally when Benfica plays Dynamo Kyiv at home.

In UCL, Nunez already has 3xG and 1 POTM award to his name in 5 MD’s so far with that brace at Nou Camp vs Barcelona being his best performance.

In the Primeira Liga, Darwin Nunez averages a goal a game at least according to his numbers, 0.98 xG/90 mins is the mark of an in-form striker. Overall he has 8xG & 2xG in 10 starts.

As mentioned before Benfica can qualify for the next round of UCL if they beat Dynamo Kyiv and Bayern defeat Barcelona.

Nunez is only owned by 1% of UCL Fantasy managers and at 7.6M if you are looking for a mid-priced forward, he can definitely get the job done.

Notable mentions: Paulo Dybala~9.2M-TSB: 2%, Duvan Zapata~9.8M-TSB:1%
