GW12 is around the corner and there is excitement amongst FPL managers as we prepare ourselves for the festive period fixture. Starting this weekend we have six-game weeks in just 21 days. The big hitters are definitely bound to be rotated and a few differentials for the festive period will help you keep climbing up in the rankings. With some key players returning from injuries and new players settling in and sealing their spots has opened up a lot of differential options.
As usual, our differential article has six players with all of them having less than 10% ownership and have a high chance of returning for that particular GW and beyond. Check out our top differential options for FPL GW12 below!
Note: All player ownership & price are from the data at the time of writing, subject to change as we move close to the FPL GW12 deadline
FPL GW 12 Differential picks
Danny Ings vs Sheffield United (H), £8.3 TSB: 6.2%
One of FPL manager’s favorite players, Ings is back from injury and played 45 minutes against Brighton scoring a penalty and taking two bonus points as well just like old times. Southampton have further improved from last season and this will further benefit Ings who has already been involved in 8 goals in the eight games he has played so far this season.
He’s up against Sheffield United who have not kept a single CS so far this season. Sheffield have particularly looked woeful in the last four weeks conceding the most goals(8), 65 shots on goal(3rd highest), 22 shots on target(3rd highest) and are certainly the team to target. Ings and Southampton will look to be amongst the goals to continue the good start to the season.
Southampton and Ings in stats:
- Southampton are the fourth-highest scoring team(21 goals) in the premier league so far this season having scored more goals than Man City and Man United.
- Since the start of last season, Ings has scored 27 goals which is one more than Salah and second only to Vardy who has scored 32.
- He is still the seventh-highest scoring forward with 55 points in spite of missing few games due to injury and has more points than Che Adams.
This might also be the last time we write him on our differentials blog as we are pretty sure he’ll be a popular pick in no time!

Jarod Bowen vs Leeds United (A), £6.3 TSB: 2.6%
After a massive 13 point haul against Aston Villa in GW10, Bowen put on another impressive performance against Manchester United in GW11 but was unfortunate not to score or get an assist. He’s currently the second highest scoring midfielder priced below 6.8 with 54 points, only set piece expert JWP outscoring him.
Bowen vs Manchester United: Shots on goal: 5 Shots on target: 0 Shots inside box: 4 Big Chances: 1 xG:0.40 Key passes:2 Big chances created:1 xA:0.56
Those are some good numbers and he’s up against Leeds who have conceded 38 shots, 19 of them on target and nine big chances over the last two weeks. These are pretty high numbers and West ham will look to exploit the Leeds defense.

Raphinha vs West Ham United (H), £5.4 TSB: 0.5%
The Brazilian winger has slowly been eased into the team by Bielsa and has now become an integral part of the team. He has looked lively over the past couple of games and plays for one of the most attacking teams in the division.
Raphinha Stats over the last two weeks: Shots on goal: 6 Shots on target: 2 Shots inside box: 5 xG:0.37 Goals:1 Key passes:4 Big chances created:1 xA:0.64
The numbers look good and Beilsa confirmed his 11 for the game against West Ham with raphinha. A very cheeky differential with less than 1% ownership but could very well work out this week.

Sergio Regulion vs Crystal Palace (A), £5.7 TSB:5.7%
Spurs are defending like a Jose Mourinho team this season and the numbers really back up the same. They are the best defensive team in the league this season with least goals conceded(9), Most clean sheets(5), 2nd least big chances conceded(11) this season. The best fact is that spurs defenders are under-owned with Doherty who hasn’t started the last three games, the most owned at 6.4%.
Spurs have kept four consecutive clean sheets which included games against Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea. They conceded just one goal in their last 6 games which proves how strong they are at the back. One of the safest options from the Spurs defense is Regulion who has started 7 of the eight games so far this season since joining from Real Madrid. He’s also not been subbed off on any occasion so far. Spurs play Palace and they run into better fixtures- With just Leicester and Liverpool(FDR >3) till GW19.

Christian Pulisic vs Everton (A), £8.2 TSB: 2.2%
A lot was expected out of Pulisic this season after the Chelsea had a brilliant run of form towards the end of last season. But recurring injuries meant he could start just three games so far this season. However he seems to be hitting full fitness and played 60 mins last week against Leeds scoring a goal as well.
He’s expected to start after being left an unused sub in the mid week CL game. Chelsea face an Everton side who have conceded the most goals(11) and third most big chances(17) since GW6. Everton have also registered one CS which came came in GW1 and have just one win in their last five games.

Olie Watkins vs Wolves (A) £6.1 TSB: 8.1%
Watkins went from a potential 13 point haul to zero points in a matter of few minutes against West ham in GW10 and then missed out in GW11 after their game was postponed. It’s to be noted he’s playing for Villa who have been highly attacking this season and with Grealish behind him he’ll continue to get good chances.
Aston Villa have wolves, Burnley, West Brom and Crystal Palace up next and Watkins will look to be amongst the goals. With a lot of managers moving out Vardy to get in Salah, Watkins could be a very good differential option for this week and the next few games.
