The 2020/21 FPL season couldn’t have got to a tougher start with a couple of low scoring game weeks. GW3 saw the average points drop to a mere 43 points in spite of the fact that lo of managers wildcarding. The average points scored by wildcard teams were in fact lesser than the ones who didn’t play Wildcard in GW3. As the season progress, we expect this to ease and we should see a lot of high scoring weeks coming our way. So in order to help you get those crucial extra points over your rivals, we’re here with the Allaboutfpl top 5 differential picks for GW4. By mixing a few of these differentials with your FPL GW4 squads you’ll be able to get those extra differential points and climb up the ranking with a green arrow.
As always, our differential article has five players with less than 10% ownership who have a high chance of returning for that particular GW and beyond. Check out our top differential options for FPL GW4 below!

FPL GW4 Differential Picks:
1. Harvey Barnes vs West Ham United (H) £7.0 Mil TSB: 5.7%
Jamie Vardy and the Leicester full-backs have rightly taken FPL spotlight over the opening few weeks thanks to their exploits. But one man who has been silently performing well has been Harvey Barnes £7.0 Mil, who has so far recording a goal and assist in the opening three-game weeks. The only fact that this number could have been definitely more.
The Leicester City attacker has recorded a remarkable 12 shots on goal so far, just one behind mane and five behind leader Mo Salah, who has recorded league-high 17 shots on goal during the period. Barnes has also registered the most shots on target (7) and is also second in the list for most shots inside the box(10). He has had one big chance and an xG of 1.54 in the first three games.
Barnes has also registered 49 final third passes with a completion percentage of 84% and has taken 20 touches inside the penalty box(fifth highest) meaning he has a knack for an assist and could win some penalties as well. Leicester enjoy a good run of fixtures against WHU, AVL, ARS, and LEEDS and Barnes could be a good differential asset to own over the period. Surely his maiden England call-up will add to the motivation to score as well.

2.Leandro Trossard vs Everton(A) £6.0 Mil TSB: 1.7%
Trossard, £6.0 Mil, has had a decent start to the season scoring a goal and assisting one more in the opening two weeks considering the fact they have faced two of the big six already. But he has also been the unluckiest player so far this season having hit the post 4 times already. Over the first three games Trossard has registered 8 shots, 3 on target, 7 key passes, 2 big chances created, xA(1.08), and 15 points.
Brighton and Trossard have good fixtures starting GW4 with Everton, Crystal Palace, and West Brom in the next three. We fully expect his ongoing connection with the goal post to end which should result in goals for the Brighton attacker in the coming weeks.
Midweek Carabao Cup Update: Trossard did not start against Man Utd, but came in on as a substitute as Brighton lost 3-0 once again to United in the span of four days.

3. Raheem Sterling vs Leeds United(A) £11.5 Mil TSB: 6.2%
Sterling £11.5 Mil, could be another very good differential pick, yes it is surprising, to be honest, to put him once again in the differential blog. But for some reason, his ownership is just a bit above 6%. Sterling has not yet scored in the league in the opening two weeks having registered just one assist in the first two games of the season. Raz should be hungry for goals and there couldn’t be a better opposition than Leeds United.
Bielsa’s men have had a good start to the season winning two of the three games and in fact, came close to winning against Defending PL champions in GW1 but have also conceded seven goals so far(Third most in the league), 50 shots(Third worst in the league), 33 shots inside the box(second-most in the league) and have also given away eight big chances in just three games.
Sterling had a decent game against Leicester as well, three shots on goal, one on target, and one inside the box. Intrestingly over the last season sterling has always done well away from home.
Sterling Home vs Away from the 2019/20 FPL season: Goals: 6 vs 14 xG: 4.82 vs 13.7 BC: 7 vs 26 SiB: 33 vs 50 A: 4 vs 2 xA: 3.98 vs 5.03 BCC: 4 vs 6
Sterling also recorded 9 double-digit hauls last season and could get the first of his against Leeds in FPL GW4.
Apart from teammate KDB who’s owned by 43.3% managers, Mahrez £8.4 Mil TSB: 3.8% and Foden £6.6 Mil, TSB:8.3% still enjoy very less ownership and could be great differential options for FPL GW4.
Midweek Carabao Cup Update: Sterling scored a brace and played the full 90 as city defeated Burnley 3-0

4. Che Adams vs West Brom(H) £5.9 Mil TSB: 2.9%
Bit of a surprise pick but we’re backing Che Adams once again. He has been a frustrating FPL asset over the opening three weeks having got only one assist with teammate and fellow forward Danny Ings taking the spotlight scoring three goals. Adams however put on a much-improved performance against Burnley in GW3 providing the assist for the only goal of the game scored by Ings, of course.
Che has all the stats to his backing but has yet been unable to find the back of the net in the opening three weeks. Adams had three big chances, registered 6 shots, 6 Inside the box, three on target, and registered an xG of 1.44, again all the stats without scoring a goal. He’s also got the knack of passing it Ings which increases his assist potential. Adams has made 4 key passes, Only Kane and Firmino have more amongst forwards and created one big chance so far with an xA of 0.73.
He’s up against a Westbrom side who conceded 11 goals(Highest), 52 shots(Highest), 34 Shots inside the box(Highest), 24 SoT(Highest), and 11 Big Chances conceded (Highest) over the opening three weeks. Adams and Ings could be in for big hauls against WBA in FPL GW4, surely!
Adams could possibly end his search for a goal against West Brom. If you’re a Che Adams owner hold him for another week.

5. Matheus Pereira vs Southampton(A), £6.0 Mil TSB: 3.4%
Arguably the best player in the championship last season, Matheus Pereira has set the ball rolling in Premier League as well. The WBA attacker has registered a goal and two assists for WBA in the opening three weeks and is up against Southampton in GW4. Although WBA are conceding a lot of goals, they’re also scoring quite a few and Pereira is in the middle of everything as he’s the talisman of the team. He’s on set piece, corners, and anchors the attack which is amazing from an FPL perspective for us managers.
He has had four shots on goals, two inside the box, one on target and has made four key passes so far this season. West Brom do not face a Top six team or have FDR of more than three up until GW9 which makes him a really good differential not only for FPL GW4 but also over the period of the next five games.

Other Differential picks to watch out for in FPL GW4
Alexander Lacazette vs Sheffield United (H), £8.5 Mil TSB: 5.4%, Lacazette has scored three goals in three games so far and has registered an NP xG of 2.32, second highest amongst forwards only behind the man in form DCL. He has also had six shots, five on target, and five big chances (Highest so far this season without penalties) in the first three games. He is up against a Sheffield United who are without a win or CS until now this season. Lacazette didn’t start in the mid-week carabao cup fixture vs Arsenal and is therefore expected to retain his place as well.
Couple of other differential options to consider would include Chris Wood, Bowen, Semedo and Diangana for FPL GW4.
