FPL GW37+ Differential Picks to consider ahead of GW37+ Deadline | ALLABOUTFPL

It’s now or never time in FPL right now especially in mini-leagues. It’s the time to make audacious moves to have a crack at the top if you are very far behind. Players with less ownership(TSB) are the key to make this progress. In this blog we will look out for differential picks for FPL GW37+.

How did our differential picks fare in FPL GW36+?

3/3 picks in Giroud, Silva, and Jesus returned with points with Silva(our top pick getting the big haul). Only the ultra-differential pick in Armstrong didn’t return as he was surprisingly rested.

FPL GW37+ Differentials- Forwards

Chris Wood(6.1) vs Norwich, TSB: 1.2%, Fixtures: Norwich, Brighton

Wood FPL GW37+
Wood is all set for a big haul vs Norwich

Chris Wood is back to full fitness after getting successive starts against Liverpool and Wolves in the last 2 games. Wood looks to the most talked prospect in FPL Twitter but he is just owned by 1.2% and is still a amazing differential option. He is certainly a set-piece threat and looks to be the assured penalty taker after scoring a late penalty vs Wolves last week.

Wood in numbers:

  • xG of 1.23 and xG90 of 0.71 over the last 2 GWs.
  • 5 goals in 4 games vs Norwich overall(including championship) and 2 goals(13 points) in the reverse fixture in GW6.
  • Third highest xG(1.23) in GW36+ only behind Giroud(who played Norwich) and Kane.

Harry Kane(10.9) vs Leicester, TSB: 10.9%

Harry Kane FPL GW37+
Is Harry Kane going to rack up goals aplenty again?

Harry Kane has certainly got the eye back of FPL managers with two goals and 12 points against Newcastle in GW36+. Leicester had looked good defensively vs Sheffield with Soyuncu. But Kane is always a trusted differential pick who you can rely upon especially due to his end of the season form. He always a loves a goal against Leicester and his good record against them speaks for itself.

Phil Foden(5.5) vs Watford, TSB: 6.3%

Foden FPL GW37+
Foden still could be a good differential

The gamble of Phil Foden in GW36+ certainly didn’t pay off. But that is not the end of the road for him. He played full 90 mins against Bournemouth which means he will be rested for FA Cup game, then start again vs Watford. Foden averages 8.25 points/per game while starting compared to 5.1 points/game overall since restart.

Foden in numbers:

  • Has registered four goals and an assist in seven appearances since the season restart, registering 41 points averaging more than 5 PPG
  • He has returned double-digit hauls in two games out of the four home games he has started since the season restart, 16 points vs Burnley, 12 vs Liverpool
  • 13 shots on goal and 6 key passes in the last seven games since the restart, an indicator that goals + assists will also increase.

Stuart Armstrong(5.2) vs Bournemouth, TSB: 1.0%

Armstrong FPL GW37+
Armstrong could be a great uber differential

We still back our last week’s ultra-differential pick to fire this week. He was rested against Brighton last week and would be raring to go.

The numbers- Armstrong:

  • 2 goals, 3 assists, 35 points since restart averaging 5.83 points/game excluding Brighton game.
  • Saints have lost just one game since restart after playing United, City, Arsenal, Everton in the process.
  • Bournemouth have only one cleansheet in last 19 games and have conceded 15 goals since restart(second worst).

Redmond(6.2) is also another good option from Saints but he doesn’t attack much higher compared to Armstrong. Armstrong effectively plays as second-striker to Ings in most of the plays.

FPL GW37+ Defenders:

James Tarkowski(5.4) vs Norwich, TSB: 6.4%

James Tarkowski FPL GW37+
Big man James to get us big points in GW37+

Tarkowski seems to a no-brainer option for FPL GW37+ if you want to transfer in a defender or on free hit. Norwich have not conceded the most goals(16) since restart, but are also vulnerable to set pieces. Tarkowski who has played every minute of the season so far is their target man in set pieces. Tarkwoski scored the highest points in GW12(12 points) and GW13(17 points) and maybe he is due for a similar big haul against Norwich. Burnley would look to extend their unbeaten run to 7 games and end the season on a high.

Tarkowski- Stat attack

  • Norwich have conceded the most goals from set-pieces this season(16)
  • Tarkowski- 5th highest xG among defenders since the restart, 6th highest scoring defender in FPL.
  • Goal and an assist to his name since the restart, Burnley are unbeaten in last 6 games.

Matt Doherty(6.5) vs Crystal Palace, TSB: 13.2%

Man like Matt Doherty

Doherty came on as a substitute last week against Burnley but still managed to return as the highest scoring Wolves defender. He will be fresh and eager to play against Palace who will be without Van Aanholt(5.6) who dislocated his shoulder. Doherty would look to make most of this opportunity and exploit the inexperienced Riedewald(likely replacement).

Doherty- Key stats:

  • 4 goals, 7 assists this season- Same as last season tally and wold look to improve
  • Up against Palace who has lost seven in a row
  • Palace has scored only goals in only 1 of their last 6 games.
