It’s been a long time since we did a Big Game Preview. We are back with it with spurs vs man city review. We’ve almost reached the final third of the season, with both Spurs and Man City not performing to their standards this season. At the moment they have no direction, and not much to look forward to as the season approaches its final stages. Familiar foes lock horns once again, with Jose facing Pep at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this game week. Let us look into forward to how the teams are set up for the game.
When: Februay 2nd 2020
Where: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Match Referee: Mike Dean
Team Preview: Spurs
Table Position: 6th

Searching for Consistency…Spurs are in a league of their own. They blow hot one Game and then blow cold the next game. They managed to get over the line last time around against Norwich. Having lost their star striker Harry Kane to an injury they are short of firepower on the main forward’s role. The services of their new signing Steven Bergwijn would be of great help to this Spurs side. Some crazy transfer rumors are going on, on the final day with Spurs in contention to sign Oliver Giroud from Chelsea and Gareth Bale from Real Madrid. They would prove to be much needed signings if they do indeed end up at the Spurs stadium.
Having spent so much to build the new stadium last year, Spurs need to produce results in order to keep pace with the top 4. They are 6 points off the top 4 which was a long way off when Jose took charge. He’s got them rolling again but consistency is what they will be looking for especially with these new signings if they do happen on deadline’s day.
Team News: Harry Kane is still the only absentee in the team.
Team Preview: Man City
Table Position: 2nd

Striving for age-old precision…Manchester City have been way under the levels that they would like to be have been. After Liverpool played their game in hand against West Ham, Man City are 19 points behind the leaders, the most Guardiola has ever been behind as a manager. They are not touching heights that they set last season or the season before that. Pep said that it was difficult to find why they dropped away. Last week they edged out the Blades narrowly, with Aguero putting the ball into the net. In spite of having lost to United mid-week, they reached the final of the Carabao Cup once again for the 3rd consecutive time where they will face Aston Villa for the Cup. Pep knows fully well that their target would be to finish 2nd or better which seems impossible now considering the lead that Liverpool have now. They would rather put their focus on the Champions League which they’ve been longing to win. With Leicester on their tails, nothing but racking up wins will do them any good.
Team News: Having recently made a comeback Aymeric Laporte was once again not involved midweek with rumors of an injury again. He remains the only one missing. The long absentee Leroy Sane was back in training as well.

This game has always produced some entertainment over the past couple of seasons especially since last year since Spurs knocked out City in the quarters of the Champions League. The return leg was a feast as well and with Jose at the helm now, fireworks can be expected. Old foes meet again and it promises to be a cracker.
