After making a fantastic start to their Premier League campaign, Sheffield United have won just one out of their last 6 games. In the process, they’ve lost 3 and drawn 2 of those 6 matches. However, those defeats have come against Liverpool and ManCity(twice). The Blades now head in to a set of winnable fixtures for the next 6 Gameweeks and hence why we should try to hone in on their assets.
In this blog, we will pick out the three of the possible options for FPL managers from Sheffield United.
Fixtures: CRY(A), BOU(H), BHA(H), AVL(A), NOR(H), NEW(A)
1.Dean Henderson, TSB:5.8%, Price:5.0
Sheffield United ‘s shot stopper has excelled in front of goal this season, he has started all but one of their games and has kept 8 clean sheets in the process. Henderson has notched 101 points in FPL this season which is more than any other goalkeeper. Incidentally, the Englishman also registered clean sheets against three of the next six opponents in the reverse fixtures. The keeper has a save percentage of 74.32 which is the highest for goalkeepers who have made a minimum of 50 saves this season.
2.John Fleck, TSB:4.9%, Price:5.0
If you ask any Sheffield United fan, they’ll probably tell you that John Fleck is by far their best player in the squad. The Scottish international has recorded 5 goals and 2 assists so far this season. The midfielder is also the joint top scorer for Chris Wilder’s men in the league along with Mousset.
Fleck has 376 points in the BPS, which is up there with the likes of Salah (379) and Sterling (377). This makes him a very valuable asset as he’s very likely to get maximum bonus points if he makes a contribution in the game. The Scot has secured maximum bonus points on 4 separate occasions this season, which is more than any other Sheffield United player.
3.Enda Stevens, TSB:2.3%, Price:5.1
Picking a defender from Sheffield United will be the hardest task for FPL managers. Now, if you have been having John Lundstram in your side for a long time, we suggest you stick to him. However, if you are going to pick one now, then you should probably look to pick other options apart from Lundstram, just to give yourself the edge in your leagues and against your FPL cup opponent too.
One of the alternatives we’d suggest is Enda Stevens. Interestingly, Stevens has created more big chances(8) than any other Sheffield United player. The defender also has the joint highest points (435) with Dean Henderson in BPS for player from the Blades. The Irishman has also made more tackles than any of his compatriots this season. He has an xA of 4.22 which is +2.22 more than his tally this season. If you’re looking for that differential option from Sheffield United, then don’t look beyond Enda Stevens.
