FPL GW 22 Captain picks

After a 10 day break, FPL is finally back much to the cheers of FPL managers. With a double game week scheduled in GW 24, the need to pick up managers simply cannot afford to lose points in the next few weeks making FPL GW 22 a very important GW. GW 22 FPL Captain Picks

1. Jamie Vardy vs Southampton (H) TSB:49.1%

Jamie Vardy left a lot of managers disappointed in the last two game weeks when he did not feature in the Leicester squad with over 200k managers transferring him out and bringing his price down by 0.1 million. Leicester face a resurgent Southampton team but they don’t seem to be a threat defensively to Leicester and this break will hopefully help Vardy to return a lot of points and guide his team to a comfortable victory.

2. Sergio Aguero vs Aston Villa (A) TSB:11.1%

Man City dominated a weak Manchester United squad without a natural striker and this means that Aguero is being rested for the arguable more important premier league fixtures and with a lot of people returning to the city squad, they’ll look to seize the opportunity against a Villa team that is almost certain of relegation with injuries to Tom Heaton and the likes. Kevin De Bruyne is also a good shout out for captain.

3. Sadio Mane vs Tottenham Hotspurs (A) TSB:39.6%

Liverpool take on Tottenham and though at first glance it might seem risky to choose a Liverpool asset as captain against Spurs, it might pay off well. Spurs have been very inconsistent in the back and further set back with Moussa Sissoko having an MCL tear which rules him out for 6 months. The midfield pivot of Winks and Dier will be overrun by Liverpool and Sadio Mane has been in excellent form.

He takes on the relatively weaker right-hand side of Spurs with Aurier not being defensively good and Mane with Robertson can wreak Havoc. This combination will be a reason why Mane can be a better choice over Salah

4. Troy Deeney vs Bournemouth (A) TSB:1.0%

Watford take on Bournemouth who have been very inconsistent the whole season and have been defensively exposed on many occasions. A resurgent Watford side with Nigel Pearson at the helm have taken 10 points out of a possible 12 and with Troy Deeney and Gerard Deulofeu in good form, they can look to capitalise away to Bournemouth. Deeney has scored 3 goals in the last 5 games and will be determined to add more to his tally

5. Raul Jimenez vs Newcastle United (H) TSB:18.7%

Wolves are 7^th in the league and on par with Spurs on points and will be looking to capitalize on that with Spurs facing Liverpool next. Wolves play Newcastle next and Steve Bruce’s men haven’t been in the best of form recently. Wolves have looked except for the defeat to Watford but they will look to bounce back and will rely on their Mexican Talisman in Jimenez. He has scored 8 and assisted 6 for Wolves in the league and will be the man to look out for this week.
