This season have given us a lot of differential options and we have picked five of the best options who we think might haul big in the coming weeks, so what are you waiting for, check out the top 5 differential picks and get them in your teams and move up in your leagues like a boss.
AARON CONNOLLY:
Every manager in Fantasy premier league has a player who is low budget starter and allows way for big marquee players, one such player is Aaron Connolly.
Being an avid premier league fan my prediction for this year’s relegation spot at the beginning of the season was Brighton and Hove Albion and boy was I wrong. The new manager Graham Potter has proved me wrong with some really good results, playing exciting and attractive football.
Since their new signing Leandro Trossard got injured after their loss to Man city, Graham potter was in search for a young pacey forward who could get them back on track in their upcoming matches and he was gutsy and right to turn towards Aaron Connolly.
Aaron Connolly is 19 years old, Irish and an academy graduate of Brighton who is fast, good with both legs and aggressive every time he is on the pitch. The 19 year old young lad had is breakthrough to the first team after a fine performance against Newcastle united almost scoring an amazing goal, only for it to cleared off the goal line.
Since then Aaron has had 3 starts out of which he has 2 goals and 2 assists, the goals were against a struggling Spurs, scoring with both his left and right foot and was comfortable throughout the game even when pressure was put on by the Spurs players. Aaron is priced at an amazing low price of 4.6m in FPL.
So FPL managers, if you are looking for a cheap priced forward who is also a regular first team player, he might be the best option out there.
ANTHONY MARTIAL:
After having an awesome start to his Manchester United career as a number 9, scoring twice and assisting once in his 3 starts, Anthony Martial(7.6m) faced a setback after suffering a hamstring injury during the shocking loss against Eagles.
Anthony Martial is now back after 2 months on the sidelines, having made his first start against FK Partizan and scoring a decisive penalty to give Manchester United their first away win since their historic win against PSG(no win for 11 away games).
Anthony then made his premier league start in their win against Norwich city, where he arguably should have scored 4 goals but had to settle for one amazing goal instead. He missed 2 big scoring chances and a penalty that was saved. Despite being a definite starter for Manchester United in their upcoming fixtures which do look favourable for them, Martial has been selected by a just 4.8% of FPL managers.
When Martial has started under Solskjaer United have won 77% of their games, scoring an average of 2.3 goals per game, and winning 2.4 points per game, but when the Frenchman has not started the difference is huge, United have won only 28% of games, scored just 1.1 goals per game, and won 1.2 points per game.
Clearly a difference maker in Manchester United’s squad, at a price of 7.6m, could be the one to make the difference in your squad.
BENJAMIN MENDY:
With big six struggling to get a clean sheet, FPL managers are going for some attacking return with the likes Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander Arnold from Liverpool.
One of the overlooked defenders who could prove to be a worthy differential move is Benjamin Mendy. The biggest problem we as FPL managers faced were the uncertainties when it comes to choosing Manchester city players, due Pep Guardiola’s rotation policy.
Since his return Mendy has started 6 matches in all competition and has kept 5 clean sheets. Given both Zinchenko and Angelino injured and ruled out with an unknown return date, it seems like Pep might turn to his star left back Benjamin Mendy priced 5.9m seems to be a bargain with the amount points he might bring as city prepare to face a struggling Southampton who just conceded a whopping 9 goals against Leicester city.
Benjamin Mendy has been selected by just 1.4% of FPL managers who could very well prove be the differential defender of the week.
RAUL JIMENEZ:
A visit to the unsettled Arsenal gives the Wolverhampton Wanderer’s striker a good chance to build up his form for the upcoming season.
After being a huge success last season for the Wolves scoring 13 goals and providing 10 assists, the Mexican striker has had difficult start to 2019/2020 season. After completing what was a remarkable season for which saw them finish in 7th place, Wolves have been juggling a lot with Europa league, Premier league and cup games, hence finding it hard unlike last season.
The Mexican striker struggled to score in his first 7 premier league games managing just 2 goals ,has now scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists in. his last 4 games all competition.
The striker has had 21 shots as a striker this season and with 18 of them coming in the box, proving to be a threat in terms of scoring and creating.
Since August 2018 wolves have managed to win 5 games, draw 5 games and have lost 5 out of their 15 visits against top 6 side having 3rd best record against a top 6 side behind Liverpool and Manchester City.
Selected by 10.7% of FPL managers and priced and priced at 7.2m, Raul Jimenez could prove to be the one of the best differential picks of the week.
NEAL MAUPAY:
One of the players tipped to be the differential low budget move for Gameweek11 of Fantasy premier league is none other than Neal Maupay (6.0m).
The New signing from the Championship side Brentford joined this summer after his impressive season for Brentford where he scored 25 goals and provided 8 assists, having 2.6 shots per game and missing 19 big chances throughout the season. He has carried that impressive form this season as he has had 29 shots throughout the premier league just 4 behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
The Brighton and Hove Albion striker has scored 4 goals this season and looks set to continue his impressive scoring form as they prepare to face a struggling Norwich City. Norwich city travel to the Amex stadium having 0 wins in their last 5 games since their shocking win against Manchester City.
Brighton have lost just once in their last 5 home games and will turn to their star striker Neal Maupay continue their impressive home record. Selected by just 1.5% of FPL managers, Neal Maupay could very well be the head turner of the week
