Game week 6 proved to be the most exciting gameweek of the season so far with loads of goals, upsets and comebacks which means loads of FPL points🔥🔥🔥 , So without much further delay let’s look into the five talking points from the weekend, weekend in numbers, BPS tracker and last but not the least the ALLABOUTFPL differential 11 of the week.
5 talking points form the Weekend:
- Goals galore at EIGHTIHAD
- Maddison Masterclass against Spurs
- Man Utd Hammered
- Gunners Gun Down Aston Villa
- Bournemouth impress away from home
1.Goals galore at EIGHTIHAD:
Considering watford’s poor away record the writing was around the corner, Man city under Pep are brutal and that was evident of a glorious saturday afternoon at the Etihad were Man city celebrated 125 years of formation. David silva scored in the opening minute of the game thanks to a brilliant assist from KDB, who went on to score a goal and assist one more during the course of the match With Bernardo silva scoring a hatrick the rest of the man city attack was under full flow with Mahrez and aguero too chipping in with a goal and assist each to their name.
It’s tough to criticize a player especially on a glorious day when your team scores eight goals but sergio aguero started the day with 99 goals and got to the magical 💯mark, but was wasteful and failed to add more from subsequent chances ending the day with just one goal and an assist, not bad but certainly upto the Sergio Aguero level. Ottemendi who was at fault during the away loss at Norwich stepped against Watford scoring one and assisting a goal each also bagging a clean sheet on an afternoon were the city defense was barely tested.
Numbers from the Man city vs Watford game:
- kevin KDB’s stats against Watford are beyond belief 4 shots 3 shots inside the box 8 chances created 2 assists and a stunning goal.
- Deulofeu completed 13 passes against Man City yesterday out of which 8 of the 13 passes were from kick-offs
- Sergio Aguero scored his 100 th goal at the Ethiad in front of the Man city faithful
- Manchester City are the first team in the Premier League era to both score and concede 8 goals in a single game.
2. Maddison Masterclass inspires Leicester city
James Maddison orchestrated the Leicester Attack scoring the winner as leicester staged a memorable comeback at the king power stadium against a woeful Spurs side. The game was full of drama with both clubs had a goal disallowed after VAR intervention with the spurs decision being controversial as son was basically less than a millimetre offside, the funniest part is that aurier went from 15 points to one point in just 5 mins.
Harry kane opened the scoring with a sensational effort to put spurs ahead but ricardo pereira put leicester back in level terms scoring his first goal of the season proving his value at 6 MIL as a premium defender with leicester having some easy fixtures pereira could be good alternative to digne, Maddison was at the center of action throughout the afternoon drawing a lot of fouls and opening up the spurs defense with some delightful passing and eventually scored a worldie from outside the box after going 30 shots on goal without scoring. Cgalar soyancu ut in solid performance the center of the foxes defense and is a cheaper route into the LCFC defense with four out of the next five fixtures having a Fixture Difficulty Rating of 2.
3. Manchester United Hammered:
You are getting sacked in the morning?, we saw Phil Jones mouth that in the camera during the game, after yet another dreadful display by the reds at the London Stadium. The game ended 2-0 with West Ham outplaying the 20 time English Champions in every department, the Red devils side that was fielded by the manager lacked desire, passion and mentality to win the game.
Their performance was exactly like the one year, where they lost 3-1 in a similar fashion. The only positive for the Manchester Side this season has been the consistent displays from the likes of McTominay and Wan-bissaka, who again played their hearts out. On the other hand West-ham under Pelligrini have taken things to the next level, after miraculously escaping relegation during the 2017/2018 season.
Scott McTominay vs WestHam
Passes Completed 44
Final Third Passes 14
Take On’s 3
Interceptions 2
Tackles won 2
The midfield of duo of Rice and Noble shared most of the possession and won the midfield battle all on their own. Declan Rice managed to completed 100% of his passes during the first half of the game. ( A class above)
With Martial, Shaw and Pogba all out due to injuries, it looked like the Man Utd had zero creativity and width to their play. The miss of Luke Shaw has been major for them as his replacement Ashley Young in all fairness a 34 year old ex-winger is not able to with the pressure of attacks and he able to provide the side with the width down flank while they attack. Adding to their woes is the news of Marcus Rashford the only fit recognized striker going out injured during the second half of the match. With the heavy congested fixture list this month it is make or break for Ole and his team of coaches.
4.Gunners GUN down Aston Villa:
The Thing goess skkkkkkkkkkkkrrrrraaaaaaaaaa!!! paah! paaah! paaah! paaah! paah! as the Gunners managed to pull a huge victory against Aston Villa at the Emirates. The game was a typical Premier League game with the underdogs Villa playing their hearts out, giving the neutrals end to end action throughout the 90 minutes. The game started with both the teams creating some good chances with and Villa taking the lead through McGinn who had an amazing match producing numbers that would definitely catch the eyes of many team around Europe.
John McGinn vs. Arsenal:
100% pass accuracy
6 shots
4 shots on target
4/5 take-ons
1 big chance created
1 goal
Arsenal got themselves into even more trouble as Maitland-Niles was sent off in the 41st minute. The sides went into half time with Villa having a goal to the good. But, minor changes during half time saw Arsenal take the game to Aston Villa as they Equalized through Nicolas Pepe’s penalty during the 59th minutes, but the game took another turn when Villa took the lead again through Wesley Moraes. This did the keep the gunners quite as quickly scored two more with the help of Calum Chambers and Aubameyang during the 81st and 84th minute respectively.
Nicolas Pépé vs. Aston Villa:
91% pass accuracy
2/5 shots on target
4 chances created
3/6 take-ons
1 goal
This spirited performance is expected to be the catalyst for the North London side as the gear up to face Man Utd at the Old Trafford during the next gameweek.
5.Bourenmouth Impress Away From Home:
The Cherries displayed high levels of confidence and professionalism as they dispatched the Saints 3-1 at their own backyard. The goals came from, Callum Wilson, Ake and the highly appreciated loan signing Harry Wilson. Eddie Howe’s men continue their bright start to the campaign having secured 10 points which see them comfortably sit at sixth over the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea. Like all the season, Eddie Howe has got the Cherries playing the beautiful and high paced brand of football which has helped them score 11 goals.
Bournemouth way of play might cause them to concede a few more then they score but we can say with full confidence that the things are going great at Dean Court.
Many pundits and analyst feel that them keeping Ake will play a major role and be the deciding factor that will push them into the upper half of the table come the end of the season.
On the other hand the saints are still having dry and unpredictable period, where the the form of players is most of the time ON and OFF, they are now a loss away from the drop zone. Ward-Prowse the goal scorer who dispatched the penalty during the game has been one of the few positives this season. His form and fitness will play a major role in their hopes and ambitions for the season.
With the fixtures coming in thick and fast during the Christmas period, there is immense pressure on the shoulders of the Austrian Ralph Hasenhüttl to get his team back to winning way.
