It seemed like the 2019-20 season of FPL just started but we are already done with Four GW’s and it’s time for the first international break of the season, now is the time to catch upon on a small break from all the action to tinker and alter the plans for the rest of season, but before that let’s look into an action packed gameweek four which had loads of goals, upsets, VAR drama and of course fewer clean sheets once again.
FIVE TALKING POINTS FROM GW4:
- Silent assassin Sergio
- North London Derby Never Disappoints
- Tammy Time
- Everton Up and Running
- JAMIE VARDY IS HAVING A PARTY
1.Silent Assassin Sergio:
Pep Guardiola has revolutionized the Manchester City team, the are one of the most successful and most possession based attacking team in history. During his tenure as manager, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and the Silva’s have gone up a level in terms of performance and attacking threat. But, not all of them have noticed the improvement the Argentine Center Forward has made in the last three years, he has managed to score 100+ goals under the Spaniard.
Guardiola even told “Sergio scored goals when he was in Argentina at 16 years old and he will die scoring goals”.
He is any manager’s dream, what can we say the guy was born to put the ball in the back of the net.
Even after being benched on the opening day of the new season, Kun has made a flawless start to the season. Manchester City’s number 10 has scored 4 goals already including the brace against Brighton. Sergio has a shot conversion rate 100%, can you believe it? the guy has SCORED 4 GOALS FROM 4 SHOTS.
Priced at 12.1 million the center forward has already secured 40 points this season and has no plans of stopping, he has an ICT index of 49.1 and threat value of 194.0. The only problem with Kun is that, he never plays all the games for the blue side of Manchester because of the UN-BE-LI-VA-BLE squad depth. So, there is no point of raging when you see Jesus start instead of him.
2.North London Derby Never Disappoints :
The first of two north London derby has come to an end and the game was nothing less than EPIC!. With Tottenham having a tricky start to the season, the Gunners were considered the favorites for the fixture. But, to everyone’s surprise, Spurs led the gunners 2-0 during the first half of the game with goals from Eriksen and the ever scoring Harry Kane
Harry Kane VS Arsenal
- 10 games played
- 10 goals scored
- 44 shots
- 52.3% shot accuracy
- 1 assist
But, the story was totally different after Lacazette steered one in for the red side just before half time, after which Aubameyang equalized. Aubameyang in NLD
Aubameyang has being directly involved in 4 goals in his last three NLD appearances scoring 3 and creating 1
Arsenal’s best player on the pitch was the 19 year old Mattéo Guendouzi who after the impressive start to the season has earned his first international cap for the world champions France.
Mattéo Guendouzi VS Spurs
83% pass accuracy
31 forward passes
7 ball recoveries
3 tackles won
2 interceptions
1 assist
He played his heart out that night, it can be said that the young midfielder has just started and will keep turn a few heads as he grows.
From the times of Ian Wright, Tim Sherwood the drama around this English fixture never ends.
Trivia Time:
Out of all the attacking talent over the years at Arsenal their leading goal scorer is Robert pires with 7 goals
Tottenham have dropped points against Arsenal in the NLD 42 times from winning positions.
Only three players have managed to score a hattrick in the North London Derby, them being Terry Dyson for Spurs and Ted Drake and Alan Sunderland for Arsenal
3. Jamie Vardy is having a party:
The fairy tale continues, as the England International is off the mark for yet another season. The record holder of most consecutive goals scored is ageing like fine wine. Priced at 8.9 million, the Leicester forward promises one thing that is goals and with Maddison and Perez behind him you can expect Fireworks.
3 goal in 4 games is considerably a slow start, but the give him one good chance and he will bury it, that has always been his style. Personally, I would suggest FPL Managers to pick him after game-week 8, after which Leicester have very favorable run into Christmas.
Jamie has scored 75 goals including his golden boot winning of 2015/2016, not a bad return considering all the main players of the tittle winning team have moved away. With the young creative potential behind him and favorable fixture vardy might be your differential pick.
4.Tammy Time:
Four goals in two games, Tammy has certainly put the penalty miss against liverpool in the UEFA super cup behind him and has quickly established himself as the first choice striker at chelsea, Tammy in fact became the first englishman to score at least two goals in consecutive premier league appearances for chelsea since Frank Lampard in 2010
The 4-2-3-1 formation that chelsea play enables Tammy to be the focal point of the chelsea attack with fellow academy gem mason mount playing just behind him. Priced at £7.2 million Abraham looks like a must have with some interesting Chelsea fixtures on the horizon. After games against Wolves and Liverpool in GWs 5 and 6 respectively Chelsea face Brighton, Southampton, Newcastle and Burnley in their next 4 GWs
STATS CORNER:
Abraham has featured in all of Chelsea’s games so far this season scoring 4 goals and racking up 28 points. From 1.64 x goals Abraham has scored an impressive 4 goals, also converting 2/3 big chances along with creating 6 chances. Currently Abraham has a goal every 39.8 minutes is magnificent with a goal conversion rate of 57.1% and a shot accuracy of 71.4%. These underlying stats indicate that Abraham is one to look at over the course of the season if not have because he might make you regret it
5. Everton up and Running:
With iwobi, Richarlison and kean marco silva might have found the answer to attacking threat that hindered their progress last season and the opening two game weeks as well, Everton have looked solid in defense too having conceded only 20 shots inside the box only Man city have conceded(18) less which is quite impressive after they lost idrissa gueye in the summer transfer window to PSG.
Iwobi and richarlison put in a great performance against a solid wolves defense scoring three goals between them, everton have created loads of chances as well and with the likes of gylfi sigurdsson and digne setting up the attack free, iwobi could well become the differential this season.
IWOBI VS WOLVES IN NUMBERS:
- 76 MINS played
- 1 GOAL scored
- 0.33 xG
- 1 Big chance created
- 30 BPS and two bonus points
- 1.9 minutes per touch and 2.6 minutes per pass received
With a brilliant set of fixtures between GW5 and GW14, Everton assets including kean, Richarlison, digne and iwobi could be a huge differential to get those green arrows in a wildcard team
WEEKEND IN NUMBERS:
- Crystal Palace reminded us of their defensive strengths, recording a 2nd clean sheet, joint most in the PL with Everton & Man City.
- Sergio aguero was the highest xG over achiever in gw 4 with an positive xG of +1.66, following a brilliant performance against Brighton.

- Dan James had the most touches in the opposition penalty area amongst midfielders (11). Salah and Zaha were second with 10.
- Another relatively low GW for clean sheets. We’ve seen the weekly team total really dry up post GW1,GW1 – 9 GW2 – 2 GW3 – 3 GW4 – 4
- In GW4 Tammy Abraham was the second amongst forwards for xA (0.34) and top for xG (1.19). Had the most big chances of all forwards

Defenders: Trent alexander arnold(100), Digne(89) and mings(88)
Trent became the first defender to hit the 100 BPS club this season having got an assist and registered the first CS of the season against Burnley, Digne produced yet another assist against wolves which increased his BPS scoring to 89. mings continues to impress at the heart of the villa defense having an impressive BPS score of 88 just one off Digne.
Midfielders: KDB(144), Sterling(117) and Salah(98)
Kdb overtook his teammate and the most owned midfielder in fpl, sterling in the BPS scoring after scoring the first goal of the season and setting up one more as well in a game where sterling went silent becoming the only premium asset(above 9.5 mil) to not have any attacking returns, salah too had a off day against burnley but got an assist to close in on the 100 BPS mark.
Forwards:Aguero(176),pukki(159) and Tammy Abraham(112)
Aguero scored two and assiste one more goal which made him the highest scoring player in FPL this season and also the one with the most BPS a whopping 176, pukki failed to score for the first time this season and did not add much to his BPS score this week, meanwhile 4 goals in two games has put tammy in the third place for the most BPS amongst forwards.
