FPL bonus points are awarded based on the set of rules called the Bonus points system(BPS). Bonus points are awarded based on BPS for that particular match. BPS is also cumulatively added for the entire season as well. One having maximum BPS for the whole season will not necessarily have scored maximum bonus and vice versa.
Bonus points scoring system:
Strikers receive the least points for scoring a goal in FPL but inversely get the most BPS points 24 per goal, so if your striker has scored 2 or more goals he will be in all likelihood get 3 bonus points on offer.
Meanwhile, midfielders and defenders get 18 and 12 BPS for scoring a goal, but again if you are thinking scoring goals alone will get you BPS means you are wrong. Let’s look at the player who scored the maximum BPS this season and he is not a striker!
