2025/26 Season FPL Rotational Pairs & Combinations

  • Note 1: Arsenal, City, and Liverpool Defenders are not included in this article as they will are expensive and it will be difficult to bench them due to their price and FPL Points potential despite tough fixtures.
  • Note 2: Green denotes the player to start, Grey Denotes the player to bench
  • Note 3: We have only included Defenders at 5.0 or less in the article. It is difficult to bench Defenders more than that price.
  • Note 4- Injury Updates: In the Williams/Aina position mentioned in the article, Aina has an injury concern. Williams is the preferred option as he has better attack threat as well as better CBIT numbers. In the Udogie/Van De Ven position, Udogie is injured right now and Van De Ven is the better pick until we hear further updates from Frank.
  • Note 5- Transfer Updates: Forest are linked with Leif Davis(LB), so Neco Williams might not be nailed. Williams can also play as a RB, which is where Aina operates. All three could be avoids if the deal is completed, and it might be safer to upgrade to Murillo/Milenkovic. Have an eye on the transfer news.

FPL Rotational Pairs & Combinations- Two Way Rotation

Play 1 Defender and Bench 1 Defender

Spurs and Crystal Palace (Till GW10):

Richards is a DEFCON Monster and is one of best among 4.5 Defenders with a CBIT/90 of 9.07.

✅Fixtures against all 3 Promoted sides in first 7 GWs
✅5/7 Home Fixtures in the first 7 GWs

Everton and Crystal Palace (Till GW6):

  • Mykolenko £5.0
  • Guehi/Richards £4.5

Everton and Palace were both good defensive sides last season, as they got 12 and 11 clean sheets last season, ranking in the Top 7 for clean sheets. Mykolenko(£5.0) is the budget nailed option from Everton while Tarkowski is £5.5 due to his high Defensive Contribution potential. From Palace, Richards and Guehi(if he stays) are the Budget Picks at £4.5 million. Munoz, with his attacking threat, is a Premium Defender at £5.5. They rotate well till GW6- An option to consider if you are planning an early Wildcard.

If you rotate Everton and Crystal Palace Defenders correctly till GW6 as per the rotation mentioned above, you will have-

✅0/6 games against Last season’s Top 6 Teams
✅1/6 games against Last season’s 7th-10th placed teams
✅5/6 games against Last season’s 11-17th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.

Spurs and Wolves (Till GW9):

  • Udogie/Van De Ven £4.5
  • Agbadou £4.5

Spurs did not have a good season defensively last season due to many injuries and the tactics of Ange. But now with Thomas Frank at the helm and Spurs assets likely to be priced cheaper after the poor season, they could well be in the mix. While Pedro Porro(£5.5) offers the best attack threat, Micky Van De Ven and Udogie are value picks and starters at £4.5 million also have good Defensive Contribution Points potential. At Wolves, Toti and Agbadou(Both £4.5) are the Budget Defenders to watch out for. This Spurs and Wolves rotation will give you 4 out of the first 9 games against promoted sides.

Key Stat: Agbadou is also really good for Defensive Contribution Points as he averaged 9.18 CBIT/90 last season.

If you rotate Spurs and Wolves Defenders correctly till GW9 as per the rotation mentioned above, you will have:

✅0/9 games against Last season’s Top 6 Teams
✅1/9 games against Last season’s 7th-10th placed teams
✅8/9 games against Last season’s 11th to 17th-placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.

Spurs and Burnley (Till GW9):

  • Udogie / Van De Ven £4.5
  • Esteve £4.0

This is an alternative to the previous rotation if you are short of budget. Esteve is a starting and nailed £4.0 FPL Defenders(Full Read: Best £4.0 Million FPL Defenders for the 2025/26 FPL Season)

If you rotate Spurs and Burnley Defenders correctly till GW9 as per the rotation mentioned above, you will have-

✅0/9 games against Last season’s Top 6 Teams
✅1/9 games against Last season’s 7th-10th placed teams
✅8/9 games against Last season’s 11-17th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.

West Ham and Aston Villa £4.5 Defender Rotation:

West Ham and Villa rotate well till GW9 completely avoiding last season’s Top 6 Teams. It’s a very good budget rotation with just 9.0 million spent. Both are nailed picks as well. If you want to go for a more aggressive option, Diouf is the pick.

If you rotate Konsa and Wan Bissaka correctly till GW9 as per the rotation mentioned above, you will have-

✅0/9 games against Last season’s Top 6 Teams
✅2/9 games against Last season’s 7th-10th placed teams
✅7/9 games against Last season’s 11-17th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.

Everton and Wolves (Till GW10):

  • Mykolenko 5.0
  • Agbadou/Toti 4.5

Everton and Wolves offer one of the most reliable rotations until GW10, as you get 5 out of the 10 fixtures against newly promoted sides. As there are Budget Defenders from these teams at £4.5/£5.0 million, this could be an excellent rotation and is one of our personal favorites.

If you rotate Everton and Wolves Defenders correctly till GW10 as per the rotation mentioned above, you will have-

✅1/10 games against Last season’s Top 6 Teams
✅1/10 games against Last season’s 7th-10th placed teams
✅8/10 games against Last season’s 11-17th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.

Note: Mykolenko is an injury concern and was subbed off in just 12 minutes in the final pre-season game. Have an eye on the injury news.

Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa (Till GW12):

  • Konsa £4.5
  • Williams/Aina £5.0

This will be a slightly expensive rotation with both Villa and Forest having a good previous season. But it is worth the money as you completely avoid Last Season’s Top 8 Teams and get 10/12 games vs Last season’s 11-17th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides. Milenkovic and Murilo(Both £5.5) are the Premiums considering their attacking threat and defense bonus points, while the likes of Neco Williams and Aina(Both £5.0) offer value. Konsa(£4.5) was the safer Villa Defender to pick last season, and expect the same to continue.

If you rotate Forest and Aston Villa Defenders correctly till GW12 as per the rotation mentioned above, you will have-

✅0/12 games against Last season’s Top 6 Teams
✅2/12 games against Last season’s 7th-10th placed teams
✅10/12 games against Last season’s 11-17th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.

Nottingham Forest and Fulham (Till GW6):

FPL Rotational Pairs & Combinations - Nottingham Forest and Fulham (Till GW6)

  • Williams/ Aina £5.0
  • Andersen £4.5

Forest and Fulham Defensive Rotation is an option to consider if you are looking for something on the shorter run. Andersen is good for DEFCON points as well as he averaged 9.56 CBIT/90 last season. Williams is also not far as he averages 8.72 CBIT/90.

If you rotate Forest and Fulham Defenders correctly till GW6 as per the rotation mentioned above, you will have-

✅0/6 games against Last season’s Top 6 Teams
✅1/6 games against Last season’s 7th-10th placed teams
✅5/6 games against Last season’s 11-17th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.

Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth (Till GW18):

FPL Rotational Pairs & Combinations - Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth (Till GW18)

  • Williams/Aina £5.0
  • Truffert / Senesi £4.5

If you are looking for a long-term rotation option and planning on a late first Wildcard, this is the one to consider. This is the Set and Forget strategy. This combination completely avoids Last Season’s Top 6 Teams for the entirety of the first half of the season. Even though Bournemouth’s defense is weakened by the departures of Kerkez, Hujsen, Zabarnyi and Kepa, there are good options like Marcos Senesi and expect Iraola to make new defensive signings as well.

If you rotate Forest and Bournemouth Defenders correctly till GW18 as per the rotation mentioned above, you will have-

✅0/18 games against Last season’s Top 6 Teams
✅4/18 games against Last season’s 7th-10th placed teams
✅14/18 games against Last season’s 11-17th placed teams and Newly Promoted sides.

Best Rotating £4.5 FPL Million Goal Keepers:

Short-Term/ Early Wildcard: (Till GW8)

  • Petrovic- Bournemouth
  • Kelleher- Brentford

If you rotate them correctly till GW8, you will have:

✅0/8 games vs Last season Top 6
✅2/8 games vs Last Season 7th-10th placed Teams
✅6/8 games vs Last Season 11th-17th placed Teams & Promoted Teams

Here is how the rotation will look like:

Long-Term/Late Wildcard(Till GW13):

  • Petrovic- Bournemouth
  • Areola/Hermansen- West Ham

If you rotate them correctly till GW13, you will have:

✅1/13 games vs Last season Top 6
✅0/13 games vs Last Season 7th-10th placed Teams
✅12/13 games vs Last Season 11th-17th placed Teams & Promoted Teams

Here is how the rotation will look like:

Note: West Ham have signed Hermansen as their new Goal Keeper who will be competing with Areola to be first choice. At this it looks like Hermansen will be first choice with Areola in poor form, but watchout for Press Conference updates to get the confirmation.

Sanchez(5.0) and Petrovic(4.5)

If you can afford a more money into Goal Keepers, Sanchez and Petrovic rotate really well with 8/12 home fixtures and Brighton the only Top Half side from last season. (Source: Best GKs at every Price Point)

Every day, we will make an assessment of their level and see how far we can push them through the training sessions. Lift the intensity, the contact. If they react well, they can then join the squad. If they don’t react well, we wait one day, two days, and assess again. So we will see for next week.

FPL Ultimate Rotation Combination(Likely Personal Strategy)

🔁🔥Ultimate FPL Defenders + Budget Mid(Anderson) Rotation:

I am probably locked with these 6 players(5 Defenders all with good CBIT & Clean Sheet potential+ 5th mid)

🔒Van Dijk / Frimpong
🔒Tarkowski
🔒Murilo
🔒Lacroix/Richards
🔒Van De Ven
🔒Anderson

From these 6 players- Play 4, Bench 2 every week.

Formation will be 4-4-2(If Anderson on bench) or 3-5-2(If Anderson starts) every week based on this rotation. The rotation will give me:

✅2/24 Fixtures vs Last Season Top 6 Teams + Manchester United + Spurs
✅4/24 Fixtures vs Last Season 7th-10th Placed Teams
✅18/24 Fixtures vs Promoted Sides + Last Season 11th-17th Placed Teams

This is how the rotation will be:

🔴Van Dijk vs BOU(H)

🔵Tarkowski vs LEE(A)
🌳Murilo vs BRE(H)

GW2 Fixtures:

🔴Van Dijk vs NEW(A)
