How else can you explain 20th-placed, already relegated Southampton keeping a clean sheet against Manchester City? A team that hadn’t shut out a bakery all season suddenly turned into peak 2004 Greece. Pep looked confused, FPL managers looked destroyed.

FPL Gameweek 37 Transfer Tips: Players to BUY

Ollie Watkins (£9.0m) – FWD, Aston Villa – 22.7% TSB

Aston Villa’s push for a Top 4 finish has been powered in no small part by Watkins, who has notched 4 goal involvements in his last 5 matches. With only one home loss all season, Villa Park has become a fortress.

And now they welcome a rotated Spurs side with their minds already drifting toward Bilbao and a Europa League Final. Expect Watkins to take full advantage of a distracted defence. This could be his last statement game of the season — and we’re backing him to deliver.

Jamie Vardy (£5.3m) – FWD, Leicester – 5.5% TSB

You want narrative? You want romance? It doesn’t get any more storybook than this.

The King of Leicester. The giant-slayer. The man who took Leicester from footballing obscurity to Premier League immortality. Jamie Vardy is about to bow out — and he wants to do it in front of his people at the King Power, against already relegated Ipswich.

He’s sitting on 199 goals for the club. One more, and he hits a poetic 200. Leicester are planning a grand farewell, and Vardy’s guaranteed to start. Throw in the fact that Ipswich have one of the worst defences in the league, and this isn’t just about emotion — it’s a genuinely shrewd FPL punt.

FPL Gameweek 37 Transfer Tips: Players to HOLD

Mohamed Salah (£13.6m) – MID, Liverpool – 67.4% TSB

The FPL herd is bailing. But we say: hold your ground.

Yes, Salah has blanked in 3 of his last 4 games, but here’s what most managers miss: during this stretch (GW33–36), Salah ranked 2nd across all players for xGI. His threat hasn’t dropped — the output just hasn’t clicked.

He’s faced Spurs, Chelsea, and Arsenal during this lean run. This week, he gets Brighton, against whom he scored earlier this season. Fun fact: Brighton kept their first clean sheet since GW27 just last week, so they’re far from watertight.

Salah loves proving people wrong. Stay patient.

Kevin De Bruyne (£9.6m) – MID, Man City – 14.4% TSB

The 4th most transferred-out midfielder this week? That’s just disrespectful.

KDB has scored 25 points in his last 3 home matches, is playing his final home game of the season, and City still need points to confirm a Top 4 finish. His minutes should be secure.

This week, he faces Bournemouth, who’ve won just twice and kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 11 games. Translation: fireworks are possible. Don’t be on the wrong side of a vintage KDB haul.

FPL Gameweek 37 Transfer Tips: Players to SELL

Bruno Fernandes (£8.4m) – MID, Man Utd – 15.0% TSB

The second-most transferred out midfielder this week – and rightfully so.

United are fully focused on the Europa League Final, and their league matches are little more than warm-ups now. Bruno’s minutes are under threat, and even when he plays, United’s attack is one of the dullest in the league — only Everton and the relegated clubs have scored fewer goals.

There’s no sentimental value or tactical upside. Bruno is a hard sell this week.

Pedro Porro (£5.2m) – DEF, Spurs – 16.8% TSB

The fact that 16.8% of you still own Pedro Porro is… honestly baffling.

Since GW26, he’s scored a combined 10 points in 11 games. That’s not a typo. That’s just tragic.

Spurs are 17th in the form table. Their defence has more holes than Swiss cheese. Their focus is clearly on the Europa League Final. And now they face a rampaging Villa side that has won 7 of their last 8 games.

Do yourself a favour. Sell. Delete. Block. Move on.
