After the FPL Budget Forwards article, we are back with the FPL Mid Priced Forwards, and this could be perhaps the most sought-after category after the introduction of Def-Cons and the rush to go Big at the Back and a strong Midfield.
There are currently 16 Forwards classified under this Category, and most of them will be Fantasy relevant, with 1 maybe even 2 starting in our squads this season. Identifying the correct ones based on fixtures and form is the key to success. That’s where we are here to help. Read on to find out who the viable options are below.
All stats used in this Article have been taken from the Members Area of Fantasy Football Hub.
This is the 2nd blog in our FPL Forwards series for the 25/26 season. Check out the previous one in case you haven’t already -> Best FPL Budget Forwards (£4.5 – £6.0 Million) | 25/26 FPL Season

FPL Mid Priced Forwards Analysis
We have 9 Players who are priced at 6.5 million. We have some strong options at this price point, but at first, let’s exclude the FPL options that we think are fantasy irrelevant at this stage of the season.
- Gabriel Jesus – Arsenal – Injured with no return date. 3rd choice striker behind Gyokeres and Havertz when he does become fit.
- Nicolas Jackson – Chelsea – Suspended for Gameweek 1 and is rumored with a move away from Chelsea. A non-option until he gets his future sorted.
- Rasmus Hojlund – Manchester United – Although he did get a goal against Bournemouth in the pre-season friendly, his future at the club is not certain, with talks of a move away to Leipzig as part of a deal for United to get Benjamin Sesko. Even if he stays, he is a rotation risk with Zirkzee (considering United do not sign a new striker)
- Darwin Nunez – Liverpool – Linked with a move away from Liverpool, and even if he stays, he would be behind Ekitike and Gakpo for the striker spot, and maybe a certain Alexander Isak (if he goes to Liverpool). Also known for his howlers and misses, more than his goals, even if he stays.
- Richarlison – Spurs – His career has been derailed by injuries and limited game time. Will be the 2nd choice behind Solanke at Spurs, may even move to another club to get more game time. When he is hot, he is an FPL Beast. But most of the time, he is not.

Best FPL Mid Priced Forwards – £6.5 Million
Jorgen Strand Larsen – Wolves

Pros:
- He went under the radar with Cunha shining last season at Wolves. He got 14 Goals and 4 Assists, which was highly impressive. He finished the season strongly with 7 Goals and 2 Assists in the final 9 Games.
- He had good stats with an xG of 10.14 and an xA of 1.00. He got 23 Big Chances and had 34 Shots on Target. He also created 6 Big Chances for his teammates. He should also be the 1st first-choice penalty Taker, if Wolves even get a penalty this season.
- After the bad Gameweek 1 fixture against Man City, Wolves have a great attacking fixture run where they play Everton, Leeds, Spurs, Brighton, Sunderland, and Burnley in their first 10. He would be a great, reliable option that enables us to get premium players elsewhere.
Cons:
- The loss of key players Cunha & Ait Nouri, who created a lot of chances for the team. John Arias is a good replacement, but would need some time to settle into the League.

Liam Delap – Chelsea
Pros:
- Delap had a great season for Ipswich as he got 12 Goals and 2 Assists for the relegated side. He is an all-around player as he scored tap-ins as well as counter-attacking goals from the halfway line. He scored 8 Goals with his right foot and 4 with his left. He is also a good hold-up player.
- He had good stats with an xG of 9.57 and an xA of 1.38. He got 18 Big Chances and had 32 Shots on Target. He also created 3 Big Chances for his teammates. Expect these numbers to improve as he plays for a much better side this season.
- Chelsea have one of the best fixture runs to begin the season, and this should help him settle in quite nicely. Delap also has a great understanding with Cole Palmer from his youth academy days, as he has 8 goal involvements with Cole Palmer, which is the 2nd best in Palmer’s career.
Cons:
- Competition with João Pedro could be a big worry. After Pedro’s performances in the final & semi-final in the Club World Cup, Pedro seems to be the 1st choice striker for Chelsea at the moment.
- Delap’s passing is not the best, and he also has a bit of a tendency to get booked too often. He collected the joint-most yellow cards last season (12) in the League.

Danny Welbeck – Brighton

Pros:
- Welbeck started last season with a bang as he scored 6 Goals in the 1st 9 Gameweeks. After that, he got injured but still ended as Brighton’s top shotmaker with 60 shots last season. He finished with 10 Goals and 5 Assists from only 24 starts.
- Welbeck had an xG of 9.29 and an xA of 1.37. He had 24 Shots on Target and got 16 Big Chances. Brighton have some good fixtures in the 1st 10 Gameweeks such as Wolves, Leeds, Fulham & Spurs.
- With Ferguson and Pedro both sold, Welbeck will now play the Central striker in most games, unless he gets injured. This will also ensure that Welbeck will be the leading man for taking penalty duties.
Cons:
- His injury record and his age could be a problem. Brighton have also added two Greek strikers – Tzimas and Kostoulas, who could eat into Welbeck’s minutes.

Raul Jimenez – Fulham

Pros:
- Jimenez rolled back the years last season with a great season as he scored 12 Goals and got 3 Assists. He will be on penalties yet again this season, and could have less competition for places if Muniz leaves this season.
- Jimenez had an xG of 11.96 and an xA of 2.07. He had 33 Shots on Target and got 23 Big Chances. He also created 6 Big Chances for his teammates.
Cons:
- Fulham have a tough start to the season with games against Brighton, Chelsea, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Arsenal & Newcastle in the 1st 10 Gameweeks.
- Fulham’s lack of transfer activity could be a problem as their team may not be able to replicate their finish from last season.

The only 7 Million Option:
We have only 1 Forward who is priced at 7 million, and he could play a big part in our season.
Evanilson – Bournemouth

Pros:
- Evanilson had a brilliant debut season in the Premier League with 10 Goals and 5 Assists despite only starting 28 Games. He is nailed to start with positional rival Enes Unal still injured, and he plays for one of the most attacking sides under Iraola.
- Evanilson had an xG of 12.58 and an xA of 1.73. He had 32 Shots on Target and got 23 Big Chances. He also created 3 Big Chances for his teammates.
- Evanilson’s 1st game may be tough, but they then embark on a great run of attacking fixtures with Wolves, Spurs, Brighton, Leeds, and Fulham to follow. He could be a set-and-forget forward in your teams who is nailed on to play 80+ minutes in most games.
Cons:
- Unlike some of his other compatriots in this category, Evanilson does not have penalties after missing 1 last season.
- A bit injury-prone, with some minor injuries ruling him out for some Gameweeks in between.

BEST FPL Mid Priced Forwards Options – 7.5 Million
We have 6 Players who are priced at 7.5 million, and most of them would be strong FPL options at various points of the season.
João Pedro – Chelsea

Pros:
- His versatility as he can play as a Left winger, No. 10, or Center Forward. He previously said that he wants to be like Robert Lewandowski so he could begin the season as a Center Forward.
- His start to life at Chelsea has been great with 3 Goals in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final and final, which should earn him a berth in the Chelsea starting 11 at the beginning of the season.
- Chelsea’s brilliant attacking fixtures from Gameweek 1 to 6, where they do not face any of last season’s Top 7 teams.
Cons:
- A wealth of attacking options at Chelsea, such as Delap, Gittens, Jackson, and Neto, who will all eat into his minutes. Forget 90 minutes, if you are going for Pedro.
- Pedro had 10 Goals last season, out of which 5 were penalties. At Chelsea, there’s no chance that he will be on penalties with Palmer’s brilliant record at penalties.
- Pedro has a habit of theatrics and disciplinary issues in the past. This could lead to problems in a Chelsea team, which is much more disciplined than other teams in the League.

Jean Phillipe Mateta – Crystal Palace

Pros:
- Mateta has had 2 brilliant seasons in the League with 16 and 14 Goals. When he is on form, there are very few like him in the League. Playing for a functional team like Palace has its benefits, with creators like Eze, Sarr, and Munoz all supplying great chances to Mateta.
- Mateta had an xG of 13.77 and an xA of 2.28. He had 33 Shots on Target and got 28 Big Chances. He also created 7 Big Chances for his teammates.
- Mateta has been on fire in Pre-season with 4 Goals, 2 Assists so far. Palace have some great fixtures from Gameweek 4, which run all the way till Gameweek 15.
Cons:
- Possibly not on penalties, with Eze favored to take them. Their first 3 fixtures are not good, so perhaps an option after the 1st International Break.

Chris Wood – Nottingham Forest

Pros:
- Last season, Chris Wood had a brilliant season with 20 Goals as he finished as the 2nd highest scoring forward in the game. He will again be the main man for Forest as he will play most of the minutes and be the Penalty taker.
- Wood had an xG of 13.56 and an xA of 1.59. He had 35 Shots on Target and got 28 Big Chances. He also created 4 Big Chances for his teammates.
- Forest have a brilliant start to the season with 4 of the 1st 6 fixtures being Brentford, West Ham, Burnley, and Sunderland. Forest are also the only team that plays 2 promoted teams in their 1st six Gameweeks.
Cons:
- Although he scored a lot of goals last season, he outperformed his xG by almost 6.5 and converted more than 31% of his shots. To replicate this scenario again this season would be a tough act to follow up.
- Forest’s venture into Europe, more games on an ageing body, and competition with Igor Jesus.

Dominic Solanke – Tottenham Hotspur

Pros:
- Solanke had a mixed debut season for Spurs as he only got 9 Goals and 5 Assists in 27 appearances. He should be free of rotation for a much more functional Spurs side. Plus, we all know Forwards under Thomas Frank do quite well (like Toney & Wissa). Add in the fact that Solanke would be on penalties now as Son has confirmed his departure from Spurs.
- Solanke had an xG of 10.87 and an xA of 1.13. He had 26 Shots on Target and got 20 Big Chances. He also created 6 Big Chances for his teammates.
- Spurs have a brilliant fixture run at the start of the season where they face teams like Burnley, West Ham, Wolves, Leeds in the 1st 7 Gameweeks. Solanke could start off with a bang this season.
Cons:
- He is currently nursing an ankle injury and has been troubled with niggling injuries since last season. If he does not get too many minutes during pre-season, other forwards at the same price range could jump ahead of him before the start of the season.

Yoanne Wissa – Brentford

Pros:
- Wissa had a brilliant season with a whopping 18 Goals and 6 Assists. Add to the fact that he did not even take a single Penalty. He is also a Bonus Point Monster as he got 32 Bonus Points, which was the 3rd most among Forwards.
- Wissa had an xG of 18.37 (3rd best among Forwards) and an xA of 2.37 (3rd best among Forwards). He had 43 Shots on Target and got 34 Big Chances. He also created 5 Big Chances for his teammates.
Cons:
- Wissa currently has not featured in any of Brentford’s pre-season games and wants to leave the club. Until his future is sorted, he should be an avoid in our FPL teams.

Kai Havertz – Arsenal

Pros:
- He could be a steal if he keeps starting for Arsenal as a Mid-priced forward. Havertz looks to be having a good pre-season, grabbing a couple of assists, and seems to be ahead of Gyokeres in terms of fitness. Despite only starting 21 Games, Havertz still got 9 Goals and 3 Assists.
- Havertz had an xG of 9.51 and an xA of 1.65. He had 21 Shots on Target and got 23 Big Chances. He also created 3 Big Chances for his teammates.
Cons:
- Could ultimately drop out of the starting 11 when Gyokeres becomes 1st first-choice centre forward for Arsenal. With the Zubimendi signing, even Midfield places could be packed with Rice, Merino, Odegaard, and Havertz all competing for 2 slots.
- A bit injury-prone and tends to pick up niggling injuries throughout the season.
Author(@FPL_Rony’s) FPL Mid Priced Forwards Ranking
Pre-season will also tell us more about all of these picks, and fixtures will ultimately help us to decide who to begin with. But for now, in the Mid Priced Forwards, my Top 3 ranking would be:
- Chris Wood (7.5)
- Dominic Solanke (7.5)
- Evanilson (7)
