FanTeam EPL Fantasy Season Game Draft with Keynotes

Fanteam have just launched their 25/26 EPL Fantasy season game with a 175,000 pounds guaranteed pool(35,000 pounds for the winner). In this article, we look at the rules of the game, points scoring, player pricing, and our current draft with reasoning.

FanTeam EPL Fantasy Season Game

Quick Overview of the game:

• The season-long EPL fanteam game offers £175,000 in guaranteed prizes, with a whopping £35,000 for the winner. Users can enter a maximum of 5 entries with each entry costing 10 pounds
• Like FPL, you need to choose 15 players(11 players each week + 4 subs), managers can choose a maximum of 3 players per club
• Wildcard is the only chip in the game, with one wildcard for each half of the season. Wildcard 1 must be used after the deadline of Gameweek 1 and before the deadline of Gameweek 19
• There are no bonus points in fanteam
• Price changes only happen once a week, and after the gameweek deadline, you get 100% of the profit.

• The captain and vice-captain also work the same way as FPL. A manager’s designated captain scores double, vice captain scores double if the captain doesn’t play.
• Deadline: The fanteam deadline is the kickoff of the first game/s in a particular gameweek. Since the FPL deadline is 90 minutes before kick-off of the first game of the gameweek, you’ll have plenty of time before the Fanteam deadline, and you will also have the playing 11 of the first game/s.
  For example, the GW1 deadline will be 8 PM UK Time on the 15th of August
• Each week, you get one free transfer, just like FPL.
  • The only difference is that the transfers are provisional and take effect only when the gameweek starts. You can revert your changes until each gameweeks deadline. (You can make early transfers without the worry of injury problems)
• You can carry over any number of free transfers, and there is no maximum limit for saved free transfers until a wildcard activation, at which point transfers revert to zero. So you need to use all free transfers before wildcarding so that you don’t waste them.
• Managers get one free transfer per week, and like FPL, additional transfers cost -4 points

Points scoring:

As you can see from the above, the scoring in the FanTeam EPL Season Game is similar to FPL except for a few differences.

Main Points scoring Differences compared to FPL:

• Points for the player if the team is winning(+0.3 pts) or losing(-0.3 pts) while the player is on the pitch
• Extra point if a midfielder or forward plays the full match(+1 point)
• Points for the shots on target for every player, depending on the position(Forward/Mid: 0.4, Defenders: 0.6, Goalkeeper: 1)
• Negative points for a foul resulting in a penalty(-2)/scoring a free kick(-2)
• +0.5 points for every Goalkeeper save made

Player Pricings in Fanteam:

• Salah is the most expensive player, coming in at 13.5 million
• Other expensive players(9.0 Million & above): Haaland 13.0 Million, Palmer 11 Million, Isak 10.5 Million, Saka 10 Million, Watkins 9.5 Million, Foden 9 Million, Mbeumo 9 Million, Wirtz 9 Million
• Gvardiol is the most expensive defender at 6.5 million
• Lewis Skelly, Matheus Nunes, and Lewis Potter are all classified as defenders after playing in defensive roles last season for their respective clubs
• Gakpo and Ndiaye are midfielders, Marmoush and Cunha remain forwards in the game

Our Initial Fanteam EPL Fantasy Draft:

• Saves are worth 0.5 points, so it makes sense to go for a 4.5 million keeper with decent clean sheet potential. We have gone with Areola as the Hammers have a kind run of games to begin the season, and Areola has also got decent save potential.
• Weiss is our backup keeper at 4.0 million, and Trafford is rumoured to leave Burnley this summer with links to Newcastle United and Man City. If Trafford leaves, we might even see Weiss as the starting keeper.
• Defence is dominated by full-backs with Porro, Munoz, Mykolenko and Cucurella the main defenders.
• Munoz had the 2nd most big chances(9) & goal attempts in the box(34) amongst defenders last season. Cucurella had the most goals amongst defenders last season(5).
• Mykolenko is very kindly priced at 4.5 million and has a good clean sheet and decent assist potential as well
• Porro and the whole of Spurs defence was miserable under Ange last season, but should improve under Thomas Frank this season. Spurs have got good fixtures, and we all know about the attacking threat of Porro!
• Attack is all about nailed, talismatic attackers who are surely/likely on penalties. Do remember that attackers who play 90 minutes get an extra point as well in Fanteam.

• Bowen has been a consistent asset for a while, and at 8 million is a no-brainer option as the Hammers have a good run of games. He’s nailed to play 90 minutes and takes penalties too
• Rogers at 7.5 million might seem a little high, but we feel it’s justified. He started 37/38 games, and the one game he missed was because he was suspended
• Ndiaye was great under Moyes, and at 6.5 million,n is a very good option to consider
• Solanke, Welbeck, and Evanilson are the forwards in our current draft. Spurs fixtures are great, but their midfielders are a no for us as it stands, as they have got plenty of options. Solanke, however, is surely nailed.
• Evanilson and Welbeck at 6.5 Million and 6.0 Million respectively offer incredible value and can always be trusted. Both had 10 goals and 5 assists last season!
