The biggest talking point of GW15 is that Salah blanked…. well in a way. But the good thing is he now has a DGW…so well done to the managers who saved the Triple Captain chip.
The other big update before GW16 is not about players but the Mystery Chip which got unveiled by FPL officially. Google Searches went through the roof for “Mystery Chip” as soon as it was announced.
And lastly, City dropped points again, both in EPL and Europe.
It sets up managers well in terms of planning for the busy festive period.
So, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want 😊

FPL Gameweek 16 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
PS – I am not mentioning Salah, as he is non-negotiable at this point. I assume he is already in your team.
Alexander Isak (£8.6m) – FWD, Newcastle – 20.7% TSB
Since Gameweek 9, Alexander Isak has emerged as one of the most impressive forwards in FPL this season, consistently delivering across multiple metrics:
- 1st for Goals Scored
- 1st for Goal Involvements
- 2nd for xA
- 2nd for Key Passes
- 2nd for FPL Points
- 3rd for xGI
These numbers highlight not only his clinical finishing but also his all-around contribution to Newcastle’s attacking play. His ability to create chances and link up with teammates makes him a standout option, particularly in the current landscape where reliable forwards are in high demand.
Adding to his appeal, Isak benefits from a favourable run of fixtures in the short term, which further enhances his potential to deliver consistent returns. With Newcastle in strong form and Isak playing a central role in their attack, he is perfectly positioned to capitalize on these upcoming matches especially with Wilson out for a considerable period.
Given his excellent form, impressive stats, and the fixture schedule ahead, Isak is a must-buy for FPL managers looking to strengthen their forward line. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to add one of the most in-form players in the game to your squad!

James Maddison (£7.6m) – MID, Spurs – 7.6% TSB
One of the standout fixtures to target this week is Southampton vs. Spurs. With the Saints sitting at the bottom of the table, Postecoglou’s men are expected to dominate, with Maddison likely to be the chief architect of their success.
Among Spurs players, Maddison is ranked:
- 1st for FPL Points
- 1st for Bonus Points
- 1st for BPS
- 1st for Goal Involvements
- 1st for xGI
- 1st for xA
- 1st for Assists
- 2nd for xPts
- 2nd for Shots on Target
- 3rd for Shots in the Box
- 3rd for Big Chances
- 3rd for xG
- 3rd for Goals Scored
Even beyond GW16, Maddison has a favourable run of fixtures.
At less than 10% owned, Maddison can help you climb your mini leagues fast in this period.

FPL Gameweek 16 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD
Matheus Cunha (£7.1m) – FWD, Wolves – 24.4% TSB
Between Gameweeks 5 and 12, Cunha was a standout performer, emerging as the highest-scoring forward in FPL. During this period, he faced tough opponents like Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Manchester City, yet he consistently delivered points, earning the trust of many managers.
However, his form has taken a sharp dip between Gameweeks 13 and 15, where he managed just 5 points despite facing much weaker opposition in Bournemouth, Everton, and West Ham. This decline has understandably led to frustration among FPL managers, with 84,000 already choosing to transfer him out this week.
That said, it’s important to note that Cunha’s short-term fixtures remain favorable, offering him a prime opportunity to bounce back and rediscover his form. With promising matchups on the horizon, he still has the potential to deliver value and reward patient managers.
Given his overall quality and the likelihood of a resurgence, I’d recommend holding onto Cunha until the Christmas period at least, as he could still play a significant role in your squad.

Nicolas Jackson (£8.2m) – FWD, Chelsea – 27.5%
Over 100,000 FPL managers have decided to move on from Jackson, disheartened by his recent performances that include consecutive blanks and a total of 4 blanks in his last 6 outings. This level of underperformance has understandably tested the patience of many, especially considering his premium price tag and initial promise earlier in the season.
However, it’s worth noting that Jackson remains among the top three FWDs for goals scored, assists provided, and overall goal involvements this season. His underlying stats suggest that he still has the potential to deliver for those willing to hold onto him.
Adding to his appeal, Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures look particularly favourable, providing Jackson with an excellent platform to regain his form and reward patient managers. For those who have faith in his ability to turn things around, he could still emerge as a valuable differential in the weeks ahead.
So, hold tight to Jackson — he’s got a great chance to deliver with these favourable fixtures ahead.

FPL Gameweek 16 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL
Emile Smith Rowe (£5.5m) – MID, Fulham – 19.9% TSB
With 4 consecutive blanks and 5 in his last 6 appearances, Emile Smith Rowe, once a go-to budget enabler for FPL managers, has seen his popularity plummet. Today, he holds the unwanted title of the most transferred-out midfielder, and it’s not hard to understand why.
Smith Rowe Stats from the last 4 matches:
- Shots- 0
- Big Chances- 0
- xG- 0
- Big Chances created- 0
- xA- 0.12
Fulham’s upcoming fixtures do little to inspire confidence, presenting a tough schedule that could further limit Smith Rowe’s output. Combined with his declining form, it’s becoming increasingly clear that his FPL value is waning.
For managers seeking consistent returns or chasing upside, now might be the ideal time to part ways with Smith Rowe and reinvest in a midfielder with better form and fixtures.
Joško Gvardiol (£6.1m) – DEF, Man City – 25.4% TSB
Gvardiol is currently the most transferred-out unflagged defender this week, and it’s easy to see why. Despite his premium price, the Croatian has delivered 4 blanks in his last 5 matches.
Man City’s recent form has been worrying, with just 1 win in their last 10 games across all competitions, conceding a staggering 23 goals in the process. In the Premier League, their defensive struggles are evident as they rank 18th for xGC over the last 6 Gameweeks.
With several defenders offering strong form, favorable fixtures, or both, moving on from Gvardiol ahead of the Manchester derby seems like a sensible decision.
