FPL GW6 Transfer Targets
Gabriel ARS Β£6.0
Projected Points GW6-11: 28.2 (Highest amongst all defenders)
The best defense in the league finally has a great fixture run, and FPL managers need to act on it. My favorite pick of the bunch is Gabriel, given his great goal threat from set pieces, and he should have secured minutes going forward. Gabriel has 3 clean sheets and 2 goals in the first 5 fixtures, and that should only just improve moving forward.
Arsenal long-term fixtures are great, with the 5th easiest fixtures over the next ten GWs, which is what you want from defenders, given you do not want to be using transfers on switching them out. Arsenalβs defense brings you the necessary stability and security you are looking for in a long-term transfer strategy. With a great goal threat and playing for the best defense in the league, Gabriel is a no-brainer moving forward.
- Since the beginning of last season, no player has scored more headed goals than Gabriel(6).
- Since the start of the 21/22 season, Gabriel is the highest-scoring defender in the PL with 14 goals
- Since joining Arsenal ahead of the 20/21 season, Gabriel has scored 16 goals in the PL!
Jarrod Bowen WHU Β£7.5
Projected Points GW6-11: 28.9
The obvious pick for midfielders this week is Bryan Mbeumo BRE (Β£7.1), but to no bore you with the same stats that every content creator will say this GW my watchlist midfielder is Bowen. Bowen has largely been a disappointment this season, with low underlying stats of 0.30 xGI per 90 minutes and just 1 goal and 2 assists.
The reasoning for Bowen is that he has the explosive pedigree in past seasons and still has guaranteed starts and minutes, which is vital for people with wildcards. Bowen also has Brentford, Ipswich, Spurs, United, Forest, and Everton in the next six are fixtures against defenses that leak goals, which you can see Bowen delivering in. More of a pick to back the history and the caliber of the player rather than what he has done in the past.
Chris Wood NFO Β£6.1
Projected Points GW6-11: 27.3
Not the flashiest of picks, as he does not have the explosiveness that other forwards display. However, with the new information we got about him being on penalties, Wood becomes a great option from GW6 onwards. Wood has great underlying stats with an xGI of 0.59 per 90 minutes, which at his price is as good as it gets.
Forestβs fixtures are great with the 3rd easiest over the next 6 fixtures. However, with penalties, great underlying stats, and decent fixtures that can be easily rotated with another attacker, Wood is easily one of the players on my watchlist and should be on GW6 wildcards.
