The Differential Article for the season got off to a good start with 4 of our 6 FPL GW1 differential picks returned with FPL Points.
- Diogo Jota – 1 Goal, 8 Points
- Chris Wood – 1 Goal, 9 Points
- Lewis Hall – 1 Clean Sheet – 5 Points
- Yankuba Minteh – 1 Assist – 4 Points
In this FPL GW2 Differentials article, we will be highlighting 5 Players who are less than 10% Owned and 1 Ultra Differential (less than 1% Owned) for all of you as of Wednesday 21st August, 2024. There are many more whom you guys can consider if you decide not to go with the 6 players mentioned below.
Top FPL GW2 Differential Picks
Kevin De Bruyne – Man City – 9.5 Mid – 8.2 % TSB
- KDB plays an Ipswich team that conceded the most xGC in Gameweek 1 (2.68) along with 18 Shots, 12 Shots in the Box, 5 Shots on Target, and 6 Big Chances. Expect them to concede even more when they face a rampant City at the Etihad.
- KDB has often done well at the Etihad compared to away games. He could be a nice double-up with Haaland and unlike Foden, he already has 90 minutes under his belt.
- KDB had a decent game against Chelsea where he had an xGI of 0.4 and had some nice long-range shots. Surely KDB can be expected to more involved in this game and a couple of Assists or a Goal is up for grabs if Man City do rout Ipswich.
- Manchester City have scored the most Goals at home games for the last few seasons and have odds of scoring 2.74 Goals this Gameweek. KDB is expected to get 6.5 Points according to the Fantasy Football Hub AI. A gamble worth taking if you really want to attack this fixture in my opinion.
Rico Lewis – Man City – 4.5 Mil – Defender – 1.3 % TSB
- Rico Lewis had an impressive Game against Chelsea in Gameweek 1 and looks set to keep his place while Pep eases Walker into the team after his Euro Cup assertions.
- Lewis was the more attacking Fullback against Chelsea, compared to Gvardiol and we all thought he had scored from a shot inside the box, but unfortunately, it was called off because of a foul by Haaland.
- City have the best Clean sheets odds this Gameweek with a Clean Sheet probability of 59%. This does look like a guaranteed 6-pointer for the starting City defenders and couple that with Lewis’ attacking threat, he could be a handy option for your teams.

Rodrigo Muniz – Fulham – 6 Mil – Forward – 7 % TSB
- Muniz will now take on a Leicester side who conceded around 1.23 xGC against Spurs (15 Shots and 2 Big Chances). The major thing to note from that performance was how many chances Spurs (Solanke and Richarlison) got and squandered from central areas. Muniz will be operating in the same Central area and will be hoping to get off the mark against Leicester at Craven Cottage.
- Muniz had 2 Shots at Old Trafford and both were from inside the box. He even had an acrobatic Bicycle kick which forced Onana into a good save.
- Muniz is expected to score 5.4 points according to the Fantasy Football Hub AI. One more thing to keep in mind is Leicester’s weakness when defending set pieces. Muniz being dominant in the air could have some joy against Leicester’s backline from corners.

Antonee Robinson – Fulham – 4.5 Defender – 9.5 % TSB
- Robinson got 6 Assists last season and in the easier fixtures will have a chance to get further attacking returns. Robinson was even on for 2 bonus points until Manchester United scored the late goal. Good attacking threat, decent defensively and a good source for Bonus points, Robinson is your all Round defender in the Budget Defender category.
- Fulham only conceded 24 Goals at home last season. Leicester only had 7 Shots in Gameweek 1 which was the joint 2nd Lowest last Gameweek. Fulham are 5th Favorites to keep a Clean Sheet in Gameweek 2 with a Clean Sheet probability of 29%.
Robinson Heat Map in GW1 vs Manchester United- Expect a more advanced Robinson vs Leicester City.

Son Heung Min – Spurs – 10 Midfielder – 9.5 % TSB
- Son played quite wide against Leicester and only managed a single shot and created 2 chances (1 was a Big Chance). However against an Everton team who will be without Branthwaite and no proper Right back (Young suspended and Coleman and Patterson injured), there could be plenty of joy for Son in Gameweek 2.
- Everton have conceded the most shots from their right flank last season and have provided joy to the opposition team Left Wingers in the recent past (something which Mitoma took advantage in Gameweek 1 and Son should do in Gameweek 2)
- Spurs are predicted to score 2.6 Goals in Gameweek 2 and while Spurs averaged 70 percent possession in Gameweek 1, they lacked a cutting edge which ended up in a Draw. Expect Ange to correct these mistakes and go for a juggernaut score against an injury-depleted Everton defence in Gameweek 2.
FPL GW2 Ultra Differential Pick (Under 1 % Ownership) –
Levi Colwill – Chelsea – 4.5 Mil – 0.9 % TSB –
- Chelsea surprisingly conceded only 0.8 xGC against Manchester City which was lower than what Manchester City conceded 1.2 xGC in the same fixture. Chelsea conceded 10 Shots compared to City’s 11 and 3 Shots on Target compared to City’s 5 Shots on Target.
- Maresca’s system is based more on control and that should benefit Chelsea to get more clean sheets this season. Plus a shield of Caicedo, Lavia and Enzo in front of the defence will help them too.
- Chelsea will start their good run of fixtures from Gameweek 2 and its better to get on their Defence earlier than being late to the party. They have a 34% chance of a Clean sheet in Gameweek 2 and Wolves also lacked a cutting edge against Arsenal in Gameweek 1.
- Colwill seems the most nailed Center Back for Chelsea with Fofana an injury as well as a rotation risk. Colwill is also a good threat for corners and set pieces.
That’s it for Gameweek 2. We will be back with 6 More Differentials next Gameweek where we will be hoping to get some positive returns from our current selected Differentials for Gameweek 2.
