ENGLAND

Can Harry Kane finally end his trophy drought & bring Football home?

• FIFA World Ranking – 4
• Qualification Record – W6, D2, L0
• Goals For – 22
• Goals Against – 4

Strengths:

England were a couple of penalties away from ending their 55-year trophy drought at the last Euros. Since that defeat, they have got even stronger. Harry Kane has become a complete footballer, the Man City players are so used to winning these days that pressure does not get to them anymore. In Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham, England have a terrific trio of midfielder superstars behind Kane. Declan Rice is a world-class Central Midfielder who is the glue of the team. While people like Ollie Watkins & Cole Palmer, who have had brilliant seasons for their clubs, cannot even get into the Starting 11. Such is their attacking talent that The Three Lions should be heading to Germany with one intention only: to bring the trophy home.

Weaknesses: 

It is the defense that is often the Kryptonite for England in the major tournaments. Injuries to Left Back Luke Shaw who has barely played this season will worry Southgate. Even his replacement Kieran Trippier who is a Right Back that can play as a left-back, has been injured in the 2nd half of the season. Maguire & Stones have had injury-hit seasons but they should be okay for the tournament. Walker who has raw pace but not the best defensive sense is another worry. That defense does look shaky at the moment, doesn’t it?

England Euro 2024 Predicted Lineup: 

England XI (4-3-3): Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw/Trippier; Rice, Alexander-Arnold/Mainoo/Gallagher, Bellingham; Saka, Kane, Foden.

England Euro 2024 Set Piece Takers: 

• Penalties – Kane
• Free Kicks – Foden/Alexander Arnold/Trippier
• Corners – Rice/Alexander Arnold/Trippier/Saka

Top 2024 Euro Fantasy Choices from England  

• Kane (11 Fwd) – Can only start with England’s Talisman & Captain. 8 Goals & 2 Assists in 8 Qualifiers. Brilliant campaign for his new club Bayern with 44 goals, and 12 Assists in 44 matches. Takes Penalties. Nailed on for 90 minutes. Get him on your team and enjoy their matches.
• Jude Bellingham (9.5 Mid) – After the season he has had, it would be mental not to have him in the Top choices. 23 Goals & 10 Assists in 38 Matches for his club. If he plays behind the Striker, expect him to do major damage at this Tournament. Jude also loves performing on the Big Stage too.

• Bukayo Saka (8.5 Mid) – The reason I have gone for Saka over Foden is because he is 0.5 cheaper & there are lesser options to play on the Right side for England. Tends to perform better for England compared to Foden. That’s it. Otherwise, you cannot separate the 2 Wingers. 4 Goals & 3 Assists in Qualifying. 20 Goals & 13 Assists in 44 Matches for Arsenal. A strong option for a double-up with Kane.
• Notable Mentions – Phil Foden (9 Mid) – Only 2 Assists in Qualifying but has had a brilliant season for Man City with 24 Goals & 11 Assists in 43 Matches. As Kane will be highly owned, the only way to gain rank would be to double up on either Foden/Bellingham/Saka with Kane. Maybe even get 3 from the Attacking Quartet.

DENMARK

Can they repeat their run to the Semis from the last Euros?

• FIFA World Ranking – 21
• Qualification Record – W7, D1, L2
• Goals For – 19
• Goals Against – 10

Strengths:

The 1992 Euro Champions have been there, done it. They have become an attractive side to watch in the last few years with brilliant passing football mixed with a counter-attacking mindset. Their creativity and threat on set pieces is one of the best across Europe.

Weaknesses: 

The form and lack of club games for their Creative Hub Eriksen is a bit of a concern. The quicker he gets into top gear, the better for the Great Danes. Their Wing Backs/Full Backs are not the best defensively and often get caught out during Counter attacks by the opposition.

Denmark Euro 2024 Predicted Lineup:

Schmeichel should be in Goal for perhaps one last major tournament. 

They often switch between a Back 3 & a Back 4, but knowing the attacking ability of their Wingbacks, I believe they will start with a Back 3. 

Andersen, Christensen, and Vestergaard should start at center-backs with Kjaer coming in for Vestergaard once he is fit. The Wing Backs Maehle & Kristiansen will be given full license to bomb forward. 

A solid & stable midfield of Eriksen, Norgaard and Hojbjerg. If Eriksen needs a rest, Jensen should fill up his absence. 

Front two of Hojlund and Wind to lead the line.

Denmark XI (3-4-1-2): Schmeichel; Andersen, Christensen, Vestergaard/Kjaer; Maehle, Hojbjerg, Norgaard, Kristiansen; Eriksen; Hojlund, Wind

Denmark Euro 2024 Set Piece Takers: 

• Penalties – Eriksen
• Free Kicks – Eriksen 
• Corners – Eriksen/Jensen

Top Euro 2024 Fantasy Assets from Denmark:

• Rasmus Hojlund (7.5 Fwd) – Starting with the Main Man for Denmark. 7 Goals & 1 Assist in Euro Qualifying, he will spearhead the Danish attack. Had a decent season for Manchester United with 15 Goals & 2 Assists in 36 Games. Always steps up for Denmark. A Very Good 3^rd Forward option for your teams.
• Joakim Maehle (5.5 Def) – Had to include the Star Defender of EURO 2020. The 4.5 Budget Gem has now become a Premium 5.5 Option. 2 Goals, and 1 Assist in Euro Qualifying with 2 attempts per game is incredible. Averages 2.8 Ball Recoveries per game. Spends most of the time high up on the pitch.
• Christian Eriksen (7 Mid) – The Creative Hub of the Danish team and their Talisman. He is integral to everything Denmark do. Even though he may not be as prolific as he once was, he will be on penalties, set pieces, and corners and is usually nailed for 90+ minutes. 1 Goal & 3 Assists in 6 Matches in EURO Qualifying. Averages close to 3.5 Key passes per game. 
• Notable Mentions – Jonas Wind (7 Fwd) – Hojlund’s Partner in Crime got 3 Goals & 3 Assists in 10 Euro Qualifying games. The only player to feature in all the games besides Hojbjerg for Denmark. I would prefer Hojlund over Wind, but he is no slouch either as he got 11 Goals & 7 Assists in 34 games for his club.

SERBIA

They will be looking to make a statement in the return to the European Championship since their last appearance at the tournament in 2000.

• FIFA World Ranking – 33
• Qualification Record – W4, D2, L2
• Goals For – 15
• Goals Against – 9

Strengths:

The Midfield and Strike force are their strengths. Such is the Quality of their attack that Vlahovic from Juventus often misses out in their Starting 11. Their system with Twin Number 10’s of Tadic & Milinkovic Savic is one of the best in the tournament. A major set-piece threat with towering figures all over the team.

Weaknesses:

It’s the defense where the team suffers. Besides Milenkovic of Fiorentina, they do not have a Top Center Back playing in the Top 5 leagues. Their wing backs Kostic & Zivkovic are more like wingers with less focus on defending, which causes for their already weak backline.

Serbia Euro 2024 Predicted Lineup:

Serbia (3-4-2-1): V. Milonkovic-Savic; Milenkovic, Pavlovic, Babic/Veljkovic; Zivkovic, Lukic, Gudelj, Kostic; S. Mikinkovic-Savic, Tadic; Mitrovic

Serbia Euro 2024 Set Piece Takers: 

• Penalties – Mitrovic/Tadic/Vlahovic
• Free Kicks – Tadic/Kostic
• Corners – Tadic/Kostic

Top 2024 Euro Fantasy Choices from Serbia:

1. Alexander Mitrovic (7 Fwd) – 5 Goals, 1 Assist in Euro Qualifying. Has had a brilliant season with Al-Hilal with 28 Goals & 5 Assists in 28 Games. The 2^nd Top Goal scorer behind Ronaldo in that league. Major threat at set pieces and on penalties (dodgy record though). I would go for the Focal Point in Serbia’s attack.
2. Dusan Tadic (6.5 Fwd) – The Creative Hub of Serbia. On all corners and set pieces. May even take penalties from Mitrovic, if he can convince the Big guy, that is. (All the best with that!!), 2 Goals, 4 Assists in Euro Qualifying. 10 Goals & 14 Assists for his club this season. The only downside is that he is listed as a Forward & we only have 3 precious slots to fill.
3. Sergej Milinkovic Savic (6.5 Mid) – If you want a Midfielder from Serbia, this is who you should go with. 11 Goals, and 10 Assists in 30 Games for his club. Has a brilliant knack for scoring Long Range Goals. 
4. Notable Mentions – Nemanja Gudelj (5 Mid) – Averaged 7.5 Ball Recoveries per match, the most among Midfielders in Qualifying. He is not an Attacking threat but offers you a base of 4-5 points for a cheap price tag.

SLOVENIA

Making their 2^nd appearance at the Euros, can they surprise everyone with a decent showing?

• FIFA World Ranking – 57
• Qualification Record – W7, D1, L2
• Goals For – 20
• Goals Against – 9

Strengths:

Up Top & In Goal is where this team is the strongest. Benjamin Sesko will have lots of clubs looking at his performances at the Euros. That should be motivation itself for the Young Star who has been in breathtaking form for his club recently. In goal is one of the World’s best custodians Jan Oblak who can frustrate opposition attackers like anything.

Weaknesses:

Their Defense does not look good enough to cope with the strong attacks of England, Denmark & Serbia. It will be up to Oblak to keep the score down.

Slovenia Euro 2024 Predicted Lineup: 

Slovenia (4-4-2): Oblak; Karnicnik, Blazic, Bijol, Janza; Stojanovik, Cerin, Elsnik, Lovric/Mlakar ; Sesko, Sporar

Slovenia Euro 2024 Set Piece Takers: 

• Penalties – Sesko
• Free Kicks – Cerin/Janza
• Corners – Cerin/Janza

Top 2024 Euro Fantasy Choices from Slovenia:

1. Benjamin Sesko (7 Fwd) – The Main Man of the Slovenian team, the Young Gun will carry the hopes of his Nation on his shoulders. On Penalties as well. 5 Goals & 2 Assists in Euro Qualifying. He was on fire in the latter half of the season for Leipzig where he got 16 Goals and 2 Assists in 39 Games. 
2. Adam Cerin (5 Mid) – He is one of the best Budget Assets in this year’s Game. On Corners, Free kicks & playing high up the pitch, he got 1 Goal & 3 Assists in Euro Qualifying. A Decent Average of 3.7 Ball Recoveries per game too. Your All Rounder-Midfielder for just 5 Million.
3. Andraz Sporar  (6 Fwd) – Playing up top with Sesko, Sporar got 3 Goals and 3 Assists in Qualifying. A Cheaper alternative to Sesko, if you don’t have the budget.
4. Notable Mentions – Erik Janza (4.5 Def) – Not known for his Defensive strength, I would pick a Slovenian defender at gunpoint. If you were to pick one, Janza who is on corners would be my choice. The Cheapest of the lot, he got 2 Goals in Qualifying. The only caveat that he is not fully nailed in the Starting 11.
